Chapter 16: Serum

A/n: Oh snap! What is IQ going to do?!?!?!! Here's the next chapter!

Sorry for the long wait!

(Y/n) POV:

Things were too quiet. The meet up time was approaching soon, yet I didn't see any scouts. This was unusual for the White Masks. Those terrorists would usually send a grunt or two to scout the area. However, it was dead silent.

This prompted a frustrated sigh from me. I leaned myself against the wall beside the window and looked down at the ground. IQ's condition was still bothering me. Even though I completely trust Doc, I couldn't help, but feel guilty.

'If I had been out there, the RPG wouldn't have been a problem.' I silently blamed myself. I then heard footsteps approach from behind me and turned to look. It was Ash, and she had a concerned expression.

"You alright?" The redhead questioned and placed her hand on my forearm. With my other hand, I gently placed it on top of hers.

"Not really." I muttered solemnly. Ash smiled weakly at me and sighed.

"It's not your fault, you know?" My girlfriend assured. I shook my head no. This definitely was my fault.

"I should have taken Monika's place. The armor she gave me is perfect for that kind of situation." I tired to reason, but only earned a frown from the shorter lady. Ash then lightly slapped me with her other hand.

"Stop saying this nonsense. What's done is done. Monika's okay, so that's all that matters, right?" Ash continued to comfort me. I nodded in agreement, and Ash nodded in satisfaction.

"Good, now focus on your mission. The White Masks should be here in two minutes." Ash reminded and jogged away to her position. I stretched my shoulders a little and repositioned my rifle. There was no point on worrying anymore. I'll check on IQ after the mission. For now, I've got some terrorists to take down.

As the meet up time arrived on the second, I saw some movement in the distance. My visor began zooming in on the movement. A live feed displayed in front of me. I made out about twenty armored trucks. My survival senses were telling me that something was wrong. You don't need twenty armored trucks to pick up some money.

"This is Hibana, keep your guard up. I think something's wrong." Hibana's voice sounded on the radio. I remained silent, as my eyes continued to follow the lead truck. It approached the building and then stopped at a high position. Then the rest of the trucks drove around to other places and parked.

The trucks had the building surrounded. The White Masks finally exited their vehicles, and my visor counted 280 men. There wasn't going to be a deal.

'It's a trap!' I thought, as I saw one terrorist pull out a RPG. My arms lifted up my sniper rifle, and my finger pulled on the trigger. The sound of a gunshot filled the air, and I saw a spray of red erupt from the White Mask's body. However, the terrorist managed to pull the trigger, and sent the RPG flying towards me.

"Contact!!!" I heard Vigil yell, and I dropped to the ground. The wall that I once leaned on, exploded. Rubble and dust was sent everywhere, but I crawled to safety.

Gunfire and explosions began to go off everywhere. I slung my sniper rifle over my shoulder and grabbed my AR. Without a moment to waste, I began heading to front entrance. That was the most vulnerable place, and I think that's why they placed the bulk of their forces there.

Along the way, I saw frag grenades break through the windows and land inside the building. I jumped out of the way before they exploded. My armor would protect me from the shrapnel, but I couldn't risk taking unnecessary damage.

"Phoenix! I need you in the front!" I heard Hibana scream into the radio.

"On my way." I replied briefly and continued on. Eventually, I reached the ground level and began heading to the front entrance. I stopped by a window and checked the area ahead of me. My body stiffened a little when I saw a familiar, yet unpleasant sight.

The juggernauts were back. This time, they had more armor, and they were armed with LMG's. The death machines were currently mowing down the building with unending gunfire. I noticed this was to get the regular men and suicide bombers into the building.

I unpinned one of my Reaper grenades and tossed it into the opening. Before it could land on the ground, my gadget was shot in the sky. It created a massive explosion, but it didn't do the trick. In fact, it only earned me their attention.

"It's Phoenix!" One of the White Masks announced, and all of the gunfire began hitting where I stood. I began sprinting away, while the trail of bullets followed in my wake. However, that wasn't my biggest concern. It was how quickly my surprise attack was interrupted.

