When something happens that you’ve been strongly believing would happen, there’s nothing more satisfying than that. I had the same feeling right now. I felt so relieved, knowing the fact that Inaaya, or anyone from my company, was involved in the robbery. We had informed the police about this and they were investigating the matter. I had told them to take extra care that the news doesn’t spread.

I went to the hospital where In Maya's mother was admitted. When I asked the receptionist, I came to know that she was in the ICU. The ICU was on the same floor, so I trudged towards it. I saw Inaaya sitting on a chair, her head in her hands without any movement.

She’s probably sleeping. I thought to myself. I decided not to disturb her. I sat next to her, slowly without making any sound. As soon as I sat, she moved a bit. She raised her head slowly and turned her head towards me. Her eyes were squinted. She was adjusting her eyes to the light and when she finally saw me clearly, she stood up all of a sudden.

‘Sir? You here?’ She asked.

‘Sit down.’ I said. She hesitated for a second and when I gestured to her to have a seat, she obliged. She looked so different without makeup. She was pale and her eyes were red from crying. Her cheeks had turned pink and yet she looked pretty.

‘I got to know that your mother was taken to the hospital. That’s why I came here. How is she by the way?’

‘She’s stable now. It wasn’t very serious. We thought she had an attack but actually she had fainted due to low blood pressure.’ She said,

‘Thank god!’ I exclaimed.

‘How did you know I was here by the way?’ She asked.

‘Actually, your neighbor told me about it. I went to your house to meet you.’ I replied.

‘Why sir? Is there anything important?’ She asked.

For the next few minutes, I explained everything to her about the alleged robbery.

‘What!? When did this happen?’ She asked in shock.

‘A few hours ago, I guess. I called everyone to the office and let them know about this. I called you but you didn’t pick up and that’s why I’m here.’ I explained.

‘So you think I did it?’ She asked slowly.

‘Nope. Everyone else believed that but I knew you wouldn’t do it. I came here personally to prove them wrong.’ I said and she smiled.

‘What’s the next step?’ She asked, worriedly.

‘I guess we’ll have to get the cops involved. There’s o other way now. Everything seems like a dead end.

‘I’m sure everything will be alright soon.’

‘I hope so.’ I said and got up.

‘I’m gonna go back to the office and see what I can do.’ I said.

‘Wait, I’ll come too.’ She said, getting up.

‘No, you stay here. Your mother needs you the most right now.’ I said.

‘But….’

‘No buts and ifs. You stay here. I’ll call you if I need your help, I promise.’ I interrupted.

‘Okay. Take care.’ She said, I smiled and left.

I was back at the office and everyone was still there. It’s like no one had moved even an inch. For the first time in my life, I felt sorry for my employees.

‘So? Is it her? Inaaya?’ Nandini asked, her eyes full of worry.

‘Nope, it isn’t her.’ I said.

Everyone started muttering as to who might be beyond all this after all.

‘I think we’ll have to get the police involved now. There’s no other way.’ I announced.

‘But sir, you itself said that we cannot include the police in this.’ Someone said,

‘I know. But we don’t have any other way. We’ll tell them to keep the matter under the covers.’ I said and everyone nodded in agreement.

‘Plus, I know a friend who works in the police force. I’ll let him in this case.’ I said, suddenly remembering about Karan.

‘Good.’ Nandini said.

‘As for us, we’ll keep advertising and promoting our collection on social media. We still have time until the due date. If we get to know who is behind this within a week or so and recover everything we’ve lost, we will continue our work and if we don’t, then we’ll restart this with a different theme. Anyways, no one else should even get a slight amount of doubt about this. This stays between us.’ I said.

Everyone nodded.

‘You guys go home and take a rest. Work resumes tomorrow.’ I said and the office was empty within the next couple of minutes with the exception of me and Nandini.

I called Karan and told him everything.

‘I’ll start working on the case from right now and I promise I’ll keep this undercover. I’m positive we’ll find who is behind all this.’ He said.

‘Thanks a lot buddy. It really means a lot.’

‘Anything for you.’ He said.

5 Days Later :-

I was in my office, going through some paperwork. I had lost all hopes of finding who was behind the robbery. I was already deciding on a new, different theme. I got a phone call and it was from Karan.

‘Hello.’ I said.

‘Manik, I’ve dug through everything I can and it looks like I found out who’s behind all this.’ He said.

‘What?’ I asked, my heart beating faster.

‘Yeah, it’s true that Martin & Co had advertised their Summer collection and it was the same as yours but they weren’t the ones that stole it. There is an agency that delivers the goods to them. And this agency is the one responsible.’ He explained.

‘What agency?’

‘It goes by the name ‘Supreme Agencies’ and their work is to deliver goods to a lot of companies and they like to keep their work under secrecy but I dug it out anyway. I’m telling you they are the one.’ He said.

‘Who runs this agency?’ I asked.

‘Someone by the name Cabir Malhotra.’ He said.
