Forged in Fog (Gessen Academy x Male reader)
A/N: This chapter is not in connection with the CPU chapter. This chapter is about what is possibly my favorite chapter in DBD to date! So let's get to it!
Y/N POV
My name is Y/N Toscano, and I was born to a wealthy family in 1343 in Italy. My life was relatively peaceful, since I believed in a life of pacifism, and violence was just a brash way of dealing with problems.
Literature was my virtue, and my uncle sought to enlighten me and the ways of the unknown. That pursuit is what killed my uncle in a tomb expedition. Returning to Italy, I thought my life could only get better.
That was until I met Tarhos Kovács
I hired him to be a mercenary and guard for an expedition I was heading. We were heading to the city of Sintra to look for some catacombs. While the locals forbid the entry, I told Tarhos to approach them peacefully.
He slaughtered the entire town that day.
Seeing his power grow, he had me in irons and through me in a dungeon; that was when the torture began.
Tarhos however grew tired of beating me and left me to rot. But when the towns people decided to revlot against him, he sought to end my life right then and there.
His heavy armor clanged against the floor, his sword scraping against the wall like a horrible banshee. My life was for sure over, he would have my head and that was it.
But as if fate had a different outcome, A black fog drifted into the room. It was cold, and harsh, but in the end, my life had been spared. At a dire cost.
Timeskip
It had been 600 years since I'd been taken by that black fog. My time spent in this god forsaken realm has been nothing short then... Lonely.
I'm fairly certain its true goal was to take me, and put me in these games, these trials to drain my hope from my body. But that never happened since I found this artifact called the Auris, which hid my presence from the creature.
I can't say the same for the others here.
These people, survivors, are toyed with by these monsterous killers, forced to endless fight and survive for a chance at living, only to be tosses around and sacrificed to what I call 'The Entity'.
I want to help them, I really do, but doing so would reveal my location, forfeiting my life. So I'm forced into a life of loneliness, reading about other universes and drinking away my sorrows.
That is all about to change.
Short skip
I sip from my glass. The whiskey lost almost all of its taste over the years, but it's the only drink that gives me some satisfaction. The days go by like nothing, endless in nature, but I feel the walls around my crumble, almost like something is clawing at me.
The library I found myself in sits upon a massive tower, giant wind currents sit outside and constantly threatens to crumble the tower, but that never happens.
I sigh, all the lore I've indulged myself in is beginning to falter, and my knowledge reaches an end.
That moment is halted as a book manifests into one of the empty slots. It begins to radiate a bright light, one I haven't seen in years. I climb to my feet, and wobble over to the book, my legs beginning to give in.
I reach said book and pull it out, its light fading revealing the title as...
Kurokage: The man who fought for good
Odd... In all my years, I have never seen a book like this, but there is always a first for everything.
I hobble back to my chair, tired, and shrouded in eternal darkness.
I open the book, and begin to read.
The story tells of man named Kurokage, who trained to become a modern day Shinobi, one of those Japanese ninja's I've read about before.
He alongside another man named Hanzo, where the best of friends, and shared a common goal, but with very minor differences. While Hanzo wanted to have good and evil in and equal balance, Kurokage sought to rid the entire of evil, creating a utopia of pure good.
This difference cause to two and distance each other, and after graduation, they seperated. Kurokage would hunt down evil shinobi and kill them, see these people and irrdeemable. This action caused him to be hunted by both good and evil shinobi, causing his go renegade and hide for the forseeable future.
He would remain in hiding for time, until the death of his daught reached him.
His daughter and her husband were both good shinobi, and they met their end to an evil shinobi. He would attend their funeral in secret, but would meet their daughter, Yumi.
Kurokage would feel pity upon meeting Yumi, and would take her under his wing, promising her to tell her the truth about what happened to her parents.
Over the years, Kurokage would train Yumi, and eventually four other girls on the path of the shinobi, and he tried to keep his goal from becoming theirs.
This effort was fruitless.
They all would adopt his ideology of ridding the world of evil, he tried to get them to find their own path, but it was useless, and he son found himself terminally ill and bedridden.
That is where the story ends.
Baffled, I tell myself. Modern day shinobi, that sounds like a story of fiction, but then again, my surrounds are something out of a horror story, so who am I to question?
Just as I close the book, I sigh. Once again, another batch of I lore I take in, only to find it mostly useless down the line.
The book then radiates once again. Confused, I open the book once more, before being caked in a very bright light.
Timeskip
My head stirs, it quakes in unending pain. I shake my head and rince the pain away, the feel snow beneath my hands and pick myself up.
