Louis carsick

"We're in a bread van," Harry laughed. He was lounging comfortably across multiple pillows taking up a lot of the limited space.
"This is the worst," Niall mumbled hatefully.  They'd snuck out of their hotel in Brazil through a back exit and promptly crawled into the back of a van. From the outside, the van was completely bland and unrecognizable, and none of the swarming fans suspected a thing when it pulled out of the hotel drive. They were going to look around the city.
The problem, though, was that the back of the van was quite a tight squeeze and didn't have any air conditioning to speak of, let alone windows.
"It's awful hot in here," Louis complained. He was almost as uncomfortable as Niall was in the back of the vehicle.
"We've got pillows though. It could be worse," Liam shrugged.
Niall groaned. The pillows only took up more space and forced the boys closer together. Niall closes his eyes and pushed his head back, trying to steady his breathing.
"You good, Niall?" Harry asked.
"My heart's gonna beat out of my chest," Niall gulped. He wasn't sure this whole experience would be worth how uncomfortable he felt.
"I'm not loving this either, mate," Louis sighed.
The space wasn't bothering Louis, but he was already sweating from the heat and the windy roads wasn't doing him any favors.
"Whats wrong with you, Lou? Catch a bit of Niall's claustrophobia?" Zayn joked kindly.
Louis shook his head.
"Think I'm getting a bit carsick. Don't like the heat with these turns," Louis explained.
Liam frowned.
"It's your stomach?"
Louis shrugged.
"I just feel awful muggy. I don't know."
They had a bit of a drive ahead of them. Nothing too long, but a good half hour at least.
"I think they have the AC on, it just isn't circulating well back here," Harry explained. It wasn't circulating at all.
"The heat's been getting to me all day," Louis explained, "Was feeling a bit dizzy earlier."
"Have you got a fever or something? You're a bit flushed," Zayn commented.
"No. It's just a bit warm for me," Louis mumbled, repositioning himself.
"You should have had more to drink, mate, if it's the heat. You're probably getting a little dehydrated," Liam realized.
Louis groaned and braced himself as the van took a sharp left.
"Don't know how many of these turns I can handle," Louis confessed.
Liam, Harry, and Zayn all crowded to one side of the bus to give Niall and Louis more space. Niall wasn't paying attention to much, he just kept his head low, but he seemed a little better than in the start. Louis, though, was only getting worse with time.  Within a few minutes, Harry could see the discomfort in Louis's eyes and placed a hand on his shoulder.
"Hey, love, you're really not looking well," he said softly.
Louis shook his head in response.
"Want to lay back? You can lay your head in my lap if you curl up," Harry offered. Louis nodded and shifted, letting Harry guide him slowly into a position against the pillows.
"Louis doing okay?" Zayn asked.
Harry was carding his fingers through Louis's sweaty bangs and trying to wave some cool air onto the boy's flushed face.
"Think he's feeling pretty lousy. This isn't the best drive for an upset belly," Harry responded.
"We don't have far. I'm sure some fresh air will do him good," Liam said.
It was a relief that they didn't have far to go. 5 minutes from their planned parking lot, Louis mumbled out that he felt like he could throw up, and panic was really the last thing Louis or Niall needed.
When the van stopped, Niall finally looked up and scooted towards the door. He was the first one out of the car once the driver came to the back to let them out. Harry had Liam and Zayn leave next, before he helped Louis sit upright again. He looked woozy. Really woozy.
"Woah, Lou, you alright?"
Louis swallowed thickly and started inching toward the door.
"Really need out of here," Louis muttered.
Harry passed Louis on the way out and helped pull him forward. Instead of Louis completely leaving the van, he dangled his feet over the edge and leaned against the side, eyes shut as he took in fresh air.
"You okay? Would water help?" Harry asked, rubbing Louis's back a little. He could tell he was fighting to keep his stomach down.
Louis nodded a little.
Zayn turned and walked toward the driver.
"Hey, Louis's feeling really ill. Have you happen to have a water bottle somewhere in the van?"
By some miracle, the driver nodded and came back seconds later with an unopened water bottle. It was room temperature, but it was better than nothing.
The bottle was handed to Harry, who opened it and held the liquid to Louis's lips. Louis's hand curled around the plastic, but Harry kept the majority of the weight out of Lou's shaking hand.
The ill boy only managed a few sips before he pushed away, promptly leaning over himself and gagging.
Louis's body was too lethargic to produce hard heaves, but the small shudders coursing through the boy's system was enough to bring right back up the water.
"Oh, Louis," Liam sighed.
Niall took off his thin hoodie (which left him in a tank top) and walked closer to the van. Harry set down the water so he could hold Louis up and rub his back, so Niall took it. He poured a little over a quarter of the the water over his clothing, rung in out, and draped the cool fabric over Louis's trembling frame.
Louis didn't react through his feeble dry heaves, but it felt beautiful on his sweaty skin.
"Perfect, Niall, good thinking," Harry smiled. Niall smiled back sadly.
"Poor guy got it worse than me," He said.
Louis continued to gag unproductively for a couple minutes. After he finished and rinsed out the taste, Louis found himself leaning weakly into Harry's side.
"W-water didn't help," he rasped.
Harry shook his head.
"Not a bit. How does your stomach feel now?"
Louis shuddered and shook his head against Harry's neck.
"Yeah, you're still over heated, you poor thing."
"What should we do? I doubt Lou's ready for another car ride just yet, or Niall for that matter. But he's obviously not well enough to walk around," Liam stated.
Harry shrugged, too preoccupied with Louis to be of much help at that moment.
"He needs out of the heat," Zayn pointed out, "he'll probably be really nauseous until he cools down some."
Niall nodded. "We should get him to a cafe or something. A place with air conditioning."
