~Yuki's pov~

I opened my eyes and my room was lit up with light.  Rubbing my eyes I sat up and looked at the window.  The curtains had been opened up.

'Who was in my room? Don't tell me..'

I pinched the bridge of my nose and let out a groan.

"He's such a pervert watching me sleep."

I checked my body to make sure he didn't do anything to me and sighed in relief.  My clock had 8:30 on it and since it was a weekend I managed to sleep in a bit.  I went on with my usual morning routine and after I did what I needed to do upstairs I then went downstairs.  Yui was up at the table eating some toast and eggs while Ichiru was cooking his own breakfast.

"Morning." I greeted.

"Morning Onee-san!" Yui said.

"Morning Yuki.  Want me to cook you something?" Ichiru said.

"No thanks, I can cook myself something."

I looked through the cabinets and found oatmeal packets in the lower part.  I grabbed one and put the mix in a bowl, put it in the microwave and waited for it to cook.

"How can you eat oatmeal?" Ichiru asked.

"They're different flavors."

"It's still gross..All mushy and stuff." Ichiru said sticking his tongue out.

I shrugged my shoulders and he went back to cooking.

"I also have work today at the café."

"What do we do with Yui?" Ichiru asked.

"I can take her with."

"Yeah! Cake! Cake! Cake!" Yui shouted.

"Maybe, I would have to ask." I said.

The timer went off and that was my queue to take out the oatmeal.  I placed the bowl at the table and began to eat.  After I finished eating I checked the clock.

'I still have a little bit of time.'

I went upstairs, put my hair up into a ponytail, got my shoes and went back downstairs.

"Yui you ready?"

"Waaaait. I gotta get dressed!" She ran upstairs and I stood there waiting. 

Yui came back down five minutes later with her backpack and we both went to the café.

"I want you to be quiet while upstairs and if you need anything ask Shirogane.

"Haaaiii." She said.

We both got the café and the time was close to opening the doors.

"Yuki you made it." Ichigo said.

"Yup, I do have a job to do." I said

I took Yui upstairs into an empty room and went back down heading to the changing room.  I thought about what happened last night and felt where my stone is and thankfully it is still there.  I sighed in relief and got changed into my uniform and went out.

"Hey Yuki can you come help us put up these decorations?" Ichigo asked.

"What are we decorating for?"

"It is October so that means Halloween." Lettuce answered.

"I didn't know that this place decorated for the holidays."

"We do for the big holidays like this one." Kei said.

I nodded and helped with decorations.  We put up bats, spider webs with fake spiders hanging down, black and orange streamers and table cloths of the same color on each table.  Ichigo put a witch hat on Mint which annoyed her so she slapped it away.  I chuckled and we soon opened up for the day.

After Work

After the last customer left we all began to clean up the tables and floors.  I did the mopping after pudding swept up.  I rubbed my forehead after getting the floor entirely cleaned up.

"Great work today girls.  All of you get home safely especially you Yuki." Kei announced.

"I will thanks." 

We all got changed into our regular clothes and went our separate ways.

"Can I have some cake Onee-chan?"  Yui asked looking at me with big eyes.

I sweat dropped and chuckled.

"Perhaps we can make some cake at home."

"Yes! Cake! Cake! Cake!" She squealed jumping up and down.

While we walked home I kept my guard up waiting for something or someone to appear at any moment.  Yui and I got home safely and quickly.  We went inside and I began to make dinner.

"What are we having?" Yui asked.

"I'm going to cook us some tacos.  We haven't made those in a while."

"I love Tacos! I don't want any lettuce on mine though." She said.

"Okay, okay no lettuce on yours."

"Yeah!"

Just then my phone rang.  I had Yui answer it and she walked over holding it out.

"It's a boy!"

I blinked in confusion and took it from her.  I used my shoulder to hold it against my ear while I stirred the meat.

"Hello?"

"Hey Yuki. It's Ace."

"Oh hi. How's it going?"

"Good. What about you?"

"Fine, I'm making dinner right now."

"What are you having?"

"Tacos."

"Never had those before."

"Really? I'll have to make some for you sometime."

"Yes you will.  Is your brother home?"

"Uh no he doesn't get home for another two hours. Why?"

"Well since you're having dinner I was going to see if you wanted to go get some ice cream say around 9?"

"Oh I wasn't expecting this.  Sure that sounds like fun."

"Great I'll meet you at your house."

"Sounds good see you at nine tonight. Bye."

"Bye."

We both hung up and I began thinking about why he suddenly invited me to go get ice cream.

