Ch 23: We meet in Kenya
June 20th, 2038
It has been almost a year as everything is quiet. No Grimm attacks, Shadow Company is just only in Atlas and now most of Africa is 76% restored thanks to NATO & SATO.
During times of tranquility, it's crucial to continue working towards maintaining stability and addressing any remaining issues. As new challenges arise, it will be essential for nations and organizations to work together in unity to face them.
While it's not uncommon for periods of calm to be followed by new trials, it's also a time for people to cherish the peace and focus on building a better future. Celebrating the progress made so far and preparing for potential challenges ahead can create a strong foundation for continued growth and harmony.
Right now we see US President Lincoln Clinton with a online meeting with Professor Theodore, the Headmaster of Shade Academy, Canadian Prime Minister Jacobs Major, Mexican President Angel Jorge Santos, President of Brazil Larissa Yong Kodô, Professor Ozpin, Prime Minister Ghira Belladonna, Ironwood, Trinidad & Tobago 10th President Destra Richards and Cuban President Ramón Díaz.

President of Brazil Larissa Yong Kodô
Lincoln: Ironwood, your mic is muted again.
Ironwood: My apologies, Mr. President. Can you hear me now?
Lincoln: Yes, we can hear you. Now, let's continue with the meeting. As you all know, the world has been experiencing a period of peace and progress, thanks to the combined efforts of our nations and the various Huntsmen academies. However, we must not become complacent. There are still threats out there, and we need to be prepared.
Ozpin: I couldn't agree more, Mr. President. While the Grimm threat has diminished, there might be other challenges lurking in the shadows. It's essential to remain vigilant and ensure our defenses are ready to respond if needed.
Ghira: Indeed. We must continue to collaborate and share intelligence to address any potential threats. Our nations have proven that when we work together, we can achieve great things.
Jacobs: I also want to stress the importance of maintaining strong diplomatic relations between our countries. Cooperation and open communication are crucial for lasting peace and prosperity.
Ramón: I concur. We've seen significant progress in international relations over the past months, and it's vital to continue fostering those positive connections.
Lincoln: Agreed. Additionally, I believe we should focus on promoting education and cultural exchange between our nations. Understanding and respecting each other's cultures can further strengthen our bonds.
Professor Theodore: As the Headmaster of Shade Academy, I can attest to the power of cultural exchange among our students. It helps build empathy and understanding, which are vital qualities for future leaders.
Angel: I fully support that initiative. Investing in education and empowering the younger generations will ensure a more stable and harmonious world in the future.
Larissa: I couldn't agree more. Our youth represents the hope for tomorrow, and we must do everything we can to nurture and support their growth.
Destra Richards: We also need to address the issue of climate change. The restoration efforts have been commendable, but we must continue to tackle environmental challenges worldwide.
Lincoln: You are absolutely right. Climate change is a global issue that requires collective action. We should continue to implement sustainable practices and explore ways to protect our planet.
Ghira: My daughter, Blake, has been advocating for Faunus rights and equality in both Vale and Mistral. I believe it's essential for us to address any lingering discrimination and ensure equal opportunities for all.
Lincoln: Thank you, Prime Minister, for bringing up that important matter. Equality and justice are fundamental principles we must uphold in our societies.
Ozpin: In times of peace, we must not forget the lessons learned from our past conflicts. History has shown us the consequences of division and aggression, and we must strive to prevent such tragedies from happening again.
Lincoln: Absolutely, Professor Ozpin. Let us learn from history and work towards building a better, more united world.
As the meeting continues, the leaders and representatives discuss various topics, ensuring that they remain focused on maintaining peace, cooperation, and progress in their respective nations and across the world. Together, they strive to create a brighter future for everyone.
Suddenly, Vice President Steven Jacobs arrives in the Oval Office where Lincoln is having the online meeting.
Lincoln: What's up, Steve?
Steven: It's a letter. From the Atlas Council.
When he said that, both the room and on the online meeting chat turned cold. Steven opens the envelope and hands the letter to Lincoln as he reads aloud.