The boys all agreed on a cafe. It would be small enough that a huge crowd wouldn't be a problem and it wasn't prime time anyway. Louis was too dizzy to do much walking, so he got a piggyback ride from Liam, keeping his head buried the entire time. Liam kept his head down too, watching Harry's feet in front of him to make sure he was headed the right way. They didn't want to be recognized and swarmed with Louis so out of it.
When they got to the cafe, Louis was set down in a booth. After taking a minute to look around, Louis tucked his head into folded arms and tried to stop his head from spinning. He still felt really nauseous.
Zayn, Liam, Niall, and their driver all left a few minutes later. They wanted to stay, but Louis insisted they go look around. They were less likely to get noticed if it were just 2/5 also.
Harry got up to grab Louis a new, cold water bottle before going to the empty checkout.
"Is this all for you- oh my god."
Harry looked up to see a teenaged girl staring back at him with huge eyes.
"Y-You're-"
"Hi there, love,"
"Harry-"
"Yes,"
"Styles-"
"Thats me," Harry said, smiling brightly, "Just the water, please."
The girl shook her head, then nodded.
"Jesus, I'm such a spaz, sorry. It's just not everyday, you know, t-that Harry Styles walks into your work."
Harry waved her off.
"No worries! Could you do me a favor, though?"
She nodded.
"Could you keep it quiet that we're here? Louis's sitting over there-" he paused to point to Lou's slumped over figure, "Not feeling good. Heats making him quite ill, and a group of fans would probably be a bit overwhelming right now. Is that alright?"
The girl's eyes widened again before she looked back over to Harry, nodding.
"Oh, of course! Tell Louis I hope he feels better," she said, ringing Harry out. He could see her hands shaking. He smiled and thanked her again before going back to Louis with the water and a few napkins.
Harry wet a napkin and placed it on Louis's neck, smiling a bit when he saw a shiver run through Louis's spine and goosebumps cross his skin.
"Mmph," Louis moaned.
Harry pulled up and down at Louis's shirt, trying to get his body cooled further.
"I have some water for when you feel up to another try," Harry let him know. Louis shook his head.
"Still feel real bad, Haz," he murmured. Harry hummed sympathetically.
"I know, we'll wait a while."
Louis ended up only trying a few barely qualifying sips before the rest of the group came back. He was feeling a lot better with his time in the cafe, but nowhere near 100%. He also was more than aware that the car ride home was going to be awful.
"Liam grabbed a bag incase your stomach gets upset on the way back," Niall informed. Louis nodded, crawling into the back of the van warily.
"Woah, he really still isn't well," Zayn said, sounding surprised that the carsickness hadn't worn off already.
Harry and Liam shook their heads.
"It's gonna be a rough ride," Liam confirmed.
Louis only lasted 15 minutes before he was choking back up the mouthful of water he'd tried and his lunch. He apologized over and over again, feeling awful that he was such a mess in such tight quarters. The car had been baking in the sun for a hour before they'd come back for it though, so Louis started the ride at a disadvantage.
The minute Louis finished and he realized how much longer he had in the car and how horrible he'd just made the experience for the rest of the band, Louis's face crumpled.
"Aw, Louis, I'm sorry your feeling so bad, love. You've had a tough day," Harry mumbled to the boy.
Zayn took Louis's bag and tied it up carefully before giving Louis a pat on the back.
"You got it out, mate, you're alright," he comforted.
Louis whimpered, apologizing again sadly.
"Stop that, Louis. Common now, you know we aren't upset with you," Liam said. Niall even offered a shaky smile through his own panic.
Louis tried to stop the tears, but there wasn't anything he could do. He resorted to laying back down, tucking himself between Harry and Liam's bodies and wiping away the tears as the came.
Harry rubbed Louis's side, but stopped when one of the sick boy's hands grabbed Harry's. Instead of pushing him away, Louis tugged Harry's arm further down and onto his turning stomach, holding it where he wanted the pressure.
"Niall, would I make it worse if I laid down with Louis? I know you're freaking a bit over there," Harry asked.
Niall just shook his head and closed his eyes, trying to block out how trapped he felt.
Harry nodded to himself before turning and dropping to Louis's level in the van, arm winding around the boy's torso.
"This okay with you?" Harry asked.
Louis nodded. Not only did the pressure help, but Harry's hold on him kept him steadier on the bumpy roads.
When the van turned, Louis whimpered in pain. Harry squeezed him comfortingly, and Liam brushed away Louis's bangs, whispering, "You're alright, you're alright," softly.
By the time the van pulled back into the parking lot, it was nearly dark and the majority of the fans had dispersed. Still, they pulled around to the private back entrance to let the boys out.
Niall was beyond pale and obviously relieved to be in an open space yet again. Louis was half asleep and barely coherent, resulting in him being carried into the hotel.
Louis's nausea didn't disappear as quickly as hoped, so all 5 band members ended up in Louis and Liam's bedroom. Louis laid down on top of all the blankets, and within minutes all the other boys found their way onto the bed with him, whether it be directly beside or hanging off the end corner. They all lounged around for the remainder of the day, knowing Louis needed to take it easy.
The air conditioning was turned up high and before Louis passed out for the night, he managed a little glass of water. Everyone slept in the room, five boys sharing two beds, and were relieved when Louis woke up feeling good as new.

-----------

This was requested! It was from the WWA video when the boys all cram in a bread van. Couldn't resist putting claustrophobic Niall in there, he looked so uncomfortable in the clip. Hope it was alright(: of course i spent all day writing this instead of working on literally the piles and piles of work i have to do. Oooh well. Hope you're all doing okay(:
