Lizzie's Perspective-

"Your eyes are closed?" Joel asked for the tenth time.

"Joel," I groaned, giggling, "I've had my hands over my eyes since you asked me to cover them!"

"Sorry, sorry." Joel said, continuing to lead me.

"Will you tell me where we're going now?" I asked.

"Almost there, trust me."

"I'm nervous." I said.

Just then, we stopped.

"Why'd we stop?" I asked, "Are we here?"

"Yep!" Joel nodded.

I uncovered my eyes and gasped.

"Aw, Joel!" I squealed, blush on my face.

There was a little clearing in a forest near Joel's house where fairy lights were hung up.

Along with a table and two chairs.

I smiled as fireflies started to flutter around.

"When did you do this?" I asked, walking up to the table.

"Earlier today." Joel shrugged, putting his hands in his pockets.

My heart melted.

"How'd you know I always wanted this?" I asked and Joel shrugged again.

"I have my ways." He smirked.

"Let me guess, Jim told you?"

Joel shook his head, still smirking, "Nope."

I blinked, shocked.

"Er- Grian? He's come over a bit." I mumbled the last bit, thinking.

"Nope. Not Grian or Jim."

"Then...was it Gem? Katherine maybe?"

"No, and no."

"Who was it?"

Joel smiled, "It was you."

"I told you?"

Joel nodded.

"When?"

"Oh, this was years ago. I became friends with Jimmy and Grian and started sitting with them. One day, you came by to tell Jimmy something before walking off with Gem. I overheard you saying something about how your dream date would be a dinner in a forest."

I blinked, "I- how do you remember that?"

Joel shrugged before we sat down.

He started cracking jokes, making me laugh.

As the night continued on, I felt very lucky and shocked that he would actually like me back.

"Thanks for tonight, Joel." I said, tucking some hair behind my ear nervously.

"Of course! I feel like we've all been stressed out recently and I wanted to make you feel better." Joel smiled, making me blush.

He walked me over to my house and we stood out on the driveway.

"Well..." I said, looking over at my door, "I gotta go."

Joel nodded, leaning in and kissing me.

I blushed and kissed back.

As we broke apart, I saw his red face.

I giggled and kissed his cheek before walking up to my door and waving goodbye.

"Bye Joel!" I called.

He smiled, "Bye Liz!"

I walked into my house, my heart thumping.

It was hard to believe what had just happened.

I just went on a romantic dinner date with my crush who's now my boyfriend!

It all felt like a dream.

I smiled as I walked into my room, immediately calling Gem to tell her what happened.

As I did, I thought about how better my life was about to get.
