Hugo let his eyes roam over that vast field. The place was filled by luxurious things that could gave glorious atmosphere to anyone.
Nothing much has changed, in every corner of this house. He can still recall everything he did. He can see that little Hugo who loves to play around and laugh most of the time.
A maid came out from the kitchen and she was surprise to see him.
"Welcome back, Señorito Hugo!" she exclaimed and lower her head to courtesies.
He nod, "I haven't seen Dad since last night. Is he out there somewhere for his business?" asked Hugo.
"Ahh, Senior Hiryu is currently at Australia for a business trip. He flew out three days ago. Maybe he'll come home sooner or later" the maid explained.
Hugo nod, "he should come home. Tomorrow is the fifteenth death anniversary of mom..."
The maid lower her head and didn't tried to speak after that statement.
"You may proceed to your whereabouts, thank you" Hugo said and walked pass her.
Walking out from that gigantic house.
He wandered around and stop when a rottweiler came out of nowhere. It started to growl but he remained calm while eyeing the dog. The dog bark loudly.
A faint smile appeared on Hugo's face, "Hero," he called that shuts the dog's mouth.
This dog was his playmate way back then. Hero was too small and he loves to carry him everywhere he'll go. Now, he was big, loud and powerful.
He kneeled one of his knee to face his old friend, "how's your duty, pup?" the dog bark once that made him chuckle.
A guard appeared so he tap the dog's head before pushing himself up to stand. The guard lowered his head, "Welcome back, Señorito Hugo"
He nod, "take a good care of Hero" he command and walked away.
After wandering around, he walked inside and his foot brought him at the lebensraum.
He stop at the front of that gigantic portrait and looked up. It is a photo of him and his family. He stayed looking up like that for a minute before looking away and lowering his head. They look so happy in that portrait but they aren't.
He turned away and went upstairs, straight to his room and lay on his bed. He stayed like that for a short period of time until an idea popped in his mind. He immediately hop off his bed and walk inside his own storage room where he put his stuffs. He searched for that thing.
That vintage film camera he always carry way back then was placed on a small cabinet. He extended his arm to reach for it. He hope that it would still work. It's been a long time since he held it.
He pressed the power button for a second and the small screen was filled by light. He scanned every memories in that item. He played the video and a little girl appeared on the screen.
He loves her hair, her genuine smile, her dresses and melodic voice. He loves her but she's nowhere to be found now.
"You are a part of me that I will never forget,"
Hugo was in the midst of eating peacefully when an old man stepped inside the dining room and sat on the opposite stool he occupied.
Some maids came out from the kitchen and served him a healthy foods and a glass of warm water together with a half glass of wine.
"Welcome back, Dad" Hugo greeted and slightly lowering his head as a sign of respect.
Old Hiryu nod, "what brought you here?" his father asked and slice the beef on his plate.
"Well, tomorrow is mom's fifteenth death anniversary. I would like to go and visit her. Can't I?" He ask before shoving the wineglass near his lips and took a sip from it.
The man cleared his throat, "do whatever you want, young man" his father replied after a few second.
A faint smile appeared on his lips before sipping some wine again to hide it. They finish the dinner in silent and went to each other's room.
Morning came and Hugo wore his brand new tailored suit from australia, given by his father a few minutes ago. He gelled his hair and showered some perfume before stepping out of his room and go down stairs.
The old man growled when he felt his presence and stood up, "move a little faster, young man. We're getting late" Hiryu stated.
"of course, shall we?" he moved his hand in a gesture.
Hiryu didn't respond but started to walk towards the direction of his mahogany double door to walk out.
He followed after a few second, "join me" Old Hiryu invited him to ride the same car. He was confused but a little happy at the same time.
Hiryu tsked when Hugo wasn't able to move after a few second, "let's save some gas. Fuels are too expensive nowadays" Hiryu added that killed Hugo's joy in a short length of time.
His shoulder sag before stepping inside the car. The drive was too formal, they talked something related to business until they arrive in their exact destination which is the cemetery.