'These soldiers are better than the others.' I noticed and slid behind a solid barrier. This time, I popped out for a split second to fire a short burst. My bullets ripped through a White Mask grunt's head, and I quickly took cover again.

Suddenly, I felt the ground rumble. I peered from cover to see that the grunts have entered the building. It was just the juggernauts and me.

I pulled out a flash-bang and and unpinned it. Instead of throwing it, I set it on an exposed corner and jumped out of cover. A blinding flash went off, and I aimed at the juggernauts. They were unaffected by the device.

'Shit.' The juggernauts emptied their rounds into my chest. I cursed in pain and sprayed them down. As I got back up and retreated to cover, I noticed that my bullets had no effect on them. They were loaded with advanced gear like me.

I had to think of something else to solve the problem. They overwhelmed me in fire power, our armor was equal, and they had way better skill than normal terrorists. Not to mention, I saw that the building had been infiltrated.

Normally I would rush in and help, but I had trust in my comrades' skills. On the other hand, the building would prove the perfect place for battle. However, it would also put my teammates at risk too.

"This is Phoenix, how's it looking inside the building?" I questioned.

"We managed to take down the suicide bombers, but the ground troops are still a big problem." Twitch replied. I began formulating a plan. Once I finished, I bolted into the building.

"I'm on my way." I notified. However, I was met with resistance.

"No! We need you to take down those juggernauts!" Hibana protested. I continued running down the hall and came across a lone White Mask. He began to swing is rifle my way, but I kicked it away before snapping his neck in three seconds.

"I have a plan to take down both at once." I replied. The radio was silent for a moment before Hibana spoke again.

"Fine. We'll draw back and pull them out from cover. You take care of it." Hibana answered reluctantly. I shut off my radio and proceeded to where the gunfire was.

Once I arrived, there was a dozen men in a staggered formation. They were shooting at one room, where my helmet picked up my teammates' position. I ran around the corner and began gunning them down.

The terrorists didn't have time to react, as I put a single round into their heads within each second. After twelve seconds, they were all bodies lying in their own pools of blood. Hibana peered from the doorway littered with bullet holes and frowned.

"Took you long enough." Hibana teased. Suddenly, I heard a cry of pain and looked up. A body fell from the balcony above and landed in front of me. On top of the balcony was Caveira.

"Twenty juggernauts and another truck with reinforcements on the way." Caveira notified, as she was cleaning her knife. I dropped my empty magazine and loaded another one. Hibana jogged over to me, and her face looked grim.

"You saw what was wrong with those juggernauts, right?" Hibana asked worriedly. I nodded.

"They're almost like me." I replied. Hibana's eyebrow raised in curiosity.

"Better or worse?" She questioned. I cocked my gun and began walking away.

"You'll soon find out." I briefly answered and walked back to where I came from. This was going to be a test of strength for me. Of course I'll rely on my teammates for cover, but these juggernauts are on a whole other level. They reminded me of me when I was just another weapon to the world.

My thoughts were interrupted when I heard heavy footsteps below me. I stopped moving and stood silently. My hand silently unpinned two Reaper grenades, and I tossed them down the hall. Black smoke began to fill up the air, and I hid in the darkness.

Time to let my old-self take over.

(Third Person POV):

As the rest of Team Rainbow retreated to supporting positions, a large portion of the building they secured was covered in black smoke. Despite the danger, the White Mask juggernauts continued advancing through the building.

During the whole attack, those twenty men never uttered a single word. It was almost as if they were lifeless killing machines. The lead juggernaut walked up the stairs and aimed his LMG. However, he soon lowered his weapon and pulled out a seven inch combat knife.

It was almost as if they knew one bullet was all it takes to end their lives. Unfortunately, this was also the case for (Y/n). He was currently standing in an unknown location hidden by the black smoke. This confusing decision by the Rainbow operator did not get past the team leader though.

"Why the hell is he in the smoke? Shouldn't he be outside and then set it off?" Hibana questioned.

