In an apartment:

Ding dong! The bell rang. A girl in her mid 20s opened the door and smiled at the person in front of her.

"Hey Cabir!" She wished him.

Cabir smiled and engulfed her in a bear hug, nuzzling his nose in her neck.

"Hi Navya!" He wished back.

They broke the hug and Cabir sat on the sofa. Navya went to the dining to fetch him a glass of water. Navya came back with water and handed over the glass to Cabir. He gulped down the water and kept the glass on the teapoy. Navya smiled at him and he returned it back.

Cabir placed his head on her lap and Navya caressed his hair. Soon he buried his face in her stomach and started crying. He cried his heart out letting out all the pain. All the pain in his heart regarding Manik. Manik and Mukti were his only family. It hurt him to see his brother be a drunkard, a playboy.
After sometime he composed himself and wiped his tears. He looked at Navya who kissed his cheek and smiled at him. She did have questions in her mind about his sudden breakdown but she knew it wasn't the right time to ask him anything.

"Cabir I made pasta and salad for dinner. Let's eat and then play Xbox," Navya suggested.

Cabir nodded and left to freshen up while Navya reheated the pasta. Navya set the table and both of them had dinner in a comfortable silence. Placing the dishes in the sink Navya set the Xbox and both of them were playing FIFA.

"Goal!" Cabir shouted as he netted the ball.

Navya looked at him and smiled. She had successfully distracted him from his pain. That's what loved ones do to you. They make you forget your pain when you don't share it with them. The night passed and the lovers spent quality time and then slept peacefully.

Malhotra Mansion,

Manik woke up the next morning. He saw that his room was neat indicating Inaya had left. He took a relaxing shower and calmed himself. He dressed himself in a chocolate brown suit and set his hair. He took his office bag and checked if he had carried his important files. He went to the dining room and had his breakfast.

"Where is Cabir?" he asked his butler.

"I'm here brother!" Cabir exclaimed from behind.

"Come join me for breakfast" Manik invited Cabir.

Both of them had breakfast together talking random things when Manik suddenly remembered something.

"Its been a week and Mukti hasn't face timed at all. I'll call her wait" Manik said.

Cabir and Mukti were the only two people Manik cared for. He never even cared for himself but the other two were his priority. The trio had faced a lot of difficulties in life but Manik was their Knight in shining Armour.

Manik face timed Mukti and she picked up his call after three rings.

"Hi Bhai! How are you?" she chirped as soon she picked up the call.

"I'm good! How are you baby girl?" Manik enquired.

"I'm fine but I'm missing you a lot," Mukti pouted.

"Okay so you're only missing Manik and not me?" Cabir asked.

"How can I forget my Cabiraa. How are you idiot?" Mukti asked making Manik chuckle.

"I'm fine bandariya. How's life?" Cabir asked.

"Life's good!" Cabir replied making the latter smile.

They continued talking for sometime until Manik said it's time for them to leave to office. They cut the call and left for office. Manik was driving for a change and Cabir was in the passenger's seat. He looked at Manik and decided to ask him one question that was eating him for a while.

"Manik do you love Inaya?" he asked.

"What?!? Are you out of your mind?" Manik barked irritated by the question.

'What did Cabir think while asking this question? How could he think that I would love that girl?' Manik thought.

"No Manik. I'm asking the right thing. I think you love her and that's why......" Cabir trailed off.

"Cabir she is not the first girl I've been with so please stop it! Moreover Manik Malhotra doesn't love anyone else except his brother and sister. She is just a distraction and time pass," Manik said and Cabir nodded.

"And I would appreciate if you don't talk about her further," Manik said in a stern tone which meant end of discussion.

Soon they reached office and went to their respective works.

Nandini woke up early in the morning and finished her chores. She went to Rishabh's room to see him sleeping. She caressed his hair and left to office.

She reached office and went to the 16th floor, her designated floor. Nandini walked further until she bumped into someone.

"I'm sorry!" Nandini apologized and looked up to see Inaya fuming at her.

"How dare you bloody bi*ch!" Inaya's roared.

"Excuse me! You cannot curse at office. It's against the core standards. Apologize first!" Nandini shouted equally which gained everyone's attention.

"Do you know whom you're talking to?" Inaya asked fuming.

"Are you the CEO or the Chairman of this company? Even if you are the core standards are the same for you," Nandini replied back calmly but the anger was visible in her voice.

Before Inaya could say anything they heard a stern authoritative voice.

"Apologize first!" the man said.

All of them heard the voice and saw both Manik and Cabir standing there with a stern expression on their faces. Both of them strode towards Nandini-Inaya duo.

"Apologize!" Manik said looking at Nandini.

"But..." Nandini was cut off by Manik.

"Apologize Miss Sagar!" Manik said tearing his gaze from Nandini.

"Sir but...." Inaya tried to give an explanation when Manik shouted.

"Apologize or else you're fired!"

"Im sorry" Inaya said looking down.

Apparently Manik and Cabir were down at that floor when they heard the shouts. They had clearly heard everything and were agitated. No employee could behave like this with the other. It was against their company core standards.

"Leave all of you" Cabir said and everyone dispersed.

"You also leave Miss Murthy and from the next time I don't want such things happening" Cabir warned.

Nandini nodded and left. Inaya left to her cabin humiliated while Manik and Cabir too left to their respective cabins. The day passed and it was evening.

Inaya came to Manik's cabin in the pretence of a file. Manik looked at her and again got back to work.

"How could you support her Manik?" Inaya asked.

"Just the way you shouted at her for no mistake" Manik replied in a plain tone.

"But....." she tried to say something when Manik got up from his chair.

"Listen Inaya you're just another girl on bed for me. You are not special. Don't fly high you get that. Now leave if you have no work" Manik dismissed her.

Inaya left. Though she didn't have any relationship with Manik she thought that he might be a little favourable to her but whom was she joking. He was Manik Malhotra. No one mattered to him when it came to work. He was a disciplined man at office and there was no second thought on that.

Nandini had a few doubts and decided to go to Manik's cabin to get them cleared. She knocked and after getting an affirmative reply she went in.

"Sir I had a few doubts regarding this script" Nandini said.

Manik asked her to get seated and started looking into the file. He cleared her doubts and she mentally note of all of them so that in the future she would remember it. After getting the doubt cleared she got up and smiled at him.

"Thank you Manik" she said.

"Its my duty to clear your doubts Miss Murthy" Manik said.

"I was thanking you for the morning incident" Nandini replied.
"Don't fly high Nandini. I just did what I had to do as the boss. I did nothing for you Nandini. I would never do. You're just an employee to me nothing more nothing less" Manik said.

"I was never anything to you. Not now not ever. How could I forget that? Stupid me! Thanks for the reality check. Goodbye!" Nandini said in a choking voice and left his cabin.

"Damn! It hurts to hurt you but you deserve this!" Manik said punching his mahogany table.