'Does he like me? Is it because we are friends? It could be many reasons why.'

I got dinner done twenty minutes later and served the table.  Yui sat in her spot and decorated her taco how she wanted.  I did the same with mine and we both ate in silence.  After dinner had past, I cleaned up the kitchen, and put the leftovers in containers then in the fridge for Ichiru to have when he comes home.  I put the dishes in the dishwasher and checked the time.  The time was 7:30 now.  Ichiru would be home in an hour.  Around eight I got Yui into the bathroom for her nightly shower then got ready myself.  I changed into warmer clothes and got socks on.

'I'll shower when I get home.'

It was nearly 8:20 when I heard the door open and shut.  I went downstairs and Ichiru was taking off his shoes and putting his hat on the rack.

"How was your day?"

"Long. Yours?"

"Same here.  Yui is brushing her teeth right now. I uh am going to go meet up with a friend around nine to get ice cream."

"A friend? It better not be that boy."

"Ichiru I'm 16 I can take care of myself...mostly."

"Key word: Mostly.  Keep pepper spray with you and your phone on volume high."

"Yes Ichiru. They're leftovers of dinner in the fridge."

"What did you make?"

"Tacos."

"Sounds good, thanks."

I gathered the items I planned on carrying in my purse before sitting down on the couch.  Ichiru was helping himself to the leftovers and I waited for Ace to get here.

"Do you want me to tuck Yui in?"

"Could you?"

"Of course."

I went upstairs and brushed Yui's hair then braided it into two pigtails.  I tucked her in her bed and kissed her forehead.

"Goodnight Yui sweet dreams."

"Goodnight Onee-chan."

I turned on her nightlight, turned off her room light and closed the door quietly leaving it opened just a crack.  I made my way downstairs and right as I was close to the bottom I heard a knock.  Ichiru beat me to the door and opened it.

"Listen punk if she isn't home by 10:30 I'm going to kick your ass. Don't try anything either.  I swear if she comes home with a hickey it'll be a worse ass kicking."

"Yes daddy." Ace snickered.

"Ichiru! Stop being so embarrassing! It's not a date just hanging out!"

"I got to lay down the law here since I am the authority." He said.

"Yeah huh. I'll be back in a bit."

"Better be. I do have the police on speed dial hint hint." Ichiru warned.

I face palmed and walked out closing the door behind quietly mumbling under my breath of how embarrassed I felt.

"I'm sorry about him.."

"He doesn't intimidate me so it's fine."

"So where are we going to get ice cream?"

"There is a place near the park that is open 24 hours a day."

"Sounds good lead the way."

Ace rode over on a motorcycle which was pretty cool.  We both got on helmets strapped on tight then sped off.  It was quiet and peaceful at night.  No one was hardly on the streets and some stores were still open.  The only light we had was the lamps off the street.  We eventually arrived at the ice cream shop ten minutes later.  He parked his motorcycle and we both got off.

"Have a nice ride?" He asked.

"Yeah thanks.  I didn't know you owned a motorcycle."

"There is a lot of things you don't know about me."

"I'm sure I'll find out some more in time."

He held the door open for me as we got closer to the store. I thanked him and walked inside with him walking in after.  I looked around and then my gaze went to the menu.  They had tons of flavors and quite a few that I liked so this was going to be a difficult choice.

"See any you want?"

"I do, but it's difficult to choose."

"I know that feeling, but I know what flavor I want."

Both of us chose the flavors we wanted.  I stuck with vanilla with strawberries in it and he got caramel truffle.  I walked out of the store with Ace following and we both headed toward the park.  I spotted a bench nearby the pond that connected to a river and sat at it leaving enough room for Ace to sit beside.

"So why did you invite me? I'm just curious."

"I thought it be a nice thing to do and we are friends anyway."

"That's true.  Well thanks."

"No problem."

Ace began eating his ice cream while staring off at the lake.  I relaxed leaning back against the cold bench and ate mine as well.  I took a deep breath of the cold crisp air of this October night and felt truly relaxed.  No aliens. No chimeras. Just me and a friend hanging out.  It was nice having a break for once.  The night was silent nothing stirring even the wind wasn't blowing.  I felt a bit unsettled though.  Having it this quiet wasn't normal for me.  The feeling I had was right.  Just as the silence went on it was soon disturbed by Ace being dragged off the bench and toward the water. There was some kind of tentacle like thing around his ankle.

"Yuki!" Ace shouted his hands digging into the ground making marks in the dirt as he was dragged.