"His armor can withstand the explosion to a certain degree, maybe he's trying to draw in the juggernauts?" Pulse suggested.

"They're not that stupid." Twitch commented and looked down on her wrist. The other operators stood around anxiously waiting for (Y/n)'s signal.

"Knowing (Y/n), it probably will be a big explosion." Ash pointed out. Suddenly, 3/4 of the building exploded. It shook the area, and the operators had to brace themselves. Considering they were on the last forth, it was unnerving.

The operators looked at the leveled area. Burning metal and rubble rained down from the sky. The ground was set ablaze, and there was a raging fire. It was like someone had dropped a missile on the area.

At the explosion site, all twenty of the juggernauts had entered the black smoke before it exploded. However, even in the fire, they seemed unfazed by the devastating weapon. On the other hand, (Y/n) sat under some rubble in pain.

The armor had protected him from lethal wounds, but the impact hurt nonetheless. He pushed away a sheet of metal and stood up. (Y/n) then activated his Spectre and scanned the area.

He located the juggernauts cell phones and proceeded to their location. He pulled out his combat knife and stealthily approached the juggernauts. Normally, you would be able to hear anyone approaching, but the raging fire deafened the area.

Just as (Y/n) was about to bring down his knife on a juggernaut, they spun around and knocked the soldier away. (Y/n) rolled across the ground and looked back at the juggernauts. They all turned around and began unloading. Their LMG's at the lone soldier.

(Y/n) unslung his sniper rifle and fired back while retreating. One of his shots landed square on the head of a juggernaut. The bullet managed to pierce the armor, but the juggernaut seemed unfazed. (Y/n)'s eyes grew wide in shock and he ducked away.

'Even with an armor piercing round at point blank range, the juggernauts seemed unaffected by my attacks.' (Y/n) noted and reloaded his weapon. Once he heard the clicks of his enemies' guns goin empty, he popped right out and opened fire.

(Y/n) accurately shot each juggernaut in the head, but the juggernauts continued to reload like nothing was happening. Unwilling to give up, (Y/n) reloaded quickly and tried again. This time, he put three bullets in the same spot he shot the first time. (Y/n) drew the blood from his enemies, but they were nowhere near death.

"What are you?" (Y/n) question aloud in disbelief. Instead of words, he was met with thousands of bullets. Luckily, they were cut short by (Y/n)'s teammates.

Ash and Hibana disabled the machine guns by shooting the guns. Vigil and Doc were giving suppressing fire, while Caveira and Pulse were flanking. (Y/n) used this opportunity to charge at his opponents.

The juggernauts threw away their useless heavy weapons and pulled out their sidearms. However, they were useless against (Y/n)'s armor, and was proven by the first shot.

As the bullet deflected off of (Y/n)'s chest, he began to take down the first juggernaut. (Y/n) punched and kicked in the most lethal spots to strike. Even though these juggernauts possessed armor, (Y/n) knew that there were always weak spots. The first unstoppable enemy dropped to his knees, and (Y/n) snapped his neck.

Without any time to rest, the others already had their blades in hand. They charged at (Y/n) and began to stab and slash. Ten of the White Masks managed to reach (Y/n), but the other nine had been cut off by C4 explosives. The enemy forces were split, and the remaining nine were left to deal with the other Rainbow operators.

"Are we seriously going to leave (Y/n) with ten?" Ash questioned her team leader. Hibana shrugged and shot a juggernaut in the ankle.

"You saw how he's taken down one of them with his bare hands." Hibana pointed out to Ash. Ash thought for a second before nodding in agreement.

Meanwhile, (Y/n) had successfully taken down three more juggernauts. Four armored bodies laid on the ground behind the male. The remaining seven juggernauts stood across from (Y/n) in silence. Both parties were waiting for each other to make the next move.

Before (Y/n) could do anything, he heard shuffling from behind him. (Y/n) cautiously peered behind him to see the juggernauts slowly stand up. (Y/n)'s eyes widened behind his helmet.