In front of me is almost a wonderous winter wonderland, something I hadn't seen in forever, there are also stairs that are almost never-ending, leading to what appeared to be some kind of academy.
I can't say from experience, but the building look almost, feudal, like ancient Japanese lore.
I begin the ascent, but I use my Auris to mask my presence, just incase there was someone waiting for me, I had to safe.
What felt like hours of climbing, I reach to entrance. It was almost like those stairs were made for superhuman people, but my years spent in the realm hardened me.
I raise me hand, sweat dripped down my face and onto my beard, and I knock. Once... Twice... and before the third knock, the door swung open...
Earlier... Yozakura POV
I'm currently making dinner for the other girls, since I'm the only one that can make an actual descent meal.
Life has came to an almost impossible stop after we challenged Hanzo Academy to a Shinobi Battle Royale, and after we went there and fought them, we were all tired.
Relaxing was something I had in my mind.
My mind stops as knocking is heard at the door, was it an enemy, or someone else.
Yozakura: I'll get it!
Reaching the door, I open it to reveal an older man. He had white hair and a short white beard with beige jacket and blue jeans. He also head several jewels dangling from his neck. The odd thing about him though was his right arm up to his neck and a very noticeable glowing tattoo.
Before I could get words out, he asks me.
???: Hey, look, I've had a rough patch, could I stay here and get my bearings.
He sounded tough, but also with a hint of knowledge.
Yozakura: Umm... Sure, I can take you to our lounge.
???: Thank you.
I guide him inside and towards our center. I motion him towards a seat and ask him to sit down. He nods his head and takes seat, I decide now would be a great time to get the others.
Y/N POV
The blue haired girl was oddly nice for stranger, she also spoke Japanese. Thankfully my years in the realm taught me how to be bilingual.
The girl walks off, hopefully I didn't stir any trouble, the last thing I'd want is violence.
She came back with four other girls, once of which looked very familiar with her grey hair.
The grey one stepped up and asked.
???: Who are you.
Y/N: My name is Y/N Toscano, and I just woke up outside.
???: Okay, since you told me your name, My name is Yumi.
My eyes dart open. Wait, is this the same Yumi from the story? Then that would mean....
Yumi: This one is Yozakura.
The blue haired girl nods.
Yumi: Murakumo.
The girl with the white oni mask also nods. That oni mask however gives me chills...
Yumi: Shiki
Shiki: Like, how are you doing?
Yumi: And Minori.
MinorI: Hiya!
Yumi: And this is Gessen Academy. The school we attend
So these are the shinobi from the story I read, I guess I could open up a bit, just to be safe.
Y/N: I know you all, your shinobi.
They all shiver for a moment.
Yumi: How do you that?
Y/N: This
I open my right hand and out comes the Auris.
Yozakura: What is that thing.
Y/N: This is the Auris, It's an artifact of unending knowledge. Everything archive, every book and every story and recorded in this item. I know about everything, and any time period.
Minori: Huh??
Yumi: How did you get here.
Y/N: First, I need to explain something, I wasn't born here. I was born in the year 1343.
To say they are shocked would be an understatement.
All five: HUH?!
Yozakura: So, your over 600 years old!?
Y/N: That is correct, once I came into contact with this artifact, I stopped aging, and I can't die.
Shiki: That must be, like, totally cool.
Y/N: It's not, it's more like a curse.
Yumi: Well, we could use a hand, and with your help, we could have the upper hand. Would like to join us.
I ponder for a moment, I haven't explored much of this dimension yet, but I place to live would be perfect.
Y/N: Yes, I accept.
Yumi: Excellent, I'll show you the guest room.
Y/N: Alright
I follow Yumi and the other girls wave goodbye to me.
After only a short distance, we reach a room on the upper floor.
Yumi: Here is your room, you'll be sleeping here. Do you need me to wash you clothes.
Y/N: Don't worry, I can take care of that.
Yumi: Okay then, I'll wake you up early to begins.
Y/N: Alright.
She walks off as I enter the room.
The room itself is relatively normal. The carpet and walls are decorated in red with Japanese styled art, the bed is a normal queen sized bed, and there's actually a bathroom in the room.
Deciding that my day was eventful enough, I sit on the bed and begin the close my eyes and drift to sleep.
3rd Person POV
As Y/N begins to fall asleep, the closet located near the bed begins to emit a orange light, embers begins to pour out of the closet. The door begins to creak every slightly open, and inside the closet lays proped up.....
A/N: Eh... Ehhh...... Nice little cliffhanger there.
I decided on a whim to write this, might not be that best but hey, I only write these fun.
The next chapter will be a part two to the CPU Story.
See Ya!
