"Granny, what's the story about that locked box?" the little girl begged.
"Let me tell you?" The Grandmother smiled.
…
It started one day when a young girl named Rose was on her way to pick up some grocers from the corner shop. She had golden locks and beautiful sapphire blue eyes and a light sprinkle of freckles on her nose
"Here to pick up your Mama's order?" asked Mr Gable with a smile.
"Yes Mr Gable," she giggled, bouncing up to the counter.
"I'll have it ready in a couple of minutes," Mr Gable soon disappeared into the back room where all the larger stock was kept. A sudden crash came from behind the counter followed by a cloud of white dust. Then a white figure appeared from behind the table. Mr Gable came running out to see what had happened holding two large brown paper bags.

Several months later Rose had an unexpected messenger.
'Ms Summers we are sorry to inform you, but Rupert Tucker, while on his trip has died and these were found among his belongings addressed to you.' She was handed a small box filed with pictures of her and a key.
…
The grandmother turned to her awaiting grandchild.
"Now child, once she had found out that her beloved was dead she didn't open the box because she had made a promise to open it with him, until now." The old lady revealed a small key and handed it to her granddaughter. Unlocking the box they found pictures of Rose and Rupert as they had grown up and several other momentous items. As the got to the bottom of the box, the grandmother began to weep. Inside was a ring…