'Impossible! I snapped their necks and slit their throats!' (Y/n) thought to himself in disbelief. These juggernauts were un-killable!

Meanwhile...

The other members of Team Rainbow were currently facing the same problem. Pulse was holding down one of the juggernauts, while Caveira was continuously stabbing them in the neck.

"Why. Won't. You. Die?!!?!" Caveira screamed each time she stabbed. She was met with a growl from the juggernaut. Fed up with the lack of results, Caveira yanked off the helmet of the juggernaut she was trying to kill. There was something seriously wrong.

The juggernaut's face was completely pale, but had purple veins everywhere. Their eyes looked lifeless, and it only emitted growls. They were inhuman.

"What the hell are you?" Caveira questioned, but was met with feral roars. The Brazilian operator shut up the creature by decapitating it. The juggernaut's body finally went limp and was defeated. Pulse stood up and pulled out his cellphone.

"Great. Only eight more to go." Pulse muttered in irritation and pressed call. More explosions went off, and the operators turned to see the other juggernauts disembodied.

Their bodies split into two, but they were still moving. Pulse's face scrunched up in disgust, while Doc and Caveira sliced their heads off.

"Interesting, it's almost like out of a zombie movie. And I know the undead." Doc referenced. Caveira rolled her eyes and was about to decapitate the last one, but Doc stopped her. She looked at the male doctor in confusion.

"What?" Caveira questioned. Doc glanced down at the still moving juggernaut.

"I believe this is a potential WMD. We should take this back for research." Doc suggested. Caveira grunted in disapproval, but put away her knife.

"You're carrying that thing back." She replied and pressed her radio button.

"Phoenix, you kill them by decapitating them." Caveira notified.

"Or shoot them into submission." Vigil inputed, as he dragged a juggernaut's body over. He dropped three empty magazines to his deadly SMG. It had hundreds of bullet holes in its chest and head.

"Copy that. However, I already knew that" (Y/n) responded to the information and jammed his Desert Eagle under a juggernaut's head and pulled the trigger seven times. This caused the soldier's head to combust in a fiery of blood and brain matter.

The red liquid sprayed all over (Y/n)'s armor and gun, but he didn't care. He was too exhausted and dropped to his knees. Around him were eleven bodies killed in different ways. Some disembodied, while others were just gunned to death. (Y/n) tiredly lifted his finger and pressed it against the talk button.

"All clear." He reported and panted heavily. This had been his toughest battle since the previous juggernaut he faced. What's worst of all? This was the first time he was genuinely scared in battle in a long time.

Timeskip brought to you by chibi (Y/n) snapping a LMG in half....

(Y/n) POV:

After the battle, we were packing up to leave. I decided to check what I killed and something bothered me. There were these odd injection marks all over the juggernauts' bodies. The spine, arm, legs, and even the head.

These things seemed familiar to me, but I couldn't quite pin my finger on what it was. I then looked up to see Doc dragging one of the juggernaut's bodies towards the truck. I stood up and walked over to him.

"What are you doing with that? Muro and Lucifer said they'll handle the clean up." I asked curiously. Doc let out a tired breath and looked at me with dead seriousness.

"You saw those marks, didn't you?" Doc questioned. I nodded, and the both of us looked down at the body.

"I'm taking this in for biopsy. To require decapitation or America's supply of ammunition to kill it is terrifying." Doc answered. I nodded in agreement. The need to essentially overkill these things was ridiculous.

However, I decided to leave the worrying to Doc and pay attention to what was more important. The condition of my girlfriend. I looked around for IQ and didn't see her, so I turned to Doc.

"How's Monika?" I asked with worry. Doc chuckled a little and patted my shoulder.

"She's fine." He assured me, and I let out a sigh of relief. That is until he squeezed my shoulder roughly and looked at me sternly.

"However, there may come a time where you must be understanding and adaptive." Doc ominously warned. I gave him a confused look. Before I could say anything, there was an ear piercing roar coming from the sky.

