---------------------------------
It had been a long day, one that seemed like it was far from over. Daichi was just walking into his room after getting home from school. He was wearing a pair of baggy blue jeans, a black top with a red plaid over shirt. His shoes had been dismissed at the front door, leaving him in his socks since he didn't want the house slippers. He carried a black back pack that held what books and papers he needed that night, knowing he had a few things to finish. Even at the thought of that a sigh escaped from the black haired teen.
Tossing his bag off to the side, it bounced off the wall and landed on his bed. The blankets a mess since he didn't bother making it that morning.
Daichi walked over to the computer, sitting down in the black swivel chair in front of the desk. He switched on the computer and waited as it booted up. Watching each screen click by before everything was loaded. Instead of bringing up the internet, Daichi went straight for his Skype account. It had been a long day, and honestly he just needed to talk to a friend. One friend in particular, Natsu. The two of them had been friends for as long as Daichi could remember. They use to spend every possible moment together, but since the move, Skype was the closest thing they had to being there in person for each other.
Once he was logged in, he scanned for Natsu. Finding him easily before bringing the user up. He waited a second before typing a message into the message box.
"You on?"
It only took but a few seconds before the familiar ringing of the Skype video chat came up. A smile forming on Daichi's lips as he adjusted his camera and answered the call.
"Must have been a pretty rough day if you're already online."
The male on the other end gave a laugh as he leaned back in his chair. Natsu looked so relaxed, wearing a T-shirt and a pair of sweats. He was slightly slouched in his chair and looking as if he had just gotten up from bed. His already usually wavy hair was far more tussled than he was use to seeing.
"You could say that. I didn't wake you did I?"
Daichi gave a slightly curious yet worried look that he had woken his friend up.
"Nah, I was going to get up soon anyways. You know, the usual time we actually Skype."
A laugh escaped from Natsu, Daichi could only smile a little. So he had woken Natsu up. That's what he got for living on the other side of the world now.
"I see."
"So what's got you so desperate for company?"
Natsu shifted slightly, his image stalling for a second as lag took hold. But shortly it was back to normal.
"Just everything, you know the story. Everyone I know is where you are, I'm the new kid so I'm like...the target for insult and its just not the same."
Daichi let out a sigh and hung his head a bit before he heard an equal sigh coming from Natsu. His head lifted and he stared a second.
"You alright?"
Natsu froze slightly before he gave a gentle smile towards his friend.
"Yeah, just fine. I was just thinking how its the same for me here. Its not the same without you. I don't have my best friend here, the closest I get to see you is through a computer screen."
"I know..."
"So, how about we get off depressing for now. You guys don't wear uniforms in the states?"
Natsu wanted a change of subject, and this seemed like the most appropriate to start with. Daichi looked down at his outfit and then back up shaking his head.
"Not at this school, its far different in Japan. But here in the US mostly private schools only wear uniforms. The public schools, you're free to wear what you want so long as its within school guidelines."
Daichi scrunched up his nose a bit.
"You're not interested in school attire though are you?"
Natsu gave a laugh and shook his head.
"No, I'm not, I'm just trying to steer away from your depressing mood."
"I don't have a depressing mood. I just had a long day and just got out of school. I'll be fine in a bit."
Daichi couldn't help the slight laugh that bubbled out of him. That was so like Natsu to try and avert the current situation to a better one. He couldn't have been more thankful or grateful to have a friend like him. Even if they did live worlds apart right now.
"What? Whats so funny?"
Natsu had this confused look on his face as he leaned forward and got close to the camera, changing his voice a bit to sound like a monster.
"Whats so funny?"
Daichi just laughed and shook his head.
"You are such a tool, you know that."
"Am not!"
Natsu screeched as he pulled back with wide eyes. Daichi couldn't help but laugh at the look on his friends face. It was priceless, so much so that Daichi took a screen capture of it and saved it to a random file on his desktop.
"Hey! Stop laughing. What are you laughing at?"
Daichi just smiled and shook his head.
"Nothing. Its nothing."
"Uh-huh. I'm sure its nothing. So anyways, Mr. Giggles, what are your plans for the evening?"
Daichi tried to stop his giggling, and let out a sigh as he shrugged.
"School work, then figure out the rest of the night from there. Might annoy my parents by playing the guitar a bit but you know...the usual night. I'm guessing you'll be heading off to school later."
Natsu nodded at Daichi's assumption and what he would be doing that night.
"Your night sounds boring. But ha...."
Natsu paused as he watched Daichi glance off to the side a bit. The sigh that came from his friend left a curious look on his face.
"What's going on?"
"Nothing, I just have to go. Dinner time. Look, I'll messaged you later, if its not too late we can Skype a little longer."
Natsu nodded.
"Yeah, don't wait too long. I've still got school."
"I won't. See ya later."
The two waved to one another before ending the video chat. Though Daichi smiled and turned towards the computer typing into the chat section.
"You're still a tool."
A few moments passed and getting no response, Daichi slowly rose from his chair. Just as he walked out of his room and closed the door a message popped up on the chat.
"Am not. And hey....stay strong over there. I'll find a way to get you back home to Japan. Later."