"Dear NOTO, SOTO, Animals from Menagerie, Vale, Vacuo and Mistral,
It has come to our attention that due to the events from the last four years and several months that you lot should just turn in any soldier to our authorities. Including general Dusten Waller, James Ironwood and the White Fang leader Sienna Khan. We also demand that NOTO, SOTO, Animals from Menagerie, Vale, Vacuo and Mistral should just surrender to us and should give Atlas 50% of your land. We would also love approximately 85% of NOTO's and SOTO's military equipment, technology, weapons and resources to help build Atlas to a greater kingdom. Additionally, the Schnee Dust Company would also love to establish mines and facilities in NOTO, Menagerie and SOTO after you hand us the 50%. You don't want any our troops coming in on lands or have monuments destroyed again. Would you?
Signed,
Jacques Schnee and the Atlas council."
Both Lincoln, Steven, Theodore, Canadian Prime Minister Jacobs Major, Mexican President Angel Jorge Santos, President of Brazil Larissa Yong Kodô, Ozpin, Prime Minister Ghira Belladonna, Ironwood, Trinidad & Tobago 10th President Destra Richards and Cuban President Ramón Díaz could not believe the bullshit they just heard/read!
Jacques not only misspelled NATO & SATO. But deliberately called the Fansus on the Republic of New Menagerie Animals!!
And demanding that we should surrender to them when their the ones losing!?
Lincoln: I'll be the first one to say this........But WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS BULLSHIT!!!
Ironwood: Another reason why I cut ties with Atlas and became a No-Pat. This Atlas bullshit.
Ghira was seen with his hands folded, but his veins were seen all over his face as he was pissed off.
Lincoln: This letter is nothing short of absurd and insulting! The audacity of Jacques Schnee and the Atlas council to make such demands is beyond belief! They must think they can dictate terms to us after their failed actions and unethical behavior. This is not how you build diplomatic relations!
Larissa: It's a clear display of arrogance and a complete disregard for the principles of diplomacy. We should not entertain such outrageous demands!
Jacobs: I agree. This letter shows a lack of respect for our nations and undermines the progress we've made in working together for a better future.
Angel: This is an attempt to assert dominance and control over us. We cannot let them get away with it!
Destra Richards: They must be delusional if they think we would bow to their demands! We must stand united against this blatant aggression!
Ramón: Absolutely. We should respond firmly and reject their demands outright.
Ozpin: I share your sentiments. This kind of behavior is not conducive to maintaining peace and cooperation. We should confront them and make it clear that we won't be intimidated.
Ironwood: Agreed. They need to understand that we are not pushovers and that we will defend our sovereignty and principles.
Lincoln: I will draft a response to this letter, firmly rejecting their demands and expressing our disappointment in their approach. We will stand united as NATO, SATO, and our allies, and we will not be bullied by Atlas or anyone else.
Steven: And we should make it clear that we will not tolerate any aggression or threats to our lands and people. We will defend ourselves if necessary.
Lincoln: Exactly. Let's show them that we are strong, united, and unwavering in our commitment to peace and cooperation.
As the leaders agree on their response, they make it clear that they will not be swayed by Atlas' intimidation tactics.
Lincoln: Actually. I have a better idea.
Steven: What?
Lincoln: I will still draft a response to this letter, but will request a meeting between us leaders of NATO, ROM and SATO and Jacques Schnee and the Atlas council in Mantle.
Ozpin: Not to sound rude, but that's suicide.
Ironwood: I Agree. They'll set up a trap the second we say we rejecting their demands.
Steven: And if we set up a meeting here in DC. They'll be shot down by S.A.Ms. And that's if the Air Force would listen either.
Lincoln: Which is why I want the meeting held in Kenya.
Ghira, Ironwood, Ozpin & Theodore:*confused* Kenya?
Lincoln then shows the African Continent to Ghira, Ironwood, Ozpin and Theodore.
Lincoln: You see, a couple of months ago we discovered this Continent that we call Africa. Good reason to have the meeting there; Their North and South American allies. Great reason to have the meeting there; Atlas nor anyone but North and South America knows it's land or existence on Remnant. Excellent reason to have the meeting there; The meeting will be at an airport that serves as a US, Canadian and Mexican Air Base.
Lincoln: Meaning, Atlas can't have a giant escort.