I looked up to the air, and my helmet began to scan the sky. Once t finished, it displayed a single aircraft moving at high speeds. My eyes widened when the identification processed.

"That's an F-22 Raptor!" I alerted everyone. Hibana looked at me in confusion.

"We never called in for air support. Much less an American fighter craft!" Hibana exclaimed with concern. Doc and I glanced at each other with grim expressions. This was the clean up. And it wasn't from our friends from Mexico.

"Everyone! Get into the trucks! Now!" Hibana barked orders. Twitch and Vigil hopped into the driver's seat first. Next came Caveira and Pulse. Then it was Hibana, Doc, and me. IQ and  Ash were missing.

"Where is Eliza and Monika?" I questioned anxiously.

"Right here!" I heard Ash's voice and turned to see her supporting IQ. I quickly ran over and wrapped my arm under the german blonde's. She looked at me weakly.

"Sorry, it just hurt too much." IQ apologized and held her abdomen. This had been a reoccurring issue for her. However, we'd have to worry about it later.

"It's okay. Let's focus on getting out of here alive." I stated and scooped IQ into a bridal position. Ash and I ran over to a truck and hopped in.

Once Hibana confirmed we were all here, we immediately left the complex. My helmet kept track of the approaching fighter jet, and I peered out of the window. The F-22 dropped a cylindrical device, and I watched as it slowly sailed towards the base. An even larger explosion than what I created went off.

It shook the entire truck and almost threw us off the road. Luckily, Vigil wasn't as bad of a driver as Dokkaebi said he was. I never doubted the male Korean operator's skills.

"Ugh!!!" I heard IQ scream in pain and looked down at her. She was curled up and clenching her stomach. I gently held onto her shoulder reassuringly.

"What's going on?" I questioned with worry. IQ blinked away some tears and shook her head.

"I-It's nothing. Just the pains after that RPG." IQ explained. I was unsure about it, but I trusted her.

"Okay, I just worry." I replied and kissed her on the cheek. I then leaned back and looked over at Ash. She was pretending to pout.

"Oh no! I have a really painful feeling right here. What will I ever do?" Ash claimed over dramatically while pointing at her cheek. IQ rolled her eyes in amusement.

I responded to Ash's teasing with a French kiss. She yelped in surprise, but eventually gave into it. I heard annoyed groaning coming from the front. We all turned to see Twitch whining.

"We just avoided death a few seconds ago. Can you two wait until we get back to base?" Twitch complained. Ash stuck out her tongue at the French operator.

"Don't give me that tone. We know what you've been doing with Mr. Anime. One more base until home run." Ash teased and caused Twitch to blush red.

"Y-You can't prove anything!" Twitch said too quickly. Just before Ash could continue to egg her on, I stopped her.

"Let's just enjoy the fact that we're still here in one piece." I said tiredly and closed my eyes. I felt Ash's head rest on my shoulder, as I slowly drifted off to sleep.

(IQ POV):

(Y/n) began to softly snore shortly after he spoke. I stared at my boyfriend for a bit before looking at Ash. She was resting against (Y/n), but a troubled expression was on her face. I knew perfectly why.

We both knew that I was pregnant. (Y/n) on the other hand, did not.

Flashback....

"What are you going to do now, Monika?" Doc questioned with his arms crossed. I bit my lip while in thought. These symptoms were only going to become more prominent. It was going to be hard to hide this from (Y/n). On the other hand, should I hide it from him.

I grunted in frustration and combed my hair back with my fingers. "I don't know." I answered honestly and looked at Doc. He was looking at me in thought. Suddenly, I heard the door open and turned to see who it was.

"Hey Monika, how are you?" Ash appeared in the doorway. I sighed tiredly, and Ash's expression grew concerned.

"What's wrong?" The redheaded operator questioned and sat down beside me. I stared at the ground not wanting to respond.

"Gustave, what's going on?" Ash demanded impatiently. Doc sighed and then pulled out his phone. He tapped the screen and held it in front of Ash. It was a recording of Pulse getting two heartbeats from me. One from my chest, the other from my abdomen.