I quickly dropped my ice cream and ran toward the water grabbing his arm and pulling as hard as I could.  The creature that had a hold of him was stronger than I was. His hand slipped from mine and I fell back onto the bank.  I watched Ace being dragged into the water.

"Ace!"

I got up and was thrown back instantly.  I shook my head and I was pinned against the ground by someone stronger than I was.

"Koneko chan~. I've missed you so much."

"Kisshu?! Get off me!"

"Stop cheating on me with that human already I have already declared you mine and it'll stay that way~."

"I'm not cheating on anyone and I am not your girlfriend or anything! Ace is my friend! Let me go he'll drown!"

"That is the whole point~.  I don't like my toys shared with other males of any species."

I struggled to get my arms free but he didn't budge a bit.

"Let me go! I don't want him to drown!"

"A deal is in need of then. Come with me no fights or plans of trying to escape and I let him go simple as that."

I looked over at the water and bubbles were slightly rising to the surface and I bit my lip thinking the worst had happened.

"Make your choice. Your freedom or his life."

'I don't want Ace to die because of me...I need more strength I need more power! No one will die because of me!'

I felt anger boiling inside me.  I felt like a cornered animal and I absolutely hated it.  I could feel myself changing and becoming angrier by the moment.  My whole body felt like it was on fire and I could feel my strength rising.  I clenched my hands into tight fists and tensed up my whole body.  My arms began to slowly rise off pushing Kisshu back.  I got an arm loose and threw him off my body.  I saw nothing but him.  He was my target. My prey. The thing I wanted to destroy.  I didn't have time for him though I had to destroy that chimera.  I dived into the lake and swam with all my might.  It was strange.  My eyesight underwater was crystal clear and I didn't feel the need to hold my breath.  As I got deeper and deeper into the lake I could make out two silhouettes in the moonlight.  Ace was clawing at the tentacle that was actually a whisker of a large koi chimera.  I swam faster and bit one of the whiskers of the creature and it lashed out.  I swam over to the one holding Ace and did the same thing.  My teeth actually severed the whisker in half.  I grabbed onto Ace and swam up to the surface.  The surface got closer and closer then we breached it.  Ace coughed violently and floated next to me.

"Get to the-"

Suddenly I was dragged down by the creature and I looked down at it.  I clawed at the tentacle as I was dragged closer and closer to the creature.  I managed to severe that whisker as well and swam a few feet away from it.  The fish thrashed in pain and fresh blood begin to spill from it.  I summoned my weapon and got it charged up.  I swung it as fast as I could in the water above my head and shot my attack at the fish and it went back to two forms.  A parasitic jellyfish and the actual koi itself.  I swam up to the surface changing back when I got close enough and engulfed a large breath of air.  I coughed a bit and swam to the shore worn out.  As I got onto my knees to crawl onto the shore two hands helped pulled me up the rest of the way.  I looked up and Ace was looking over me with concern in his face.

"You okay?" He asked.

"Y-yeah."

"Well I guess you'll live for another day human.  Koneko-chan don't get yourself killed next time because I can't do anything with a dead body." I heard the alien snicker from above.

I looked up and he floated in the sky, arms folded, and anger rising in his eyes at the sight of us.  I coughed a bit and wiped some water off my face.

"Don't you try this again! I will always succeed in saving my friends and family!"

"With what you have it seems so.  I'll be back again to play."

With those final words he vanished into the night sky. Ace and I were soaked to the bone. 

"Man he is a psycho.  Let's get you home before you catch a cold."

Ace picked me up and carried me back home.  He put me down in front of the door and I began wringing out my jacket.

"I-I'm sorry about what happened."  I said.

"Nah, don't worry about it.  I always wanted to go for a midnight swim under the full moon." Ace said chuckling.

I smiled knowing he wasn't upset.

"Hurry and get inside before you get sick."

"You need to hurry home too.  I don't want you sick either." I said.

He smiled and his face relaxed.  I smiled back and right as I touched the door handle with my hand Ace planted a kiss on my cheek and walked away after.  I watched him as my face burned up a little bit. 

'He was quick about it too.'

I blinked and he turned his face with a small smirk on his face.  He waved and kept walking down the sidewalk.  I shyly waved back and couldn't think straight so I kept missing the key to go into the door handle.  I shook my head and eventually got it in and went inside.  Going upstairs I replayed what had happened only moments ago.  I got into the shower, then into warm clothes and soon into my bed.  I fell asleep dreaming of what else could have happened.
