I lost the rainbow stone. The stone that could end the human race now that it was in the hands of the enemy. The chimeras had been dealt with at the festival and it was left in ruins. Ambulances, firefighters, and medics filled the scene rescuing people and putting out fires. The mews had gathered together at the cafe around 12:10 A.M including Zakuro and Minto who were in another area of the festival when the attack happened. Ichiru and Yui had also come to the cafe and I had called Asumi and Miyu to make sure they were okay. Asumi dragged a body through burning rubble causing her to get burned, and was being checked out by medics. Miyu  had bruises and cuts from rubble that had fallen on top of her from what they told me. I was relieved knowing they had escaped with minor injuries. I was a bit worried about Asumis burns since they could have been worst but she assured me they weren't nothing to be concerned about. The team plus Ichiru and Yui sat at tables while the cafe was closed for the day. I sat at a table putting my elbow on the table and leaning my head into my hand and shut my eyes as my body still had the cold and heavy feeling all over. A hand touched my arm rubbing it gently. I didn't open my eyes as I knew who it was.

"So..what do we do?" Lettuce asked trying to break the silence that had engulfed the cafe.

I heard a small childish yawn and had a feeling it was Yui since it was late into the new year. Due to the event that happened no one had thought about celebrating the new year at all at least not at the moment.

"What we need to do is figure out how to get the rainbow stone back. That is our main objective." Shirogane replied.

"I could possibly teleport there and get it." Kisshu offered.

That caused me to raise my head and looked to him with worry growing in my gut. This was a bad idea especially for him to go alone.

"And what if you get caught?" Zakuro asked.

"I simply teleport out." He replied.

"I..no you aren't going alone." I spoke up which caused him to turn his head toward me.

"I can get in and out."

"It would be three against one. I don't think it will be as easy as you think." 

"She has a point. They have been working hard to get the stone and now they have it. They won't just give it to you." Shirogane told him.

"I suggest you take two other mews with you to make it a better chance of getting it." Kei said.

"I'm going. I don't want to hear any arguments." I told them sitting up straighter as others turned their attention to me.

"I'll go too." Ichigo offered standing up.

"Does anyone else want to go?"

"I will. I don't think I can sit by and wait." Lettuce told us a determined look in her light blue eyes.

"We will start tomorrow." Shirogane announced.

"Why not tonight?! It is crucial we get it back!" I said standing up out of my seat.

"Do you not see how tired everyone is?" He asked gesturing to the others.

I let out a frustrated sigh as I pinched the bridge of my nose feeling more frustrated.

"We will go tomorrow and that is final. Now everyone needs to get as much rest as they can. We will meet here around 10 in the morning. Be safe." With that Shirogane began heading upstairs to his bedroom in the cafe and Kei followed suit.

Kisshu rubbed my back trying to comfort me. I looked down not making eye contact and the four of us had left heading back to our home. Yui had already fallen asleep and by the time we got there it was already past 12:30. Kisshu and I had gone up to my room and went to bed. All the stress and worry allowed me to fall asleep just by laying there for a few moments.

~Ace's pov~

After getting back to our dimension I began immediate analysis on the stone placing it in a container and typing on the keyboard seeing what sort of data we could get from it.

"Deep blue sama will definitely be delighted to hear we have recovered it." Pai spoke as he walked over to me standing beside.

I rolled my eyes as he stated the obvious. I had caught it by myself without the help of these worthless helpers Deep blue had sent to Earth in the first place. I folded my arms as I watched the data begin to show starting from the visual of it itself and that was in it. 

"Hey! I brought something for us to try!" Taruto spoke up.

I growled in annoyance as this child annoyed me like you wouldn't believe. Why Deep blue chose to have this child come to earth is beyond me. I thought I play along and turned to him as he held a box out to me and Pai. I had human food before and in honesty it wasn't that bad. 

"Humans call it chocolate and it looks weird but tastes good!" He said floating next to us.

Grabbing a piece out of the box I took a bite tasting something more then chocolate. I looked at it noticing a darker chocolate in it. Taking another I went back to looking at the analysis of the stone. The computer began breaking down the components of the stone from the shell to the core which there was only a dim light in the core. No blue aqua just a little ball.

"What the hell?!" I shouted walking to the stone and looked over to it.

I took out a piece of blue aqua and held it to the stone. It absorbed it and I walked back to the machine seeing the blue aqua in there now. By now it should have that whole area filled with mew aqua or some sort of power beyond that of blue aqua. There is hardly anything though.

"What is that? Is that all?" Pai asked in his usual calm tone.

"Seems to be..but this makes no sense..I have seen the power first hand.."

"Well the power isn't there now. Seems Deep blue will be disappointed in you." Pai snickered.

"Not endless I find out where that power went too." I snapped.

Turning my attention back to the screen I felt the chocolate begin to melt between my fingers. I looked down at it and took a bite finishing it off. Getting the other one out I bit into it and coconut was the filling. 

"Where could it have gone..Maybe it only has power when someone like a mew has it in their possession..no that doesn't make sense..we can use the mew aqua to strengthen a chimera..but the rainbow stone is like the next level..They shouldn't be that different..The power is hardly there..but in the hands.." 

I sighed deeply and went to take a bite out of the chocolate but froze staring at it.

"You trail off and talking to yourself. You're going crazy." Taruto commented.

"That has to be it.." I mumbled.

"What?" Pai asked.

"Where the power has gone. I may have a hypothesis on what happened to it."

"And will you tell us?"

