Misunderstood
"Lance, I can't stay here. I have to go back or else." The strong arms wrapped around my body tighten in response. "Please. I don't want you to get hurt. The others don't matter, they won't listen to reason or know why I'm there. I promise I'll be back within a month just please let me go back without a problem." I turn around and look into his dark blue eyes filled with worry and longing, brown hair ruffled up from waking up a few minutes ago.
"I don't want you to go. I need you just as much as you need me. Let me go with you or someone else on board you trust." A bitter laugh echoes in his room, nobody else trusts me, shunned me away as if I was a disease they wanted to catch. "I will not let you go alone. I won't lose you. I love you."
"I love you too Lance, but we only have the day to spend together before I leave. It's required." I wrap my arms around his neck, breathing in his scent as I sigh in content at the soft lips colliding with mine. My eyes close on their own accord as I savor the warmth, becoming lost in the embrace with a fire burning in my entire being.
"Come on Lance, you can do better than that." I smirk at the frustrated boy in front of me panting as I hold my daggers, patient. "A few more rounds and we can cuddle afterwards." My smirk grows wider as he rushes me at the sentence with a sword in his hand. Dodging his attack swiftly I kick him back deflecting a whip that catches him off guard, my dagger wrapped in it before I pull to reveal Pidge, light brown eyes showing disgust for myself.
"You let her defeat you Lance? She couldn't even defeat the reset of us put together." Ignoring the snide comment, I help Lance back up with a solemn, calm look. "How is it possible to find such trash who willing let people take her where ever?" Looking over his wounds, I nod satisfied, the stab of pain in my heart too real at the moment. Lance takes my hand and pulls me in a tight hug, glaring at Pidge with hatred.
"You will never know the whole story. Never. Leave us alone. All of you. You've done enough for today and every other day." My mind goes blank as tears start to threaten my vision, Lance's warmth giving me comfort as I lean into his toned body, forgetting the audience following us.
"Thank you Lance. You're the most amazing thing that has ever happened to me. I would have been dead if it weren't for you."
"Anything for you. You deserve better than what you were given. It may not have been your choice, but you are my choice in my life. It will always be you."
The night passed by as we stayed in his room, talking for hours and falling asleep in each other's arms. The morning came all too quick as Lance gave me a goodbye kiss, lingering long enough for me to want more. I glare at him mockingly before laving with not a glance tot he distasteful and distrustful looks from the others. Time for another month of hell and healing I grimly muse, faint scars being seen underneath my clothes and several large ones covered up by the many tattoos I have. Leaving the group, my heart aches for Lance's embrace, flirty jokes and pick up lines, smiles so wide I thought his face would fall off. Tears make my vision blurry, but I brush them off, treasuring every moment we have together and for the ones yet to come.
A Month Later
"Do as your told and we won't go to hard on you." Not a sound of pain escapes my body as I take beating and beating, the routine a usual at the club I was forced into by my boss, who essentially kidnapped me. My mother and father didn't care enough about me to even bother looking. That's how they've always been, especially since I'm treated better here than at home. Where I was beaten, raped, forced to be their slave for anything. Blood touches my tongue as I spit out the metallic liquid, merely looking up at the three males with a challenge in my green, gold specked eyes.
"I'm done. There's nothing you can do to make me do you. You're disgusting just like everyone else. I know I am." The bitterness in my words surprised them as the three look at each other before advancing, their hitting paused for only a few minutes. The night I was supposed to work with these men filled up with bruises, cuts, numbed limbs, and more. My only thought was how Lance was doing and that he was safe. Hours later, I wake up from my bed, realizing I wasn't in the alleyway or club with those bastards. How long was I out? Who found me?
"I am never leaving you alone again. Why do you put yourself through so much? Why?" My heart beats faster at Lance's voice as I receive a tight hug from him. I barely glance at the group who's watching with guilt and remorse in their otherwise blank stares.
"I never wanted you to be involved. I don't want you to get hurt love. I can't lose you either."
"You're an idiot. I will always protect you the best I can. What happened all this time?" I sigh, pecking his lips before nuzzling my chin in his shoulder, eyes closed at the soft circles being rubbed into my back.
"It's a place where people who won't be missed disappear to. I was kidnapped by my boss, my parents never really cared about me. They were abusive, mentally and physically. I disappeared and become a thing for my boss to mess with before you saved me. I was forced to drink a drugged beverage or I would have been dead already if I had rejected. I have more to live for and I took it, I was incoherent as they ended up doing what they wanted to me. I was in the same condition when I saw you guys as images, not sure if it was the drugs or reality. Then you came up to me and here we are now. The beatings and torture depend on how the customers and boss feel, it's a gamble whether we live or die each day. You were always my escape Lance, my love, my everything. You're my light and always will be, but when I realized the others already made assumptions, I was tossed aside like garbage. You cared enough to listen and that kept me going each day until I realized I love you more than life itself."
"Thank you for telling me everything. We are getting you out of here forever. Stay with me forever." A genuine smile makes it way to my face as I nod, noticing my bandaged and aided wounds from before slowly healing.
"We are sorry for everything we've said and done to you. We didn't give you chance and labeled you as trouble. Will you ever forgive us?" Princess Allura steps forward with a guilty and saddened expression that pierces my heart, but I stand my ground giving an even look to these people that couldn't even look me in the eye doing it now.
"No. I need time much like everyone else out there. Let's get going Lance. I missed you like crazy." The two of us stay that way until we are forced to leave, holding hands and exchanging gentle kisses. I may not forgive them in a few years, but Lance is my light in this world. My love. As long as I have him, it's good enough for me.
"I love you to infinity." A chuckle escapes his lips at the sentence, but he returns the sentiments by kissing me slowly. A smile appears on my face as I know I'm home once again.
