The Farmers Market: A Team Rancher Fluff
This is connected with my short Team Rancher story in Connected. This is Tango coming back to his aunt and uncle's farm for the next summer. So it's past a year. Enjoy!
Tango's Perspective-
I sighed as I finished helping my parents set up their stand for the farmer's market.
I wiped some sweat off of my forehead and then smiled as I heard a familiar voice walk up to us.
"Hey Tango!"
I opened my eyes and blushed as I saw Jimmy smiling in front of me.
"Hey Jim!"
"You guys done?" Jimmy asked, tilting his head.
"Uh- I think so." I said, looking back at my aunt.
She smiled and walked over.
"Hey Jimmy! How've you been?" She asked.
"Good! I'm just happy to have another summer with Tango." Jimmy said, making me blush and my heart race.
My Aunt Sam smiled at me and then patted my back.
"Well, me and Ted can handle the stand. We just needed your help setting it up. You and Jimmy have fun." She told me.
"Oh, okay! Thanks." I smiled and she nodded.
I walked around and Jimmy smiled.
"How was your year?" He asked me as we started to walk around.
I shrugged, "Hit and miss. My friend Ren got with someone, so that's nice."
Jimmy nodded and he then gasped.
"What?" I asked, surprised.
"They're selling cookies." He said and I chuckled.
"You made me think something bad was happening." I said and Jimmy giggled.
"Oops." He said and I rolled my eyes.
"Come on, I wanna go check it out." Jimmy said, grabbing my hand and dragging me over.
I sighed and we walked over to a stand that a girl who looked to be about 7 or 8 stood with her father.
"Hello!" The girl smiled when she saw us.
I smiled softly and put my other hand in my pocket.
"We're selling freshly made cookies, jam, and lemonade!" She said, motioning to the items sat on the tables.
"What kind of jam?" I asked.
"Er..." She trailed off and her father came to help her out.
"We have strawberry, mango, grape, all kinds." He said, "And everything's homemade."
"I'll take some strawberry." I said, taking out some money from my pocket.
I was planning on giving the jam to my uncle, who always loved having jam and a biscuit for breakfast.
"So are you two from here? Don't think I've ever seen you." The guy said, putting the jam in a paper bag.
"I'm not, I'm visiting my aunt and uncle here. But Jimmy is." I said, jerking my head to Jimmy who was buying a cookie from the little girl.
"Who're your aunt and uncle?" He asked.
"Samantha and Ted." I said, and he smiled.
"Ah yes! I've met them. They're very kind. The jam's for Ted I assume?" He asked and I nodded.
"Very nice. Well I hope you two have a good day." He smiled and me and Jimmy interlocked hands before walking away.
"What kind of cookie did you get?" I asked.
"Chocolate chip." Jimmy said, taking a bite out of it.
I tore off some of his cookie and Jimmy gasped.
"HEY!" He shouted, trying to move away.
I chuckled.
"Get your own!" He said, making me laugh.
"We can share."
Jimmy narrowed his eyes.
"Sharing is for losers." Jimmy said.
I raised an eyebrow, "Why'd you just call yourself a loser?"
Jimmy looked embarrassed.
"Shut up!" He shouted, making me laugh.
I kissed his cheek and he blushed.
"Thanks for helping me feel at home." I smiled and Jimmy smiled back.
I love you.