Steven:*smirks* But we can. Smart.
Lincoln: Exactly. The key here is surprise and minimizing the risk of an ambush or unwanted interference. By holding the meeting in a previously undisclosed location on the African continent, we level the playing field. Atlas won't have an advantage in terms of knowing the area, and we can take measures to ensure the safety and security of the meeting.
Ghira: It's a bold move, but it might just work. If we keep it discreet and coordinated, we can catch them off guard.
Ozpin: Agreed. We should also make sure to have our own security measures in place to prevent any potential threats.
Ironwood: We'll need to coordinate with our military and intelligence teams to ensure a smooth and secure operation.
Theodore: As the headmaster of Shade Academy, I can offer additional support from our Huntsmen and Huntresses to bolster security.
Lincoln: That would be much appreciated, Professor Theodore. The more precautions we take, the better.
Steven: We should also have our own representatives from each nation present during the meeting. This way, it won't be just the Atlas council against all of us.
Lincoln: That's a good idea, Steve. Having our own representatives will ensure that our interests and concerns are properly represented.
Jacobs: I'm in agreement with this plan. It shows that we are not afraid to face them directly and that we are united in our response.
Ange: I concur. Let's show them that we are not to be underestimated.
Larissa: It's a risky move, but sometimes risks are necessary in diplomacy. I support this plan.
Destra Richards: It's time we make our stand together. I'm with you on this.
Ramón: If it's our best chance to confront Atlas, then I'm on board.
Lincoln: Good. Then it's settled. Let's prepare for the meeting in Kenya and make sure our response to the letter is clear and resolute. We will not be intimidated, and we will defend our nations and our principles.
As the leaders agree on the plan, they begin the preparations for the meeting in Kenya. The stakes are high, but they are determined to stand united and face Atlas head-on.
Two weeks later
We open up to airport in the country of Kenya on east part of the African Continent.
Waiting and standing at the airport was Jacques Schnee, Jet Greene, a Councilman, a Councilwoman, Elec Nav and her younger sister Cye Nav.
With them is Atlas soldiers, AK-200s and Shadow Company troopers.
As the group waited for their hosts, some looked at the buildings of somewhat bombed out airport.
Elec: It's like a major war happened at this place.
Cye: Indeed, Sister. This place is in somewhat ruins.
Soon, the group heard the sound of hundreds if not thousands vehicle noises.
Jet: Looks like our hosts have-
Jet stop mid sentence as he saw a massive air fleet of helicopters, attack helicopters, V-22 Ospreys, Bullheads(No-Pats, Vale & Vacuo), fighter jets, VTOL Jets, two AC-130s, one B-52 Bomber, Marine One and Air Force One.
On the ground, HUMVEEs, JLTVs, MRAPs, Tanks, LAVs, Bradleys, Strykers, APCs and Tank Destroyers also arrive.
Jet was almost impressed.
While Elec was impressed.
As the military vehicle either stop or land now showing Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force, Special Forces and Ghosts protecting the leaders during the meeting.
Jacques sucked his teeth seeing the large amount of troops.
Soon, US President Lincoln Clinton, USMC General Dustin Walker, US Navy Fleet Admiral Artyom Eksinud, US Army 5-star General David Wilson, Canadian Prime Minister Jacobs Major, Mexican President Angel Jorge Santos, President of Brazil Larissa Yong Kodô, Prime Minister Ghira Belladonna and General Sienna Khan Fernandes.
Escorting them was USMC Private First Class Ryan Cooper II, Captain David Fernandes, Captain Anthony Towson, Delta Force Sergeant First Class Mina Takahashi Towson, Mexican Special Forces Cabo Mako Takahashi, Blake Belladonna, Staff Sergeant Gundy Vice and Lieutenants Dusk and Yagi Avancini.
For extra safety, Lincoln, Dustin, Artyom, Wilson, Jacobs, Angel, Larissa, Ghira and Sienna are wearing a Kevlar vest underneath their clothes, the meeting room will have a jammer, all weapons, scrolls and phones will be confiscated until the meeting is finish and NO FIGHTING between each other as Kenya is considered neutral grounds.
