Chapter 5
"Just you and me now huh?" After Brendon and Dallon left, I turned back towards the living room. Amelie was still sitting on the couch, her eyes glued to the screen.
I walked over and sat next to her, not fazed by my actions, she laughed at something on the television. Currently playing had been a marathon of 'Tom & Jerry' on Cartoon Network.
"Where's Knox?" Amelie finally turned her body towards me. Her head was slightly tilted to the side. "Mommy said he would be here."
"He'll be here in a little bit." I smiled. "Mommy called me and said she was going to bring him a little later. So its just us girl time." Her eyes lit up and she ran over to one of her small pink suitcases. And when she came back, she held up a blue fairy dress. It was one shouldered and had tiny blue wings on the back. And right where the shoulder strap meets the rest of the dress, the was a pin there with what looked like the water fairy from that Tinkerbell movie.
"Dress up?" She asks in her adorable little squeaky voice.
"Well of course!" Anything to make the little girl happy I guess. "But you've gotta help me pick out my outfit. Deal?" Her eyes widened like it had been the best news she heard all day.
I grab her hand and help her up our steep stairs to the second floor. And as we entered the bedroom, her hand squirmed out of my grasp and she ran over to the bed. She had a little difficultly climbing up, but she managed.
"Alright, Uncle Brendon keeps all his costumes in this closet right here." I open the doors to reveal pretty much everything he's ever wore in both music videos and on tour. "What do you think?" I turn my attention towards her, who had her indeed finger to her chin. Her eyes narrowed and stared deeply at everything there was to offer.
"The red one." Her cheery smile returned to her face.
I sighed taking out the jacket from the I Write Sins video. There was a bit of a musty smell to it, since it had been in the closet for quite a few years. I hesitated before putting it on, but I was doing this for Amelie.
"The hat too?" She must have known that it was an entire outfit.
I went through a few of the boxed underneath the hanging clothes and I finally found the top hat. But instead of putting it on myself, I brought it over to the small being and placed it upon her head. Though it fell over her eyes, it had been way too large for her head, she still suited it.
And for a few hours, Amelie and I played "dress up" or whatever she had originally called it. And when Breezy stopped by to drop off Knox, we continued. Even dragging the both of them into it for a little while. Knox wanted to become the king of the house while Amelie was the fairy princess, and Breezy and I were the kingdom soldiers. And one of the soldiers, Breezy in this case, had to leave on a "special request".
"Alright guys!" I chuckle at the two children still playing. "How about we get the king and the princess something to eat?"
Both of them stopped what they had been doing and ran into the kitchen, laughing and screaming all the way there. This was gonna be a long two weeks. But I think it'll end up being worth it.

"Knox! Amelie!" I yelled up the stairs. "Daddy is on Skype if you wanna talk to him!"
I walked over and sat on the couch again, picking up my laptop placing it in my...well, lap. Dallon's face was on the screen. He wasn't exactly paying attention and looking back at me, but was looking above the camera and every once in awhile, saying a few short words.
And in a few seconds, the children had joined me on the couch already in their pajamas. Knox in a blue and white plaid and Amelie in a purple onesie type of thing. They were both adorable.
"Hi daddy!" They said in unison. And at this, Dallon finally looked back at the screen and his face lit up when he saw them.
"Hey! You guys behaving?" Typical father thing to say. But both of them nodded. "I can't stay for long, we're to be heading into a no signal zone in a bit. But I just wanted to see what you guys were up to."
And then, both of them went on and on about what we had done tonight. And honestly, it was kinda fun spending time with them. I could get used to this.
"Alright, you guys listen to Auntie Hannah. Goodnight." He smiled and blew them a kiss, in which they returned back to him. "I love you both and I'll call you tomorrow, okay?"
"Okay, bye daddy." Amelie replied and Knox waved.
Dallon ended the call, and I placed the laptop on the coffee table I had presently been resting my feet on.
"Alright, bed time, you two." They had both started to protest, but soon agreed.
After they both brushed their teeth, they went into the spare bedroom and got into bed. I really hope they didn't mind sharing it. I didn't want to make one of the sleep on the floor. But they didn't seem to mind. At least not in an obvious way. Amelie hugged Knox and gently kissed him on the head and rolled over onto her other side.
"Goodnight guys." Turning the light off, I hear them both mumble their little good nights.
As soon as I got back downstairs, I plopped myself down on the couch and started flipping through the channels. Seems like there was going to be a routine for quite awhile..
~Two Weeks Later~
"Mommy!" Knox ran over to the front door to be greeted by Breezy standing there. After she said hello, he ran back and grabbed his little suitcase and wheeled it over. I think he was a little too eager to be going back home.
"Thank you so much, again." Breezy looked over at me.
"No need to thank me." I gave her a smile in return. "It was a pleasure. And I think they had a great time as well. Well at least I hope they did."
Amelie had finally showed up, dragging along her suitcase as well. She seemed...less excited about going home than her brother. But still happy to see Breezy either way.
Both of the tiny beings wrapped their arms around me in a hug before they walked outside. Breezy did the same and said a final 'thank you' and 'goodbye'.
And then...silence. It was a beautiful thing really. Though I did quite enjoy the company of those two screaming and playing children. This was something that I was going to only have for short period of time before it would be gone for several years. Not exactly looking forward to that. Then again, I'm not exactly complaining.
The day kind of dragged on from there. There were a few things that kept me occupied though. Such as cleaning the house up a bit. And then I spent the rest of the day in my pajamas, watching horror movies with a cup of tea in my hands.
