chapter 22~

I was searching through my cupboard, for some appropriate clothing that I could pack for our upcoming trip.

"Ugh!"

I threw up my hands in despair, completely giving up. I had nothing fancy. My wardrobe was everything, from fancy 'plain' sweatshirts to fancy 'plain' t-shirts and of course my fancy 'plain' joggers. My 'fancy' had a different vocabulary here from other people.

I required some last minute wardrobe hunting for the occasion, I didn't think turning up in my sweatpants to a wedding would be a nice public display, although it might be fun to try. I threw that idea out of the window, as I heard the front door click.

Oh so dad finally decided to show up, huh?

I was not in the mood to face him right now. I had landed in Lawrenceville just six hours ago, at an ungodly hour, resulting me not being able to find a cab. I had to wait at the airport for almost an hour because my stubborn ass and thick skull refused to call my dad for help. Finally after getting a cab after god knows how long I had reached home just to throw myself face down on the four-poster.

And now five hours later here, I stood in my room packing up, as the sun rays filtered through the thin drapes of my window onto the bed. I myself didn't didn't have an idea as to why I was packing at this hour. I guess I just needed to take off my mind from all the things going around me. Mostly because I couldn't stop thinking about what Hayden told me back in Boston.

The door cracked open behind me taking me by surprise.

"Blue you are here." He said more than asked.

"Do not call me that!" I fired back, with an anger that I didn't knew I still held.

Dad looked taken aback but didn't reply, instead he glanced at the suitcase strewed open, with hoodies and pants decorating my bed. "You are going somewhere?"

"As if you care?" I don't remember myself ever being so disrespectful to my parents, I was always the golden respectful child, doctor's kid being a brand on my forehead since forever. So this was new, but dad was taking it quite agreeably and that just made me more pissed.

"I know London that you are hurt. I know it must suck having to deal with such disturbance in the house. But please don't keep yourself locked up from within." He took in a shuddering breath, "We are sorry for keeping this away from you for so long, but we just didn't want you to suffer. We already have too many walls building up in this house."

"And who's fault is that?" I glared at him, blood rushing and covering the usual light beige of my features into visibly rosy one.

He momentarily pondered, maybe contemplating what to say further. But I was way far gone, he had blocked me and I could not manage any further home-drama at this point.

"I'm sorry. You've always somehow managed to break those walls down. Please, Blu- London don't build walls around yourself too. You are this chewing gum, keeping us all stuck together."

"A chewing gum! Really?" I snorted. "I thought I meant more to you than a stupid chewing gum."

"You do, you hold us together. I have been blaming your mother for so long but deep down I know that it was wrong. The guilt always ate on me when you would wake up in the middle of the night, not able to breathe because you thought you were drowning. So to ease my guilt I did one thing I could do, 'find someone to blame'. And in my case it was your mother. It was stupid of me, it eased me for awhile, but over the years it just made us break apart, the formed split widening each day." He walked upto me, I thought he was going to hug me but instead he just stood there awkwardly. "I'm sorry London, I'm sorry for everything you have had to go through because your parents aren't mature enough. I'm sorry for making you having to put us first and then yourself."

I didn't know what to say, so I blurted out the first thing that came in my possibly damaged brain. "Dad I'm going to Hawaii."

"Oh." He was clearly surprised by my sudden declaration, "Great, good, you should go hang out with your friends. Tell me what funds you need, I'll transfer them tomorrow, for the tickets and all."

"Actually I'm going with my friend Clarice, her father has already booked the tickets. It's her brother's wedding."

"Oh, okay, good then have fun. Let me know if you need something." He awkwardly trudged out of my room, leaving me alone with my thoughts.

"Where the fuck have you been?" Neil stood up the minute I entered the cafeteria, he looked as if he was ready to pounce on me. But well he didn't have to as Clarice was literally doing so, "Leaving my messages on seen, who the hell do you think you are, huh?"

I was too drained to answer, the non existent jet lag finally catching up on me. "I went to Boston, I needed sometime by myself."

"And that's your excuse for leaving us hanging? We were supposed to finish the shoot two days back. Now you better get your ass ready, we have to complete the shoot, before y'all fly off to your Hawaii rendezvous." Neil was fuming.

I scanned the cafeteria again, then again. He wasn't there with everyone perhaps he had swimming practices or some council stuff.

I cut my glare to Felix, "Aren't you having too much fun, watching the show?"

"That I am." He smirked. "Where's your blue boy?" He asked as I was making it quite not-so-subtle scanning the cafe.

"How the hell would I know, wasn't I the one who went MIA?" Now obviously I wouldn't admit that I was in fact looking for him.

"Well you both went MIA together, so you two might as well have ended up together." His smirk continued to widen with each syllable.

"Why the hell would we meet, I was in Boston the whole time," the lie easily slipped off my tongue, "why would he come all the way there to see me?"

Why would he come all the way there to see me? But he did.

"Cherry and I were on our way to report the Edwards fam missing, when Enzo told me about the possibility of burglars stowing away your corpses into their realm." Clarice sipped her coffee comfortably now that the anger had slightly subsided.

"He told you about our burglar discussion!? Why even-"

"Well obviously, we couldn't have just let him get away to wherever he was flying off to without firstly confirming if he was your assassin, you see." She kept on sipping her cappuccino as if we weren't actually discussing my possible assassination by Lorenzo. Which again was legitimately possible if we were discussing this over a week back or something.

"Eh- where's Cherry and Kai?" I asked the three of them, I couldn't have just asked upfront 'where's Lorenzo?'