Silence covered the place, the things you would hear is the wind blow and a mild noise coming from some animals living around.
After a few minutes of walking, they arrived at the front of Hecate's tomb. The surroundings are neat and clean. Away from grassy area.
He place some white roses on the ground while old Hiryu tenderly laid a bunch of red roses on the ground. Not that far from his.
Those red roses are Hecate's favorite, Hiryu always bought a bunch of it daily just for his wife.
He can see how his father love his mom so much. He witness how his father tormented after Hecate got into an incident and her death was announce before the ambulance arrive at the hospital.
Today, he can still see the same amount of pain in Hiryu's eyes and that broke his heart. He wasn't over with his past.
"Dad..." he called for him but he didn't replied.
"Mom wouldn't be happy seeing you like that," Hugo stated.
"How do I look?" the old Hiryu ask, still not taking his eyes off Hecate's grave.
"You look still the same, like you lost mom yesterday..." he murmured.
Old Hiryu replied after a short period of silence, "I just miss your mom, that's why"
He nod, "for sure she feel the same way. She loves having you around when she's alive"
"You're too observant, young man" Hiryu said that made him smile.
"I... I just love watching you guys. You look so affectionate and carefree when you're with her" Hugo explained.
A faint smile appeared on Hiryu's face, "Am I?" The old man chuckled that sent joy in Hugo's system. He made his father laugh!
The old man rarely smile and laugh when Hugo's around.
"Yes," he said and nod.
"I don't know what i'm doing, my whole attention are only for your mom..." the smile slowly fade and his head tilted a little.
"... too much attention and love for each other made us forgot that we have kids to cherish too" Hiryu added.
He felt a pang on his chest so suddenly, he can hear sadness in his father's voice.
"Sorry, son. We failed," Hiryu said.
He want to cry after hearing those words from his father. He bit his lips to prevent a sob trying to escape from his lips caused by his emotion.
"We failed as a parents, I just realize it when your mom passed away and all of you started to live your own life. I was left alone. I'm sorry for being irresponsible and asshole father. I hope i'm not yet late..." Hiryu said.
Hugo smiled and nod, "you always arrive on time, dad" he joked.
The old man chuckled again before pulling him for a hug. A tear escaped from his eyes, he felt his father embrace for the first time. It feel so warm.
They remained like that before his father released him. Hiryu's facial expression softened when he saw his son's wet face.He dried it with his hand and tap Hugo's head like a kid.
"You're too fragile, son. I should take a good care of you from now on" the old man jest that made them laugh.
"Where's your boyfie, son?" Asked by Vito's mother in the midst of their family dinner.
He groaned, the woman keep asking that of question again and again. It wouldn't give him a peace of mind.
"I haven't seen him yet after staying here for almost a weak. Tell me..." his mom leaned closer. Good thing the table was too long that could distance him fron her.
"did you guys broke up?" she continued.
"We did not!" He exclaimed.
The woman look shock with his sudden reaction so he apologize.
"I was just asking, you don't need to raise your voice at me!" she yield.
"I said sorry," he replied.
the woman rolled her eyes, "where is he then?"
Vito struggled, "somewhere, I guess"
"Somewhere? You didn't bother to ask?!" she exclaimed.
He groaned again, "mom, if he want me to know. He would tell me. I don't want to ask, it's his privacy and I respect that" he said and wiped his lips using Hugo's handkerchief. The fragrant of his man linger in his nostril.
His mother's facial expression changed, "wait! Isn't that the handkerchief that your grandmother made for you?" she said. Pointing at the handkerchief he was holding.
His forehead creased, "huh? Hugo gave it to me and as far as I could remember. I gave grandma's handkerchief to a girl way back then when I saw her crying."
His mother shook her head, "she embroid your name on it and that handkerchief you are holding right now has your name. This is not a coincident, they have the same threads, stitches and design!"
He was stunned by his mother's statement and unfold the handkerchief and there it is. It was his name, she's right.
"Could she be him?"