"No of course not. You two will be reckless with the information. For now. The rainbow stone is useless."

"That isn't something I like to here.."

In an instant the room changed revealing deep blue sama's silhouette. With my back turned to him I turned facing forward tossing the remaining piece of candy aside and bowed getting on my knee as the other two did the same.

"Why is the rainbow stone useless Ace..we have seen its power in the hands of the mews especially the one who's father was foolish enough to try and complete it. These humans are a nuisance and I want them destroyed."

"Deep Blue sama..I assure you I have a prediction on why it is useless and how we can obtain its power."

"See that I am not disappointed."

"Of course."

The dimension changed and all three of us stood up.

"They will come for it. I don't want any fighting." I ordered.

"What?!" Taruto asked.

"Why would we allow them to take it back?" Pai asked along with taruto.

"It is useless to us and to test my hypothesis they need it back." I told them.

"Tch.."

"Why should we listen to you?!" Taruto argued.

"Because Deep Blue sama sees me as a better leader of us then any of you two. He already said you will follow my orders." 

Walking back to the computer I took off the data and walked back over to the stone seeing the shine in it had dimmed. It looked much duller then it did before when I first took it. 

"Just as I thought..and now..we wait"

The next morning

It was time for the mission to start and everyone except Ichiru and Yui had met at the cafe. Ichigo and I had already transformed as the cafe again was closed for the day.

"Make sure to keep communication with us." Shirogane instructed.

"We will be fine." Kisshu told him.

"Ace is much stronger then the other two even you." He added.

"What you say?! I can beat that guy to a bloody pulp!"

"This is no time to argue." I told them  putting a hand on Kisshu's chest making sure he wouldn't lunge at Shirogane.

"Tch! He's asking for a beating." He spat.

"Enough!" I told him sternly.

I let out a short sigh looking away then back at him seeing he turned his head away himself.

"You can argue and fight after we get the stone..let's get going.

Ichigo walked over putting a hand on my shoulder and I held Kisshu's hand and with that he telported us back to the dimension he use to be in. Kisshu lead knowing the place better then anyone else. As we walked I tried listening for any sort of footsteps, noise, but it was all silent. While I concentrated I ended up bumping into Kisshu who had stopped at a doorway. He peeked inside and looked to the two of us and looked back inside. He walked inside and both of us followed watching our surroundings.

"Where are they?" I asked.

"Must be out looking for more mew aqua?" Ichigo asked a bit confused.

"Usually someone would be watching the stone..they should have known we are coming.." Kisshu mumbled.

"Is it a trap?" I asked looking at him.

"Could be..so stay on guard."

The three of us walked over to a container where the rainbow stone was in. No wires or anything attached for analyzing. I looked down on it and its color was so duller and the shine seemed to be gone.

"This is weird..why don't they have anything attached to it for analyzing it? Don't they want it know its power?" Ichigo asked.

"Compared to you humans we have advanced in our technology. this container does a full diagnostic of anything that is put in it. From the screen over there they have already been looking it over, but nothing has been shown.." Kisshu explained walking over to the screen of the computer they used.

He began typing on the keyboard and the lid of the container opened and I quickly reached in grabbing the stone and sighed in relief as I held it close to me. The stone shined  and a warmth washed over me like I had felt when my father held me in his arms. It felt like my connection with my father was back and I would never let the stone get taken again.

"Let's get going." He ordered and we gathered and he teleported us out and back to the cafe.

"That was..rather quick." shirogane stated.

"No one was there." Ichigo told him.

"Why would they allow you to take it?" Kei asked.

"When we have something as powerful as the rainbow stone at least one person would be there to guard it. With no one there it is really suspicious." Kisshu said.

"This isn't adding up." Zakuro commented.

"It's not..what could they be planning..?" Shirogane asked.

"Did they find something else more powerful possibly? Did they give up on the stone and maybe find something else?" Lettuce asked looking to Kisshu.

"I don't think so..at least not that I know of." He replied.

"What matters now is we have it back and my job is to complete it to help both worlds." I announced to everyone.

"Yes, it is definitely a happy time. Now how about we celebrate with some sweets." Kei suggested with his infamous smile.

Going to the back kitchen Kei went to go get some cake he probably prepared for today, and Lettuce chose to follow to help. They brought out a few cakes and some pastries. The rest of us sat down and began eating the delicious, homemade desserts as they were placed on the tables.

~Ace's pov~

Teleporting into the area where our computer was I walked over to the container and saw indeed the stone was gone. 

"Why did we need to teleport out of this dimension?" Pai asked appearing next to me.

"They would have sensed us one way or another. It was best we let it do its job since I know it wouldn't be detected." I told him.

"It's?"

"Of course."

Walking to the computer I floated upward taking something off of the wall that I stuck to it and floated back down revealing the device I had in my hand.

"What is that?" Taruto asked.

"A cell phone I had when I was disguised as a human. I placed before we left." 

"Why would you need that?"

"For this purpose."

I turned it over facing the screen seeing it recording. I hit the red button making it stop. Going into the gallery I pulled up the video and zoomed in.

"How do you know how to work this human device?" Pai asked.

"Humans can be helpful when it benefits them." I simply stated.

I ran the video speeding it up until Yuki had gotten the stone. Once the stone shined I grinned widely.

"So..it is true.."

"What? Your hypothesis?" Pai asked.

"Yes and because it is true it will make it a bit trickier to get the power, but in the end deep blue sama will have  it and we will destroy mankind.."
