It's okay to be needing a particular thing or a person. It's okay to feel a strong urge of dependency on somebody if that doesn't cause trouble to anyone. It's okay to make someone feel needed. In a way, you're helping someone boast their confidence. You're helping a smile to form on someone else's face. You're helping by giving them a reason to live when every other hopes failed to succeed.

Aira poured some black coffee in her paper cup through the coffee machine which situated at far end from her cubicle. She always complained about how it was made so far. Being the lazy person she is, it was too much of a work for her to get up from her desk and brew some coffee for herself.

Going back to her cubicle, she noticed a pretty cream coloured box which had a print on it that said: A special little thing to say; on it's top cover. Her eyes roamed around the entire office as she tried to search for the person who dropped that unknown thing on her desk. Spotting no person in her view, she shrugged and opened it effortlessly just to see a letter popping out of it. Picking it up she saw the inside of the box with designs of stars and moon along with pop up diamond and a label that read: You're a gem!

A smile adorned her face as she continued reading what the letter contained.

To my gem,

                  I admit I don't remember at what age I started loving you. I even admit I don't remember when butterflies started taking place in my stomach just by spotting the sight of you. I don't remember when your laughter started making me happy. I don't remember when your cries started making my heart wrench and punch the reason that made you unhappy. I don't remember when I started losing my attention on solving those maths problem to solving the mystery behind your beauty. But what all matters now is that I have fallen in love with you. It hurts to see you think low of yourself. It hurts to know that you don't see yourself the way I do 'cause even when you feel you don't need yourself, there's a person who's hopelessly fallen in love with you sitting there and needing you more than you'll ever imagine.

By the time she read the entire letter, she had tears in her eyes that threatened to fall. She didn't need to see the name of the person who wrote it, she knew his name. Never in her dreams she thought someone could love her to the point where they would be scared to lose her.

Letting a small sigh escape through her lips, she turned around and saw Ethan standing with a box of chocolate in his hands and a smile that reflected his happiness.

"So your wish has been granted. Now, will you be my girlfriend?" His eyes held curiosity as he grinned at her.

"You're such a cheese ball, my nerd." She rolled her eyes at the amount of cuteness he held. "Yes I'll be your girlfriend. Not like I've any other choice."

She giggled as he embraced her and kissed her forehead before burying his head in her neck, taking a note in mind that better things do happen. Miracles do exist. When she was left with no hope, he came up as a blessing and showered all of the happiness of this world on her and treated her like his prized possession. Promising her about a beautiful present because no one knows what the future beholds for us hence, no one should worry about it anyways.
