Chapter 12

***Character introduced created by AwakedWithMistakes cx This is how she wanted her character to be introduced. The picture above is how she will look***

Just about three and a half months have passed since the whole half miscarriage thing, I still wasn't entirely sure on what to call it. But nevertheless, the one that held on seems to be doing pretty damn well. I had gone to the doctors to check on everything about three weeks after the fact, and I had been pleased to hear that it was already doing well and developing normally again.

Stress was something that only came when something small happened to bother me. It was never anywhere near what I had felt when I couldn't tell Brendon about the pregnancy. That was just horrid, and I'm glad I'm no longer at that high of a stress level.

I've found that things are becoming a little more difficult to handle, now that my stomach is at a good size. Like bending over for example. Or getting up from the couch. But Brendon hasn't left my side since he got back home from touring. He's been helping me with anything and everything, even when I didn't need it. It was sweet and all, but it sometimes got on my nerves. I wasn't disabled, I could still do things that he refused to let me do.

"Hey." Brendon sat down on the couch next to me. The sudden shift of the cushions brought me back from my thoughts. "You alright?" His face fell from a smile, to a concerning look as his eyebrows narrowed downward.

"Yeah, I was just thinking." I reply with as bright a smile as I could muster on my face, hoping that he would do the same. And after a few seconds, he did smile back at me. But it wasn't one of those half-assed kind of smiles like I had just sort of given him. It was one of those I fucking love you so much, kind of smiles. His lips would curl upward and he'd show off some of his teeth. It was honestly the most beautiful thing I could ever see.

"Whatcha thinking about?" He scooted himself a little closer and put his arm around me, allowing myself to rest my head against his shoulder.

"Nothing important." It wasn't exactly a lie. "I am a little hungry though." I got a chuckle out of him as he stood up, heading to what I assume was the kitchen. Or at least I hoped it was.

The space he left at my side felt cold and a bit lonely. I just wanted to be in his arms. I wanted him to stay at my side, whether or not he got up to get me food. It felt like I was being a little too clingy. And it annoyed me at times, but on the other hand, Brendon didn't seem to care.

"Are you actually hungry?" Brendon calls from the kitchen. "Or are you having your sweets craving again?" Now that he brought it up, I was wanting something on the sweeter side.

"Sweets." I had to hold in a laugh as Brendon said something along the lines of, of course you do, under his breath.

And after a few minutes of listening to Brendon clamming around in the kitchen and only half paying attention to the TV, Brendon came back and sat next to me. He had a giant bowl in his hands filled with what looked like fruit covered with chocolate sauce. It was honestly the best looking food I've seen all day.

"We should go out somewhere." I say after I take a bite out of a strawberry. The juices dropped down my chin and I quickly wiped it away before Brendon noticed.

"Where would you like to go?" He asked. His eyes fixated on me as I took another bite of the fruit.

"Just for a walk maybe?" I ask with hopeful eyes. We hadn't done much lately and I wanted to go and get some exercise and fresh air for a little while. And the great thing about living in L.A; Its pretty damn warm out for it being the beginning of January. "There's a new cafe open a few blocks from here."

"Alright." Brendon smiled. "As soon as you're done eating, we can go." I honestly didn't even want any more food. I just wanted to get off of the couch and even walk Bogart and Penny. They've been all cooped up in the house just like I have. I'm sure they'd love to go as well.

About fifteen minutes goes by and Brendon already has a leash on Penny, but was having a little difficultly putting one on Bogart. He was too excited and wouldn't stay still. I had just been watching in amusement as Brendon tried his hardest to calm Bogart down. And after about the tenth try, the leash was finally on the little Jack Russell.

"Ready?" Brendon exhales as he stands up from the ground. He wore that look of defeat on his face.

"I was ready for about five minutes." A smile formed on my lips when he sighed again. I couldn't help but to let out a small laugh as I took Penny's leash from him. Bogart was still jumping around and letting out little whines and barks as he did so.

It was only about a fifteen minute walk to the cafe I had mentioned previously. And for it only being about three in the afternoon, the place was filled with people.

