Who Knew Hell Would Be So Close
A/N: I do not mean to be offensive to anyone through out this chapter. If you continue to find some of my writing on the wrong side please message me and I will resolve the problem!
The register opened with a ding, and Lillian proudly handed over six one-hundred dollar bills with a grin. The wrinkled brunnet across the counter took them and slid them into the black metal tray before handing back two twentys. She nodded to the she-wolf and called the next customer as the group walked out of the small store and headed to the bench holding two others. Klaire looked up from her phone and smiled, "Finally done?"
"No!" Lillian slumped down in between the two girls, "I got my dress, and shoes to go along with it, but I need some jewlery."
"You have plenty at home." Faith piped in.
"Shut up Fay! I need something new."
"For someone who doesn't want to meet their mate, you sure are trying hard."
"No one asked for your impute Martha! Besides, I gotta impress, show those men who their messing with-"
"Did you buy more then one pair of shoes Lill?" Klaire interrupted, eyeing the three bags on the floor.
"I only bought four..."
"Lill!"
"What?"
"Stop spending so much money!"
"Please, there is still enough left over to buy this entire mall."
"That money is for all of us!" Faith shouted as she put her phone away, "You have to think of everyone in the pack."
"So..."
"Why don't we just head home for the day? You've spent enough money for the day." Klaire pushed herself from her seat and began walking away. A hand latched onto the back of her sweater and stopped her.
"Aren't you forgetting something?" Lillian growled from behind.
"I have dresses at home!"
"Bull crap!" Martha and her sister said at the same time.
"Bull crap is right, your not getting out of this one chick!" Lillian gave the group a victorious smile as she pulled her friend into her tight embrace, "Your turn!" Klaire let out a soft groan and followed resistantly behind the three girls in front of her.
"Hello ladies, welcome to Devanie's Heaven, may I ask what you had in mind today?" A young women in her early thirties, popped in front of Klaire's small group the moment their feet entered the new store. Lillian gave her a polite smile before shoving her friend front and center.
"We have a large party coming up, and my friend here needs a dress that will have the men crawling all over. Sexy but classy. Perferably not black, it will wash her out and make her paler then she already is."
"Lilli!" Klaire sent an evil glare towards her friend, but the girl ignored her and continued her description of the dress she had in mind.
"My girl does love lace, so maybe a dress with some in it, oh and can I get something that shows some skin?"
"I think I can bring some dresses out that you would like. Just wait here and I will have Georgie accompany you to our dressing room." The women gave the girls a small smile and called out to one of the younger workers behind the counter before disappearing into the sea of dresses. Klaire watched in horror as a girl about two inches smaller then herself walked over and asked them to follow. Two pairs of hands locked around her arms and dragged her to the back.
"Come on guys, can't we go to a different store, like Macy's?"
"Please, Macy's is for cheap people."
"Faith!?" Klaire shouted out in disappointment, "That was so rude! How dare you say something like that."
"So..."
"Besides every body likes to shop cheap sometimes, not everyone has money like you guys. Plus look at my closet, I'm cheap, I don't like spending money on big bad fancy stores!"
"Your closet is anything but cheap, your closet is just plain and boring. This will be fun anyways!"
"No it won't!"
"Yes it-"
"I've come up with five dresses so far." The lady from before threw open the curtain with dresses covering her arms. Klaire locked her eyes on the fabric and groaned at the thought of trying them all on. The friends around her jumped from their seats and turned around with maniacal grins stretching from ear to ear. The moment the sales women left, they began undressing their friend and throwing on the soft fabric.
Klaire was basically gasping for air as her friends looked over the fifth dress. Lillian gave it a quick look over and shook her head in displeasure. Faith agreed and gave Martha the sign to untie the laced back of the corset, allowing Klaire to breathe normal.
Her clothes were half way on when the curtain was opened again. "Didn't like any of them?"
"No, something wasn't right. Klaire here needs something that makes it look like she came from heaven, you know make her blue eyes pop and her skin shimmer under the lights, like the goddess she is." The women took her words and suddenly smiled brightly.
"I know exactly what she needs." With a pep in her step, the women flew to the back of the store once more.
"If this doesn't work out were leaving!"
"If this doesn't work we are going to the next store." Martha said as she pulled one of the dresses up against her body and pretended to dance like she was already at the party.
"I have alpha duties to get back to."
"Mark has everything under control." Lillian grinned, "He knows this is important and has told me he is okay with taking the role on all night if needed." In defeat, Klaire banged her head against the wall and cried. This day was turning into a nightmare.
"Okay," the curtain opened again, the women walking in with a proud smile on her face, "This is a one of a kind dress. It was based off of Devanie's original dress, the one she started this lovely business on. It slipped into my head the moment you gave me your second description. If this doesn't say goddess, then I am going to have to find myself a new job."
Klaire reluctantly grabbed the white fabric and began stripping from her jeans and t-shirt. Left only in her nude underwear, she slipped into the soft silk and pulled it up. Lillian zipped up the back and gasped. Klaire could hear the other three girls in the room give her the same reaction. Curiosity got the best of her; she raised her eyes to the mirror and stood there shocked. The women was right, if the dress didn't say goddess, Klaire didn't know what else could. At her waist set a silver, reflective belt separating the lacy top holding her bust perfectly with a small split in the middle, from the mesh bottom that opened from her mid thigh all the way down. The dress flowed in the wind when ever she moved, like the streams of air were worshiping her smooth legs. It gave her Ivory skin tone a darker shade and gave the darkness of her eyes a way to shine. It's beautiful. For once Klaire was glad to have been forced into the trip. Something about the dress was sparking something inside of her, allowing the girliness deep within room to breathe.
"We'll take it!" Lillian said as she watched her friend in enjoyment. The women nodded in happiness and told them that once they were done, they could come to the register and she would ring them up. The sound of leaving soaked into Klaire's brain and she slipped from the dress quicker then anyone thought possible. Her clothes were on in less then a minutes, and she was at the counter before her friends could make a comment. By the time they got there the dress was in a bag and the women who had helped them was handing her the receit.
"I hope you shine at that party of yours."
"Oh I can't shine to much," She chuckled as she eyed her best friend, "There's someone else who is meant for the spot light." Klaire turned around and smiled at her friends. "Sooooo...now can we go?"
"Shoes!"
"You have those silver ones in your closet that you bought about one year ago. I can wear those!" Klaire spit out, "Please Lilli, I did the dress, and even agree that I do look good in it, but can we just go home now?" Klaire was about to drop to her knees and beg when Lillian sighed and agreed to leaving. As they left the three girls could see the joy radiating off of their human friend. The fact that leaving a mall could cause her so much joy was strange to them, but they would take it anyday. She did a lot for the entire pack and almost everyone could see it. Werewolf or not, Klarissa Drev was family to them.
A/N: This chapter is short I know, plus I'm going silent for the rest of the week. But dont worry, the party is on its way, and our little human murderer is on his way. I wonder how he will react to meeting Klaire and discovering what the moon goddess has decided to do with his fate. I'm excited for it!!
Lillian, Klaire, Faith, and Martha are like a group of their own. When something big comes up they are almost always together. The picture I chose is something I could see my lovely ladies doing. They do love the camera :)
