Tango's Perspective-

High school is a weird time.

Everyone was forming relationships and one of my friends already has three exes. And it's only been three months into the new school year!!

How did he do that?!

You know how many people I've been on a date with?

Zero.

Not good for my ego.

I keep trying to convince myself it's fine because I don't wanna rush things and end up dating some cheater, yet it hurts to hear your friend tell me about how they already had their first kiss.

It's nice to see them happy, yet it doesn't get rid of that sad empty feeling.

Tango was laying on his couch, watching some random videos he found on YouTube to try and fill his empty head when there was a knock on the door.

He raised an eyebrow, not expecting any visitors on this quiet Saturday.

Tango got up and opened the door, surprised to see his friend Skizz.

"Skizz? What are you doing here?"

"I- I just..." Skizz looked embarrassed, and Tango was confused.

"What? What happened?"

"A girl asked me out and she was really nice so I said sure because I have nothing better to do, but she asked if she could kiss me, and I said no and then made an excuse to leave."

Tango blinked, "Wait, wait, wait, what happened?"

Skizz took a deep breath and retold what had happened.

At the end, Tango stayed silent for a minute, trying to understand.

"Do you...like this girl?"

"Yes? No? I don't...know."

"So why'd you run off?" Tango asked, sitting down on his couch.

Skizz shrugged and sat down next to Tango.

"I guess I'm just scared of commitment."

"Understandable."

"But like, everyone makes it seem so easy."

"You don't have to rush things if you don't want to. Feel free to take your time."

Skizz sighed into his hands and Tango looked concerned.

Tango gently rubbed Skizz's back and Skizz leaned on his shoulder.

"I just don't want this to be so complicated. I know my sister got cheated on in her first relationship and I don't want that to happen. I just want things to go well. And it may be stupid, but like...I don't wanna waste my first date or kiss or something on someone who I'd regret giving it to."

...

"Well maybe I could help you." Tango said.

Skizz lifted his head and looked confused.

Tango blushed.

"I- I mean, we're friends and I feel the same about not wanting to waste the first thing so...why not share it together?"

Skizz blushed and Tango smiled sheepishly.

"I- I guess that could work, yeah. You are my friend so I wouldn't regret giving it to you."

They both stared at each other and Tango nodded.

"O-okay, so we're doing this?"

"A-as friends."

"Yes! Friends."

Skizz took a deep breath, and he leaned in before giving Tango a soft kiss.

One Year Later-

Relationships are weird.

It's kind of scary at times but it helps to have your partner with you. The one you trust and know will always be there for you.

I don't regret anything that happened.

If I could, I would go back and do it again.

Tango hummed quietly as he walked in the halls and he felt someone come up behind him and tap his shoulder.

He looked to his right but saw no one and he heard someone kiss his left cheek.

Tango chuckled and smiled at Skizz.

"Hi Skizz." He said, patting Skizz's head.

Skizz smiled and booped Tango's nose.

"Hey, are you ready for our date after school?"

I smiled and nodded.

"Always."
