I arrived at work about 5 minutes late. "Where were you?" My boss asked. "Oh I uh..." I needed to think of a believable explanation for this. "I don't have all day" "I accidentally forgot to set my alarm this morning." I said. "Ok, but don't do this again. And get back to work!" I went back to work as I got a text from my dad. My dad doesn't text me usually, so I was surprised. The message read, "Hey June! It's your dad. I need you to come over to the house as quick as you can! It is an urgent emergency. Come quick! Love ya! XOXO" That was all it said. After reading it three times, I ran to my boss and told her about it. She let me go so I hopped in the car and drove to my mom and dad's house. "I finally you're here." He said, sadly. "Ok, what is the urgent emergency?!" I said, scared. "Take a look for yourself." I knew this wasn't gonna be good. I nearly screamed when I saw what was on my dad's couch. "M-moms..." I couldn't speak any longer. I started to cry when my dad said, "Your mom has past away. I'm going to need your help with the funeral." I couldn't take it no longer. I accepted it and started getting ready for the funeral. It shall happen in exactly 1 week from now, at noon.