The leaders came face to face with Jacques Schnee, Jet Greene, a Councilman, a Councilwoman, Elec Nav and her younger sister Cye Nav.
Some of the AK-200s got a little close and Ryan, David and Anthony gripped the hilt of their Kukri Knives. Until Elec told the AK-200s to stand down. The three marines let go of the hilts.
Dustin:*emotionlessly* Let's get this meeting underway.
Jacques: Finally, you have the audacity to meet with us. You may have brought an impressive display of military might, but I assure you, it won't sway us from our demands.
Lincoln: We didn't come here to escalate tensions, Jacques. We came here to find a diplomatic solution to the issues at hand.
Ghira: Your demands are unreasonable and aggressive. We won't surrender our lands or resources to Atlas.
Angel: And we won't allow you to establish mines and facilities in our territories either.
Larissa: You cannot expect us to bow down to your demands just because you have military power.
Jacques: The world has changed, and Atlas is the dominant force now. You would do well to accept that reality.
Dustin: Dominant force or not, you won't get what you want through threats and coercion.
Artyom: We are here to discuss this matter calmly and reach an agreement that benefits everyone.
Wilson: But know this, we won't back down from protecting our people and our territories.
Jacques: Your defiance only proves your arrogance and ignorance. You are on the wrong side of history, and you will regret this decision.
Jet: You really think we'll just back down because of a little show of force? We have our own military might to protect our interests.
Wilson: Enough of this posturing. Let's get to the heart of the matter. What do you hope to achieve with these demands?
Jacques: It's simple. Atlas is the most advanced and powerful kingdom on Remnant. We deserve a larger share of resources and territories to maintain our supremacy.
Sienna: Supremacy built on oppression and exploitation is no supremacy at all.
Ghira: Your actions have caused suffering and hardship for countless people, and you expect us to reward you for it?
Lincoln: We are here to find a peaceful solution, but that means meeting on equal ground and respecting each other's sovereignty.
Angel: Our people have fought long and hard for their freedom, and we won't let you take that away.
Jacques: Freedom? Your definition of freedom is an illusion. It's chaos and anarchy that will only lead to destruction!
Dustin: We believe in the power of unity and cooperation, not domination and control.
Larissa: We should be working together to rebuild and improve our world, not tearing it apart with greed and aggression.
Jacques: Your naivety will be your downfall. Atlas will prevail, and you will all kneel before us!
Ghira: We kneel to no one! Our strength lies in our unity and our commitment to peace and justice.
Jacques and the Atlas council members glare at the leaders, while the tense standoff continues. The room is filled with tension and animosity, but also with the determination to find a resolution that avoids bloodshed and violence.
A few minutes of talking and yelling in the meeting later, the leaders of NATO, ROM, and SATO turned and began to leave the area, escorted by their security teams and military. Jacques, Jet, the Councilman and Councilwoman watched them go with a mix of frustration and disdain, while Elec Nav and her younger sister Cye Nav looked concerned.
Before Anthony Towson and David Fernandes were about leave, Elec Nav and Cye Nav walked up to them.
The two marines gripped on their weapons just in case.
Elec: I see that you two are free from being a POW?
Anthony and David looked at each other and nodded at Elec.
Elec: I see. Just continue staying healthy Marines. The Shadow Company troops here are under mine and my younger sister Cye command.
Anthony and David looked around at well behaved Shadow Company troopers that were packing up to leave.
Anthony: They seem......adequate.
Elec: Thank you. My sister and I have a Code of Honor to follow. Even when working as the second-in-command of Shadow Company.
David: Then you best keep that Code of Honor to heart, Navs.
Both Elec and Cye were a little surprised at how respectable Anthony and David are.
Anthony: Anyway, we best be off.
David: Yeah. See ya.
Elec and Cye: Farewell, Marines.
As the leaders and troops departed Kenya, the tension remained, and the fate of their nations hung in the balance. The situation was far from resolved, but they knew that standing united was their best chance at defending their freedom and preserving peace on Remnant.
As the days passed, the tensions between Atlas and the nations of NATO, ROM, and SATO remained high. Both sides were reluctant to back down from their stances, and the possibility of conflict loomed large.
