Arden, was without a doubt, selfless.

Despite knowing that Kade was my partner for prom, he seemed pretty chill about it.

He didn't want me to get in trouble for defying Hannah Morret; said he'd just skip prom with much better things to do, and that it was no big deal.

Again, we met in secret, just like we always did.

We drove far enough, just to make sure that the coffee shop we entered wasn't a place where we'd be seen by any of the school population.

And that was when it hit me.

I didn't deserve this.

Arden cared enough about me getting caught. He knew I was keeping him a secret, yet that didn't bother him one bit.

He understood me. But I didn't.

I could not understand myself.

While Arden had cared for all the right things, I cared for all the wrong reasons.

That was when I had enough. He didn't deserve this. I didn't deserve him.

So, I decided it was time to stop it.