Ash gasped in shock and turned to look at me. I began to tear up and looked at Ash in the eye. "I-I don't know what to do." I said in desperation.

Ash continued to stare into my eyes. She then looked away and seemed to be in thought. However, it looked like she was very upset about something. I sighed in defeat.

"If you don't want to help me, it's fine. Just-" Ash cut me off my shushing me. She then gently grasped my hand and looked at me in the eyes.

"I'll support what path you go about doing this, but..." She trailed off and made me curious to what she'll say next. "....you must tell him." Ash finished her statement. I let out a shaky breath and nodded.

"I know, but when?" I questioned. Ash didn't even blink and spoke.

"That's your decision, but if you decide to hide this from him. I'll tell him myself." Ash stated in all seriousness. I nodded in understanding. There was no hiding something this serious. Ash then patted my hand and pointed at my belly.

"For now, let's focus on getting this little one to safety. Not to mention, you need to decide what to do after this mission, not for our sake, but this one." Ash said sternly while pointing. I blinked away my tears and sniffled.

"Okay, and thank you." I thanked the redheaded operator. Ash cracked a small smile and nodded, as she helped me up. Doc then walked over to us and told us that he had some bodies to take care of before leaving.

While heading to the transport vehicles with Ash, I continued to decide on whether to tell (Y/n) or not. How will he react to my pregnancy? Will he hate me? Will he leave me? What will he want to do with the baby?

Many questions ran through my head. However, I just have to hope that (Y/n) will be alright.

Flashback end....

(Ash POV):

I glanced over at IQ to see that she was still worried. I would feel the same if I were in her position. Aside from all of the worry and fear, I actually felt a little jealous. It's not that I was hoping to get pregnant, but I did want to have a child with (Y/n).

I am around the age where having a family would be ideal. Also considering how dangerous my job is, I might not be able to find something this good in the future. (Y/n) was an amazing man, and I didn't want to let him go.

A baby would probably seal the deal, but I wasn't sure how he'd react. From what I know of, (Y/n) didn't have the best childhood. I don't necessarily think he'll be a bad father, but is he ready? I'll just have to eventually see. Not to mention....

'It's kind of weird that I'm thinking about kids before marriage...' I thought to myself and felt a slight blush forming. This made me silently curse someone a little.

'Dammit mom! Always trying to get me to hook up and stuff. Now it's subconsciously stuck in my head!!!' I silently complained. Suddenly, I felt (Y/n)'s arm wrap around me. I looked to see that he was still asleep.

A smile formed on my lips that he did that subconsciously. That confirmed what I thought about him. He even hugged IQ a little more, and I noticed that she saw this.

"It's going to be okay." I whispered to IQ. She glanced at me and sighed in slight relief. Even though this pregnancy is undoubtedly shocking news. I'm sure (Y/n) will still be there for us.

Timeskip brought to you by chibi (Y/n) cosplaying as Goku, while chibi Echo cosplays as Vegeta...

(Third Person POV):

"¡Merde!" The French doctor of Team Rainbow cursed. Doc was in the infirmary with two other operators. Finka and Bandit.

Doc had failed to retrieve a juggernaut's body due to the airstrike. Hibana is currently reporting about the incident to Six. Even Six was shocked by the firepower that the White Masks possessed. However, their main concern was these juggernauts.

As of now, Doc, Finka, and Bandit are in charge of research on the juggernauts. Luckily, Doc managed to obtain several blood samples before the bombing. He was looking at one sample through the microscope.

"What is it, doctor?" Finka questioned, as she set down another stack of test results. Doc was comparing the blood sample to multiple other blood samples. Mainly ones that have been mixed with steroids, stim, nano-enhancements, or cocaine.

"This is unbelievable!" Doc exclaimed in fascination. His outburst awakened the sleeping Bandit. The German operator stumbled out of his seat and fell to the ground. Along the way, knocking over a brick of white powder.

