Shelly
Once Tanner's hands trailed down to my waist again and his fingers slipped under my shirt, I knew I was done for. His hands on my body in a caring way was enough for me to know that. Soft thumbs ran back and forth on my hip bones.
I scooted forward on his lap, trying to get him closer to me. Hands moved from my waist to the small of my back. The light shining from his window made the sun appear in my right eye as it was closest to it. It matched how I was feeling.
Warmth was seeping into me. Tanner was warm against my body as I draped an arm around his shoulder and pushed him to me. He sat up straighter as he allowed no space between us.
There was no him or me. It was simply us. The wet sounds of our saliva-filled kiss was all I could hear. All other noises, even the cars passing outside, were lost to me. Nothing else mattered but us.
Cupping his face, I didn't allow either of us to breathe. The bone of his jaw was pressed against my pinkie as he mirrored my action by putting his hand on my jaw too. My eyebrows creased as I felt my lungs burn.
How long had we been kissing? How long had I not been breathing? We shared our breath like we did our space. An arm slung around my waist, his arm laying across my back with his left hand on my left side.
But it was gone in seconds as he pushed me off of him so that I laid on his messy bed. I looked up at him to see a smile on his red lips. A light chuckle left my lips as he descended over me.
"You are beautiful. Have I told you that yet?"
"Uh, no. I don't think you have," I bit my lip at him.
"I'm sorry," his forearm laid next to my head, "but you are. Inside and out."
He rubbed the side of my face tenderly with his thumb. His cognac eyes were on my dark brown ones. A wide smile played on his lips as he pecked me.
Once. Twice. A million times before he finally stopped to kiss me again.
This was all new to me. I had never known what it was like to make out with someone that I had invested so much time in. Everyone who I ever liked never liked me back, Tanner did.
And I loved it. I loved him.
Tanner was everything I wanted in a guy. I wanted someone to care for me. To not push the limit and yet do it at the same time, like how his hands had found their way under my shirt. He was softly rubbing my skin but he wasn't moving them anywhere.
He was there for me, even though we had a time when we hadn't talked, he was always at the fence. He understood when I didn't want to do something, like last night when I was too tired. He made me sleep early.
And now, lighting up my days even more. His lips moved against mine in a harsh way as the kiss got elevated to another level. Breathing wasn't a thing I thought about but my lungs yelled at me to breathe.
So I pulled away. Loudly gulping in the air, I heard his faint laughter. His body shook on top of mine as the laughing got louder. Tanner laid his forehead on my shoulder as he struggled to breathe between laughing and gulping.
"You okay there?"
"Yep, perfectly fine," he said as he pulled back to see me.
There was something different about it this time. The crinkles around his eyes multiplied, more teeth had shown, and his eyes were roaming my face. I was almost certain I looked the same.
I wiggled to sit up so that we could take a quick breather. His parents should be home sometime soon and I don't think they'd allow me over anytime soon if they saw us making out. I just met them, I didn't want them to think bad of me.
But then I heard the car pull up. I avoided his eyes this time, reddish-brownish eyes were now my weakness. Standing up, I grabbed his hand to pull him to the kitchen.
In his small window above the sink, I saw them exiting the car and grabbing groceries. I knew that they would make me sit and wait for them to unload them all. Unlocking the door, I pulled Tanner with me to help them.
"What are you doing?" he whispered to me.
"Helping. Ya know, like a good child?"
"You don't-"
"But I will," I sang as we finally met with his parents.
"Shelly, hey!" Susie said as soon as she saw me.
"Let me," I grabbed a few bags off of her arm that was denting her flesh.
Since it was only ever us three, now two, I was used to carrying tons of bags. His parents looked at me strangely as I walked back into his house to set them down on the table.
"You don't need to help sweetie, we got it."
"Oh, no. It's fine. I can help," I smiled at his mom.
"Tanner," his father sang before Tanner stood in my way.
"I get it. It's weird to have your girlfriend help with things in your house. You would do the same if it was me and my mom, wouldn't you?"
I felt like it should be natural. We had already been fusing the parts of us together slowly, I wanted to do it with our families too. And yeah, some part of me wanted his family to love me.
Because I didn't want him to cast me away if they didn't. I knew family was a big deal to him even if he didn't say so. He was close to his sister, whenever he would talk about his parents when we'd text, he spoke highly of them.
I just wanted his family to love me so I could love him without anything going wrong.

A/N:
I love writing kissing scenes based on anything else but the actual kiss. Feelings are where kissing scenes are.
Here's the old author's note with a few tweaks:
