Imaginary Book Covers
One of these ("Nostalgia") was basically just me goofing around. I was making a page splash for a Morsels story, "The Muse," and realized halfway into the splash that what I was making was very pretty, but it didn't convey the story.
It is now a spare book cover. Yay.
The other book covers were made to fit themes for a graphics contest hosted by Mystic Book Club. I think the contest may technically still be active, but I got stumped by the criteria for the second phase of the competition, "Serene Vistas." That theme required not just a serene vista, but also a K-pop star beholding the serene vista or taking part in it somehow.
I have one idea for a K-pop cover, and it involves Harry Dresden, Park Jimin, an awful lot of stiletto-heeled boots, and a cape. I think I will try to work all these elements into a serene vista, which I will dedicate to Ravendipity, and then work on a crossover fanfic one-shot to fit the theme of the imaginary book cover, but yikes, give me time. I don't think that'll be entered in the Mystic Book Club's graphic design contest. Not without a time machine.
My original idea, which I'd made before the contest phase was announced (yes, I peeked at the themes in advance) was a little more, well, serene.
Here's "The Ethereal Cosmos." I made two designs for this. I had science fiction and poetry in mind when I crafted them.
And lastly, "Arcane Mystique." So, Ancilla, but without "ancilla" or "Magister" or any of the other characters or plot elements?