"I swear I was testing this stuff!" Bandit immediately denied. Finka glared at him in annoyance. There was a faint white trace under the German's nostrils.

"Anyways, why is this unbelievable?" Finka asked curiously. Doc stepped aside and gestured to the microscope. Finka looked into the tool, and Doc began to explain.

"On the left is a blood sample with my Stim enhancement and your nano-boost." Doc began to explain. Finka hummed in understanding. Then Doc leaned down at the table with a grim expression.

"On the right is the juggernaut's blood sample." Doc said grimly. The right blood sample seemed to contain a blue liquid that glowed faintly. Finka's eyes widened, and she turned to look at Doc.

"Now do you understand? Whatever is in that juggernaut blood sample gave an enhancement ten times more powerful than ours combined." Doc finished explained. Finka was at a loss for words. She could only glance back at the microscope and wonder what could produce such results.

"Damn. Now that's helluva drug." Bandit commented abruptly.

Meanwhile....

(Y/n) POV:

I was staring at the ceiling in silence. Once the team arrived back at base, IQ and Ash were already asleep. I carried them to our room and brought them to bed. Bow the two ladies were lying on my left and right side sleeping.

Even though I was still tired, my mind felt restless. Even during my nap, I had this dream. No. It was an actual memory. Now it keeps on replaying through my head.

Flashback before Syrius betrayal....

I was laying down on this cold metal bed. My orders were to show up here a day ago, and I did. Not that I had a choice, the whole time I was escorted and blindfolded.

Since my time of arrival, they had impaled me with a bunch of tubes. After that, the tubes began to inject a certain blue liquid.

I couldn't think about it too much because the process hurt worse than hell. In fact, it was the most pain I've ever felt by far. Even though my screams filled the air, they weren't the only one.

Turns out there was another guy here. He was older than me, and looked to be in his mid twenties. The two of us suffered the same process for who knows what.

Finally, after three days, the needles were removed from my body mechanically. I let out a pained gasp and panted heavily. A bead of sweat rolled down my head, and I looked over to see the other person here currently in the same condition.

"Why did they let a kid here? You know what? My back hurts too much to care." The man commented. He had dark raven hair and blue eyes. His skin tone was light with several scars across his body. The man had a good body build and from the slight movements he makes, I could tell he was dangerous.

"Hey, do you know why you're here?" The man asked casually. I hopped off of the metal bed and looked at him. For some reason, he felt like someone you could take to.

"Orders." I cautiously spoke. His eyebrow perked up in curiosity before he hopped off of his bed.

"Orders? Aren't you tok young for the military? Who am I kidding? I started pretty young too." He scratched his chin in the memory. I didn't have time to deal with the guy. Now was the time to find out what to do next. However, I was left with nothing, but my boxers. No orders, no weapons, no supplies. Just some chuckling dude who was injected with the same stuff as me.

Suddenly, I the room we were in began to shake. I began to walk over to the metal door despite the tremors. My hand pulled the lever and saw that it was unlocked. I then heard a scoff coming from the raven haired male.

"Would you look at that? That seems fishy." He commented, as I opened the door. Once the door swung open, I was met with the loud ringing of gunfire and mortar shells.

'What is this?' I silently questioned. I then felt a tap on my shoulder and whipped around in a defensive position. It was the guy in the room, and he held up his hands in peace.

"Whoa there! Sorry to startle you." He apologized. I lowered my fists and looked at him hesitantly. A smirked formed on his face.

"Look. I know you don't trust me, but we're probably going to die here from the looks of it." He stated while pointing outside. I continued to remain silent.

"So, that's why I propose we work together to get the hell out of Dodge." The male suggested. My eyebrow raised in skepticism. He then held out his hand for me to shake.

"I'm Kyle Smite, special forces. My superiors kidnapped me and put me here. I'm assuming you faced the same ordeal." Kyle introduced himself. I was a little surprised to how trusting he was. Kyle didn't look hostile, but I had to be cautious. However, there wasn't many options right now.