"Cherry has some personal stuff to take care of." Felix replied giving a cue towards Clarice as if to go on answering further.

"And Kai has morning lectures, before you ask, Enzo is undercover since you went missing and Kai won't let us in on his details." Clarice's monotonous answer made me think if they all had memorized first hand everything.

"I wasn't gonna ask about Lorenzo anyway." I hesitated rubbing the back of my neck.

"Of course you weren't."

Before my mind would start wandering again, Clarice yanked Felix's and my hand to shake us, me precisely from my drowsy state, as the overhead speaker cracked to life, indicating the start of the classes for the day. I groaned as I got up from my seat, not at all looking forward to the tiresome day ahead.

"The word is 'Thank you'." Kai chuckled a little as he was eyeing his bestfriend sitting not at a very long distance and then back at me.

Now obviously, Kai was the only person I could possibly hope to get in on Lorenzo. I called him up, with a genuine excuse for him being absent on the last shooting schedule. I wasn't expecting for Kai to enlighten me about Lorenzo's whereabouts, so instead I humbly asked him to drag him to the shoot, surprisingly he turned up.

"I don't know if 'thank you' is the word or I dug up my own grave here." I looked at Lorenzo who was now shooting daggers at his best friend not sparing me a glance.

He did not even acknowledge my presence and Felix's brainstorming innovation with the last sequence wasn't helping. Yes, I dug my own grave, but for the record I wasn't so much in the favour of 'the finale kiss.'

"It deserves an epic ending!" Felix whined looking between Neil and the Deity of Obliviousness.

"No." Lorenzo stated starkly.

"But I agree, it does sound like a satisfactory end, you know with both characters parting ways at the end. A final goodbye with a kiss, sounds really good to me." Neil agreed with Felix's bizarre plan of the whole 'the last kiss' scene they were thinking to put up.

"No." He curtly refused again, glancing towards me, menace clear in his eyes, "I'm not going to kiss this person just to make your project memorable."

That one hurt

Was I that revolting? I was well aware that I had crossed boundaries back in Boston with him. But it felt as if he was holding on to empty air, I couldn't place his reasons for being still angry with me. It was a stupid thing now, how his thinking about me started to matter to me, two weeks back I wouldn't have given any fuck to a word he would have commented about me.

"London?" I heard Felix call me out of my thoughts.

"Err...what?"

"What do you think?"

I didn't know what he was talking about, "Whatever, I don't care. Just get this thing over with. Eh?"

Felix rolled his eyes, "What's up with you? You have been in a different world since you have returned. The professor had to call you almost four times before you could focus if Keats contributed in romance or building the Wright Brother's aircraft."

"Are you alright?" Neil asked me, worry dripping through his words.

"Yeah I'm fine, can we just get this over with? Please."

I walked over to where Lorenzo and the others were, Kai following behind, on my trail. When I was right in front of the Emperor of Callousness he eyed me like he was scanning my face, every detail of it. I did the same, of course can't let him do whatever he wants alone. My head was swarming with empty ideas.

My eyes slowing lingered on his features, which were surprisingly, absolutely perfect, blending with the perfect complexion of light beige. His mouth, I hadn't noticed how he had the absolute glossy pair of lips for a guy, perfectly carved and with cute plump lips but not too much. Was I okay with kissing them? Feeling his heavenly looking one's on mine? I started feeling a pinge in my stomach the more I looked at them, at him.

But he was Lorenzo?! The Goddamn Crown Prince of Chaos!

And that was when I noticed his blue hair dye which was beginning to fade, it had turned a dull shade of sapphire blue and the grey beneath was somewhat visible. Blue; I thought I had gotten over the whole mess when I visited Mama, but now that I was here I couldn't stop thinking about him, the name flooding to every crevice of my mind.

"Cut! What the fuck is wrong with the both of you? Where are you two? Because you two sure as fuck aren't here on the set." Neil was tired by our antics, I knew. But I was in no mindset to act, I could feel, neither was the person across from me, like there was nothing wrong in our lives.

The final scene called for tears, but all I felt was numbing pain and the more I looked at him, the pain welled up with the twinge in my stomach. The surrounding seemed like they were closing on me, I wanted to scream, cry or just go to sleep. But all I felt was numb.

"You know what, let's leave this scene for later, it's clear that you can't potray parting lovers, when you want to skin the other person alive." Felix said, glancing at Cherry as she walked towards the set, or whatever you would call our shooting location, but stopped midway, a few metres away from us. I heard Kai muttering something under his breath as he walked up towards Lorenzo but couldn't figure out what he was saying.

She wore an onyx black, cotton dress, outlining her perfect fit. Even her stilettos, which were normally bright, were black today. She was standing far but I could still make out her face was red and so were her eyes. Trails of tears decorating a pale face.

"I have to go." Felix looked at the two bestfriends in a flurry, as he ran across the distance before engulfing Cherry into a well needed hug.

I wanted to ask what was wrong, but something seemed so off. That's when I noticed the blue haired boy besides me. He was standing there too tense, as if a single touch would break him. As if wanted to fall onto his knees but some unknown force was not allowing him the ease, to just fall down. He looked vulnerable and weak, nothing like I had seen him before. I looked over at Kai hoping to help me out from my storming thoughts but even his eyes seemed dimmed. Dimmed as they held guilt or maybe something else as he looked over at Lorenzo.

Lorenzo's voice was raspy, as if he had been screaming, when he asked,

"What is the date today?"
