"Have you heard of Orilon?" I asked. "Nope." Daniel answered as I looked at the map. "I swear to god if the place is freezing I might die." I sighed. "I'm pretty sure it's not cold I mm-HOLY CRAP IT'S FREEZING!!" Daniel yelled as we crossed the river and it got hot again.

"What the heck?" I asked as I felt warmer. "I think that's Orilon down there." Daniel said as he pointed to the village surrounded by lava. "LAVA!" I yelled jumping in. "What is with you and lava?" Daniel asked chuckling. "It's like how I told you when we first met. Lava is gooey fire." I explained as I saw this little girl staring at me. "Hi little one." I greeted as I placed my arm on the edge of the village. "Um miss how are you not dead?" The little girl asked.

"Well honey I'm the fire vessel, so this is just like swimming in a pool. Better question why is your village surrounded by lava?" I asked. "Um I forgot. Let me ask Mira." The little girl answered as she ran to a tent and came out with a girl about my height had purple hair and was wearing a white dress. "Who are you?" The lady asked. "I'm Vanessa and that's Daniel." I introduced as I pointed to Daniel. "Why are you on in my village?" Mira asked. "Cause Lorenza wanted us to ask you if you want to participate in the war against Rose and Irene." Daniel answered as the lady got furious.

"Hell no! That lady cause all of this!" Mira yelled as she pointed her finger to the lava.

"Huh?" I asked as be and Daniel got onto land.

"She made this! This used to be a ocean! But now it's a frickin pit of lava! We haven't gotten food or water in the last 10 weeks." Mira explained.

"So sorry we can't join unless you can somehow get the lave away and bring back the water. Then sure, we'll join but if you can please go." Mira said as me and Daniel chuckled.

"What's so funny?" Mira asked.

"Oh honey... Vanessa is the fire vessel, if anyone could get rid of that lava it's Vanessa."Daniel answered as I cracked my knuckles.

"Okay here's the deal. If you can make that fire go away by sundown tomorrow, my village will join you army. But, if you can't we get to keep Daniel here forever." Mira explained as she smirked and my eyes almost fell out of their sockets.

"Say what now!?" I asked almost yelling.

"You heard me red-head, you boy here is kinda cute." Mira answered as she snapped her fingers and everything froze.

"Listen honey, your boy is pretty cute, so if I win this bet you leave this village forever and I get to keep Daniel." Mira explained smirking.

"And why would I ever agree to that!!!?" I asked.

"Cause you and I both know that you would do anything for us to join your little army. Anything." Mira answered as she whispered the last part in my ear.

"Yeah but I wouldn't let you take Daniel away from me!" I retaliated.

"Please honey do you really think you Daniel actually cared for you? Don't make me laugh! I've been watching you for a while and I can say that Daniel doesn't give a crap about you!" Mira explained as I tried not to tear up.

"So you gonna accept the bet or not?" Mira asked as I nodded wiping away my tears.

Mira smirked and everything unfroze.

"You okay Vanessa?" Daniel asked as I ignored his question and walked to the lake of lava.

"Okay Vanessa focus, forget what Mira said Daniel does love you." I said as I looked at the lava.

I took a deep breath in and let it out as I placed my hands in the lava.

As the lava soaked up into my hand I was proud for a few seconds but then it burned. Really badly.

"Agh!" I groaned as the lava went back to the lake.

"What the heck? This never happens to me?" I asked myself as Daniel and Mira walked up to me.

"You okay Vanessa?" Daniel asked as me I nodded and gave him a fake smile.

"Okay..." Daniel said as he walked away.

"Just you wait honey in just a few hours Daniel will be mines." Mira whispered as I got pissed.

"Aww did I hit a nerve?" Mira asked as she walked away.

"Come on Vanessa!" I motivated myself as I tried again but got burned.

"So Daniel do you really think Vanessa can do this?" I asked as me and Daniel sat on the edge of the village.

"I know Vanessa, she's the perfect person for this job." Daniel answered as I growled a bit.

"So what's your deal with Vanessa? You serious about her?" I asked.

"Oh course! She's everything I ever wished for in a girl!" Daniel answered.

"What do you mean? I know that you thought about leaving Vanessa once or twice." I smirked.

"Why would I, she's the best thing in my life." Daniel answered as he laid down on the ground.

"Ugh! You are so clueless!" I said quietly.

"What?"

"Nothing, Daniel come on it's me you don't need to lie about like Vanessa." I said as Daniel chuckled.

"Why would I lie about that? I love Vanessa with all my heart." Daniel said.

"What is so special about Vanessa that you like her so much?" I asked.

"She's amazing! She makes me laugh when I'm sad. She picks me up when I'm down. She cared about me when no one did. She's tough. Forgiving, kind, loving, beautiful, powerful, a little stubborn, but all and all the one thing I love about about Vanessa is that she just like me, she had a hard life just like I did, her parents left her, but it sucks that I have to leave her after this war! God I hate this thing!" Daniel explained as I looked at him weirdly.

"What do you mean?" I asked as he rolled up his sleeve as it showed a tattoo of a chain that went all the way up to his shoulder.

"What is that?" I asked.

"It's hard to explain, but me and the other 5 boys have this, it's hard to explain but it's sucks if you have it." Daniel explained sorta.

"Does Vanessa know?" I asked.

"No, she can't it would break her heart, well I guess I can explain it to you." Daniel answered as he explained everything to me. Every. Single. Detail.

At the end of it all I hugged him.

"I'm so sorry... why would they do that to you 6 when you were just little kids." I said as he hugged me back.

"Look Mira you have to promise me you won't tell the vessels, cause the will looks for us! And we can't let the happen." Daniel told me as I nodded.

"We knew this coming in. We knew that we only had 15 years here. And when we found the vessels it just made matters worse. Way worse. They can't find us! The place where we are going is bad especially for them." Daniel warned me.

"Daniel, I can sense Vanessa's power I'm pretty sure she can hand this and keeping a secret as big as this one from her is really bad. I think you should tell her." I suggested as Daniel shook his head.

"We can't! If we get the wrapped into this it will just make matters worse! And plus it's for their safety too. The effect of this chain can make you go insane! Now promise me even if the sky was falling you can't tell Vanessa!" Daniel said as I nodded sadly.

"Wait! It's not hot anymore!" Daniel smiled as i look to the lake to see water.

"She did it. Well I'll be damned." I said as me and Daniel ran towards Vanessa to see the was knocked out.

"Vanessa wake up!" Daniel yelled as Vanessa shot her eyes opened.

"Did I do it?" Vanessa asked.

"Yeah you do." Daniel answered as he kissed her.

As I looked at the two of them I could now tell exactly why Daniel loved Vanessa.

She's his light in the darkness.