I had nothing, but Kyle to rely on. If he was special forces, his help would be a deciding factor to survival out here in this random place. I looked up at the man and firmly grasped his hand.

"(Y/n) (L/n). I'm in." I agreed. His smirk grew into a grin. The two of us exited the building and into the battlefield without nothing but our boxers.

Timeskip brought to you by chibi (Y/n) going commando....

"I still can't believe that you can throw your knife that far." Kyle commented with a slight chuckle. I nodded and glanced at him.

"Well you did shoot that guy with your eyes closed and a bullet wound in your arm." I pointed out. Kyle shrugged, and we continued walking. We managed to acquire supplies and weaponry.

Right now, the two of us were headed towards a nearby town in Somalia. Our higher ups thought it would be a great idea to leave some of their best soldiers in a country currently under a civil war with nothing. However, we managed to get by somehow.

It was almost as if our skills and abilities were better. It was ever so slight, but I could tell. Even Kyle noticed, and he claimed to be the stupidest person on his unit. Suddenly, Kyle held up his hand for us to move.

The two of us immediately ran into a small crevice in the ground. I held my AK-47 ready. Kyle peered over the sandy hill. He then glanced down at me.

"Four armored trucks. Definitely American." Kyle notified. My eyebrows furrowed in thought. Why would there be those out here? A spotlight then lit up our position. Kyle immediately ducked down.

"Crap! They know our position!" Kyle cursed and readied his rifle. I nodded and grabbed a frag grenade from my bag. Before pulling the pin, I heard a familiar voice.

"Hey Reaper! It's Syrius! Stand down!" Syrius ordered. I lowered my hand and peered over the sand mound. Sure enough, it was Syrius. However, he seemed to be accompanied by someone I didn't know.

The man looked to be around Syrius' age, but definitely had experienced more. I could see the look in his left piercing eye. A scar ran through both of them. Not to mention the assortment of others that plagued the man's muscular body. He had short white hair and wore a military uniform. His most noticeable feature was his right red eye.

"Oh. It's-" Kyle was cut off when the mysterious man spoke.

"I see you survived the test, Kyle." The mysterious man spoke in a gruff voice. Then Syrius waved for the both of us to come over.

Kyle and I approached the two men and saw several other people exit the trucks. They were carrying briefcases and wore medical masks. I was curious to why they had that attire, but I wasn't in a position to ask questions.

However, there was one thing that irked me. The personnel accompanying Syrius and the mysterious man took blood samples from Kyle and I. They also asked questions on how we felt and etc.

"After you're done, Reaper, we're heading back. Say your goodbyes and whatever." Syrius notified and hopped into his truck. I nodded and turned to Kyle.

"So (Y/n), this will probably be the last time we'll see each other." Kyle stated with a light hearted chuckle. I nodded in agreement. Our field of work was like that. One day you see someone, the next they're dead. The two of us shook hands and looked into each other's eyes.

"However, you better make it out and find a bunch of busty women." Kyle stated with a grin. I rolled my eyes and met go of his hand.

"You go ahead and do that first." I replied. He snapped his fingers and pointed at me.

"I'll hold you to that after I get my amazing medal. You better show up." Kyle responded before walking to his truck. His upbeat attitude amused me, but it felt slightly relieving.

'Reminds me of Marco.' I thought to myself and walked over to my truck.

Flashback end.....

I sighed tiredly and felt someone shuffle. It was IQ. She scooted up a little and pulled my head down to her chest.

"Sleep." IQ ordered. I nodded and then closed my eyes. The position was slightly uncomfortable, so I moved my head a little. There was something I noticed before falling asleep.

There was a faint thump coming from IQ's stomach.

A/n: I hope you all enjoyed this chapter. I wonder how (Y/n) will react to IQ's news. What is in those juggernauts? Is Bandit really testing? Who is Kyle? Who is that man with the red eye? There are so many questions that can only be found in the next chapter.

PS: I'm extremely sorry for the extremely long wait. There's been a lot of college stuff and I was in the country side surviving my butt off. Hope you all enjoyed.
