Billina The Cat
"Billina."
You almost choked on air.
"Billina?" Your eyes widening. Alex just stood there, watching you closely as if you were going to explode any minute.
"Nah, I'm just messing with you." Alex smiled cheekily, wrapping his arms around your waist. You lean back against his chest. You felt your cheeks tingle a little, still not used to his affection. Sighing, you turn your neck slightly to look up at him.
"What will you name her then?" You asked.
"Twilight sounds nice." You nod in agreement. Twilight was a good name. The kitten's eyes were a mischievous dark teal, staring up at Alex and you with an innocent look. You broke out of your boyfriend's embrace, giving him a quick kiss before heading downstairs. The kitten and him needed some quality time anyways.
In the kitchen, you looked in every cabinet, every drawer for a snack and all you found was dust. In the fridge there were red grapes, milk, 10 bottles of water, mini pickles and ketchup. Ketchup.
Flashback:
"(y/n)! Hurry up and drink it!" Your older brother Jack exclaimed, excited. You lift the ketchup bottle up to your mouth and shake it. You see the ketchup ooze out of the bottle- then Jack slapped the bottle into your face, making ketchup go everywhere.
Thankfully you didn't have any ketchup in your mouth, which was the original plan.
You glare at your brother while he laughs.
Flashback over:
You sit on Alex's kitchen floor, tears slowly forming. You heard Alex coming down the stairs, most likely with Twilight in his arms. "Hey, you okay?" He asks, kneeling down with your back to him.
You simply nod your head.
"Are you sure? Because you're kind of sitting here with my ketchup-" He attempts to joke until he noticed your shoulders shaking.
He goes in front of you and kneels again, wiping your tears away with his thumb.
"You don't have to talk about it if you don't want to." He whispers, holding you in his arms. You cry into his chest with the ugly kind of crying; the kind where you just let it all out, with hiccups and sniffs and choking sobs. Neither of you noticed the kitten wandering around the house.
It took an hour to calm yourself down but Alex didn't mind. There was something about you that was so unique, so beautifully fragile but he couldn't quite name it.
It was a person like you that made his heart skip beats.

Anonymous' POV:
I watched him hold (y/n) like a prized possession. A jewel. It was too bad that he wouldn't have her much longer.
Mariah walks up to me with a hot cup of coffee. I thank her.
"What's the street name?" I asked her, not tearing my eyes away from my computer screen.
"Heather Road, exactly 8 minutes from here."
I smirked, "Perfect."
