chapter 12~
"E-hh sorr-y, for barging in. I just heard loud noises and the door was open, so I just you k-now walked in. I didn't mean to. I- I'll j-ust...I'll just wait outside." Lorenzo said as he scrambled over his words, trying to get out of the awkward environment.
"And you are?" My dad asked looking at the the man standing at the threshold, his usual dazed appearance reviving the fact that he walked over some apocalypse.
"A- friend." I replied instead without decisive enough.
"No darling, its no problem. Blue take him to your room. I'll send some snacks." My mother's amateur act was defeated from her feeble look. I felt my chest hardening, but I didn't react. I wanted to embrace her by still being mad but I held back. I just didn't wanted to reflect my emotions through my actions.
Instead I just scoffed at my mother's attempt at appearing domestic. I glared over my shoulder at my parents,'This was not over.'
"Hi..erm.. I'm Lorenzo. Nice to meet you both." Lorenzo said clearly trying to loosen some tension in the room.
"Ahh..Blue never told us about you. Nice meeting you kid."My father said trying to change the earlier topic. And it worked as it made my face heat up, I didn't know if it was embarrassment or something else.
"Blue?" Lorenzo asked giving me a confused look.
I swear to-
"We were not friends back then." I made up a dull lie before my dad could say anything. It wasn't exactly a lie if not being 'friends' even now counts.
Lorenzo scoffed at the mention of 'friends'. And I glared at him challenging him to say otherwise. He didn't.
"We'll be in my room, also some other guys are coming over as well. We have this group project of ours." I said with an underlying warning for them to not start their feud and bare me to not become completely trivial in front of the personable guy whom I just befriended.
We climbed the stairs without saying a word, awkwardly. I plopped down on my bed the moment we made it to my room. But Lorenzo's eyes lingered across my decent size room, the wall above my four-poster was filled with Polaroids. He was looking at them intently as though examining every detail, his face still as water in a deserted pond but eyes crawling over across the wall. What happened downstairs seemed to be steadily dwindling with my mind. I felt exhausted which I was after the long day, but more mentally so I just closed my eyes.
"Is that you?" His raspy voice curled up in my tangled body like a flame bringing some library to ashes. He pointed towards a photograph of mine sleeping on my Mama's lap. I just nodded, embarrassed.
"You looked so cute." He said though in an unusual admiring voice but without a slight hint of emotion dangling across his features.
Wait! Where was that coming from? Lorenzo calling me cute, though it was my younger self, still.
"Actually I still am; perhaps even more, if you'd notice." I said casually embracing my huge penguin plushie.
"What are you? Five?" He laughed grabbing another one of my animal plushies from the bedside and smacking my head. Truth be told, I hadn't seen him laughing, I was new and everything to this place and quite a few events had happened except for him like that even for once. I hated it with my whole being to admit but he kinda looked more relaxed and a lot more gorgeous.
"Why are you doing this?" As much as his laugh was endearing, it did not benefit the occasion I was in. It was already a whole too much grasping my parents' weirdness and now adding his.
"What do you mean?" He asked stretching my plushie from both the sides.
Was he stable?
"Aren't you supposed to be like cold or something with me? No wait, more like hostile and unfriendly."
Just before I could die with his further 'easy to get along with' behaviour , the door bell rung. I jumped off the bed and rushed towards the staircase, but Neil and Felix were already half way up. I remembered I had left the door open and surely my parents won't bother.
"Welcome y'all."I said a with a tad bit of sarcasm.
I pointed towards my room,"Just go in there, I'll be back in a minute. Lorenzo is already here."
"Alive?"Neil gasped over exasperatedly.
"You'll see." I said as I skipped down the stairs, making my way to the kitchen. The promised snacks were nowhere in sight. So I scrambled up the kitchen counter taking down the cookie jar, and plating them not so intricately. I grabbed a large tetra of juice from the fridge and some glasses from the shelf. I didn't know how I even managed to hold all of it together and walk up the stairs, but I did.
Felix was getting his camera out. Neil had joined Lorenzo as they both snickered looking at my younger self.
Neil turned towards me with a smug look of evil on his face.
"Don't you dare comment a thing. I swear to God I'll kill you."
He just laughed,"Look at that cute apple hair."
"Shut up!" I said throwing a pillow at his face. I remember when I was only a couple of years Mama used to tie my hair up 'cause my bronze brown hair had grown considerably long and covered my forehead with flocks of bangs.
I diverted my attention to Felix who was setting up his camera.
"Hey? Aren't we just discussing the topics right now. Why set up a camera?" I asked him.
He took a seconds before he responded, very much engrossed into his camera,"Ah.. this, I wanted to shoot it like behind the scenes. Also, we'll have some fun memories to look through later."
"Wow, dude you do have brains, unusual." Lorenzo cut in as he took a close look at the DSLR.
"Rude." All the three of us retorded in unison, leaving us in another giggly fit.
"So, anyone has any ideas? I have some here take a look."Neil said as he flipped open his laptop, and then a some file which he had made for the sole purpose of the project.
Wow
The three of us plopped down on my bed, with the file in the centre, while the grey haired male dragged a chair from across the room with the accompanying screeching sound making goosebumps rise on my skin.
Soon he settled down and we started discussing Neil's ideas as well as contributing our own.
"Blue, we are going to the hospital, we'll be back by dinner."
I heard my dad call out from drawing room.
Yeah?
It was great there weren't squabbling here now. But I couldn't make a sense of what they meant about eighteen years back. I was eighteen. And it was obvious if something happened when I was there at that time I wouldn't be able to recall it. It was highly unlikely. A part of me was starting to regret prying on them, the the heaviness it brings; the way it plays repeatedly when you know only the half truth. But here I wasn't sure from what I heard was only the half. There had to be more for dad to lose it like no other times.
Soon I heard the sound of the door shutting, followed by the familiar engine rolling off. I sighed flustered up from the unnecessary stress.
"Blue, huh?" Lorenzo called, a smirk on his face.
"Shut up. Don't call me that." I rolled my eyes in disgust, I hadn't ever admitted out loud but Blue was a weird name to me no matter how much my parents loved to call me that.
"Blue. Blue. Blue." He went on repeating like a kid memorizing some rhyme. Loser.
"Stop it!" I gave him another disgusted look, this time at the tone he was mocking me in.
"Blue...?" But it wasn't Lorenzo who said it this time, it was Felix.
"Not you now," I groaned.
"Shut for a minute, I'm trying to summon up something."Felix snapped, his face scrunching in concentration.
"There was this movie. It also received accolades at the Cannes. I can't think of the whole name, it started with like something 'Blue' perhaps." Felix looked at Neil hoping to devise the name up. When he didn't say anything his hopes looked disheartened.
"Blue is the warmest colour?" Lorenzo guessed simply.
"Yes exactly! That's the one." Felix exclaimed.
While me and Neil, had our eyebrows up in confusion, to the name of the movie we had never heard of.
"It's a French movie guys." Felix said as he looked at our confused faces.
"Aren't you French, Lorenzo?" Neil asked him.
Since when?
"My parents are, I was born here." Lorenzo stated.
"Cool. So, you know about this film, what do you say then?" I asked the grey haired person who's usual drowsy eyes had returned. But today he seemed normal like never before. I wondered why suddenly cause he hated coming near me and moreover to my place. Then I realised why he might be behaving all so modest. His little encounter with the thundering apocalypse of my parents earlier.
Shit
He looked at me closely as though processing what I had asked. I came across his chocolate brown eyes for the time to which I had lost my count by now, it's always the eyes.
"No" He whispered reluctantly.
What?
"It's a coming-of-age romance. And obviously we're just making a short remake, so the scripting entirely can be based on how we improvise." Felix replied factly as if he had memorized the whole thing.
"But you do realise that both the protagonists are females." Lorenzo looked at him shooting his cynical views.
"I don't think that'll be a problem," Neil raised his eyebrows, the entire time he was scribbling something which no one bothered to look,"We're anyway just grasping potential ideas from different films. And if you feel the overall plot is good of this one then we can even, I mean I can even improvise the end in the scripting based on some other film's plot."
"So, everyone okay?" He asked us again.
I had no idea what was happening in the present scenario, but I trusted Neil's work. If I was to act opposite the particular someone the writing had to better than sappy. Atleast I hoped it'd be.
"I'm cool, what about our 'blue' London?" Felix focused his precious DSLR in the line of where I was, I just realised he had his camera rolling this whole time.
"Put it away," I looked away shielding my face behind my plushie.
"London baby, are you okay with it or not?" He snatched the plushie away and I could hear Lorenzo and Neil snickering like kids, the latter with a satisfied grin on his always favourable face, but the former holding in but occasionally squinting his eyes.
"I'm okay!" I agreed to something, which I had absolutely no clue how I was going to pull off, moreover working with a person who I was sure was more labouring than dancing on hell fire.
"And you, Enzo boy? Are you working with London?" Felix shifted the camera's focus on Lorenzo who almost conveniently blocked the lens with his rosy slender palm fingers.
"I was mistaken, you really have no brains. L-o-r-e-n-z-o, for the last time!" He said his name slowly as though he was tutoring someone with the alphabets, his eyelids half closed, which they always were agreeing with his cynical self.
"So, you're acting as well then." Felix finished before he could give his usual reluctant piece of words.
"I- don-" Lorenzo objected coming to terms with the recent past events.
"Well, I'm doing the camera, I'm positive Neil's scripting would be better than anyone's here, so that leaves you with our most profitable job." Felix winked, if I was to vote who would have a truce with Lorenzo first, even I would pick my name, though uncertain why, but Felix's attempt on testing him in every way was convenient enough to say so.
My case was seemingly unseemly but it was late for the thoughts to be reverted. It was late for the events to be reverted. Moreover, it was late that I could have come late home to end up prying on them. For what? Some half baked something which was intertwining my brain cells.
"Whatever, okay." I heard Lorenzo say as he looked at me again with his half enclosed eyelids, which by the way looked quite agreeable.

(A/N: G'day people:-)
Well, I don't really know how's things gonna upturn further between London and Lorenzo.
I hope both make it till the end of their task,
May the blessings of Felix be in their favour☆
It's raining here, well it usually shouldn't since its late September, maybe the pouring blessing is a sign for me to catnap or something.
Take the stress down guys, have the time to drowse *yawn*
Love, Maads<3)
