Today was the day of our gender reveal party. Scott picked up the cake while I was getting things ready. Tara, the girls, and Kelly came over to help. I don't know how many times I got yelled at for trying to lift things. Finally, I threw chocolate at Tara, and she relented; Kelly, not so much. Drat.

Everyone arrived, including my parents and a few people at work, namely Mitch and Corey.

Mitch brought his wife and son Justin, and Corey brought his wife and son Dominick. Scott returned with the cake, and the girls yelled, of course. Our girls love their cake.

Scott set the cake down and kissed me, "Were you being good?"

Before I could answer, Kelly ratted me out, "No, she hasn't."

I looked at him as he smiled, "You're welcome." I rolled my eyes and shook my head.

"Lina, Kelly, and Tara came here to help you because I asked them to," he reasoned.

"Scott, I'm not helpless. I have been pregnant before," I told him.

"I know, but I want you to enjoy yourself," he replied. I wasn't going to win this one.

"Fine," I sighed.

"Now come on, we need to eat, then find out what we are having," he said as I smiled. We were so excited.

As everyone ate, we all talked. Brent hovered over Mel, and Wyatt tended to Kara. I could tell they were beyond excited. The best part was when Wyatt and Kara decided to elope, and Wyatt was in the process of adopting Avie. I was glad. He loved those girls more than life itself.

It's weird to go from being single one minute to being with someone and having a family the next. I love having a family. I missed it the years I was a single parent. Even if I said I was okay with it, I wasn't.

After dinner, we finally decided to cut the cake.

Tara brought the cake out and set it on the coffee table.

"Thanks for coming and finding out what the gender will be. Lina and I wanted to find out with everyone else since, you know, we decided to get married to a few people present."

"Yeah, and we're still miffed at that," Kara yelled, causing everyone to laugh.

"Yes, we know Kara," Scott sighed.  "Anyway, we wanted everyone to share in our news and find out if we are having a prince or a princess," he said.

"How about you cut the cake now," Mel yelled.

"Nice way to ruin the moment, Mel," he said as she shrugged.

We decided to cut the cake and reveal what the baby was.

"It's a boy!"  Scott yelled as everyone cheered.

"Yay!  Our brother is going to be named Batman!"  The girls yelled.  We laughed.

"We decided to go with Noah," I said to them.

"Awww."

"That's okay, you can call him Batman as a nickname," Scott told them.

"Yay!"

We served everyone a blue cake. As we all ate, the girls and I talked about the baby shower. They wanted to throw it next month for me, and I was good with that.

Scott and I had picked up many items all ready for the baby, so I needed some essentials. I also decided to show them the nursery since they had finished it.

We walked inside, and I supported my lower back with my hands as we stood in the nursery.

"Scott did an excellent job," Tara said.

"He wanted to surprise me, but I acted like a fool," I sighed.

"What else is new?" Kara shrugged. I couldn't help but laugh.

"It's funny. I never expected any of this," I said as they looked at me. "When I married Ben, I thought that was it. The next thing I knew, I was a single mom trying to support my daughter. I figured I would be a single mom for the rest of my life, and I was fine with that as long as Kami was happy," I said.

"Lina, there is nothing wrong with wanting to share your life with someone. It makes you human," Tara explained.

"Every guy out there isn't going to be the one for you, but one will be. It just depends on the people, really," Mel said.

Kara walked over to me, "I was the same way after my divorce. I was so done with men because I didn't want to end up with another piece of crap that I figured I would rather stay single than deal with that again. Then, one day, I walked into this motorcycle shop, and it changed my perspective," she explained.

"Lina, we go through things, but it doesn't define us. It makes us stronger because of it. Look at how Kami turned out. All because you put her first like a good parent does," Tara told me.

I wanted to cry when someone said, "She's right."

I turned as the guys walked into the nursery.

"What are you talking about, Kelly? I'm always right," Tara said to Kelly.

"Yep, and I will never hear the end of it," he joked with her. She playfully tapped his arm as he pulled her into a kiss. Wyatt walked over to Kara and pulled her close, as Brent did with Mel.

I felt arms wrap around me from behind and hands rest on my belly. I looked down to see Scott's wedding band and placed my hands on his. I leaned back into him as he supported me.

Meeting Scott was by chance, but falling in love with him was fate. They say we are all destined to meet the one for us; for me, it just took a couple of times to do so.

The following month, I had my shower and opened up items I needed for the baby. I let the girls open the gifts; they had so much fun doing so. Georgia squealed when she pulled out a Batman figure.

"Look, Mommy!  Noah got a Batman!"  I smiled at her excitement.

"And a Thor!"  Kami yelled.

The girls loved superheroes, and I'm sure they would have a lot of fun with their baby brother.

Noah was kicking up a storm with all the excitement around us. He was such a feisty little dude.

While we were busy with the baby shower, Scott and the guys assembled baby furniture for Mel and Kara.

"I don't remember putting together Zara's and Zoe's cribs being this complicated," Kelly said.

"I think they want to drive us freaking nuts," Brent said, holding up a piece.

"Well, whatever the case, we need to finish this and get Mel's stuff together next," Wyatt said as he tightened some screws in the crib.

"Do you know what you're having," Scott asked them.

"Nope, Kara already threatened to whoop my ass if we found out before the party," Wyatt said to him.

"Well, Mel and I wanted to know, but I'm not saying anything. She'll kill me if I say a word," Brent said.

"All I know is I love being a part of the pregnancy," Scott said as they looked at him. "Being married to Victoria, I never had much of a say in things, and at one point, I didn't know if Georgia was even mine. But with Lina, it's amazing. It has shown me what true happiness is."

"That's the thing about women; they are amazing people. Tara is everything I ever wanted. She gave me two beautiful daughters, respect, and loves me, above all else. I couldn't have asked for a better partner and wife," Kelly told him.

"Same with Mel and me, she is my everything, and I am hers," Brent added.

"I know before I met Kara, I never thought about settling down, and look at me now. Married, kids, and putting this ridiculous furniture together, but I would do anything, my queen," Wyatt told him.

"Yeah, Lina drives me crazy, but I can't see my life without her in it," he smiled. They all chuckled as they finished putting the furniture together before heading to Brent's to put Mel's furniture together.

It was a team effort with everyone.

Our little bundle of joy would be arriving soon. I couldn't wait.