There wasn't much to it; it was fairly simple. The walls were white with a baby blue line going through the entire cafe. The tables looked kinda rustic, like they belonged in a little countryside dinning room home. All in all, it was very bright and vibrant with all the smiles on everyone's faces.

"Two?" A waitress questioned us as we walked up. Her bright red hair was tied up in a messy bun and a smile was on her face. She looked vaguely familiar.

"Yes." Brendon replied to her. "Can we get a table outside? I dont want to disrupt everyone with our dogs."

"Of course!" She grabbed two menus and walked through a side door near the entrance. "Right this way."

We followed the waitress through the door onto this side patio kind of thing. It was closed off from the street with a Victorian looking gate that had vines crawling up it. The tables and chairs this time were fairly simple like the inside had been, but were made out of metal. The chairs had baby blue cushions on them, the same color as that line on the wall inside.

"I'm sorry, but is your name Hannah Ross?" The waitress looked at me with curious eyes after Brendon and I sit down. She handed each of us a small menu.

I looked over at Brendon a little confused. He just gave me a shrug in response and opened up his menu to look through it.

"Urie." I looked back at the woman. "Its Urie now, but yes. Why do you ask?"

The woman looked around over her shoulder and grabbed a nearby chair from a vacant table. She sat at the table with us. I didn't know what to do or what she was getting at. Even Penny and Bogart were a bit suspicious; they both were laying down and looked at her, their heads cocked to the side.

"I dont know if you recognize me." she looked behind her shoulder once more like she was a child trying not to get caught with something. "But I was one of the nurses who assists you when you had your miscarriage? Well more of a nurse in training. I'm interning there before I head off to medical school in a few months."

The woman looked at me with hopeful green eyes. And then it all clicked. I knew she had seemed familiar.

"Oh yes!" I forced a smile on my face. "I dont believe I got your name?"

Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed that Brendon seemed to have given up on listening to the conversation since he was sitting cross legged on the ground, playing with Penny and Bogart. Apparently he had gotten bored with the menu as well. I honestly wish he was still paying attention. I wasn't well with continuing in friendly short conversation.

"Luna Ross." She replied. Wait. Ross?

"What a coincidence of last names." I couldn't help but to let out a nervous chuckle. All of this was very strange to me and I didn't exactly know what to with the information given.

Brendon picked himself up from the brick floor and sat back in the chair he was previously in. This intrigued him, I could tell.

"One last question." Luna licked her lips nervously. "Is George Ryan Ross the Second your father?" My eyebrows furrowed down as I got to be even more confused about all of this.

"Uh yeah?" A quick glance at Brendon told me that he was just as confused at this as I am. "Why do you ask?"

"Because he's my father too." She looked from both Brendon and I.

"You've gotta be joking." Brendon finally speaks up as he stops petting Bogart. His lips formed into a thin line as his glance was fixated on the woman sitting with us. It seemed as if he was going to throw something.

Luna seemed to sense the tension and backed her chair a few inches from Brendon. She put her hands in front if her, palms facing us, as a way of a calming tactic. But Brendon continued to stare at her.

"Different mother." Luna looked at me with worried eyes. "I'm sure you're aware of him sneaking out when you were younger? And coming back drunk?"

"All the time." Just the thought of my father coming home drunk off his ass sent a shiver down my spine.

"Well he would get drunk with my mom almost every night. Until she got sick of him for the night and forced him to leave." She explained. "I found out at about seven that I had a brother and sister. I overheard my mother arguing with him like they always did and he said something about going back to his 'real family' and his 'real kids'. And I wanted to find out more, but I never was able to. And I was too busy interning at the hospital to ask you this. But I had looked at your record, since your name sounded familiar to me. And everything I knew about you clicked with your record. And I'm sorry this is so sudden. I would be just as shocked as you are."

By this point, Brendon's face had softened. And it all started to click in my mind.

The next few minutes, Luna continued to explain as much as she could to us about her life with my father, whom now word from her is in prison, and how her and her mother dealt with it for so long. That is until Luna's supervisor stepped over and questioned her about what she had been doing.

"Sorry I have to get back to work." Luna excused herself. "So what would you guys like for lunch? Its on me."
