“Turn off all mobile phones and fasten your seatbelts. We are about to land now”. The air hostess announced.

The sounds of belts clicking together and phones turning off filled the atmosphere. Sitted by one windows immersed in a deep nap, a young man sat with an eye mask on his face; he certainly didn’t hear the announcement.

“The time is 10:27pm and we are landing in Monterrey International Airport now. Thank you for choosing Aero México Airlines and we hope you enjoy your stay here. Welcome to New Mexico city” she continued as the plane taxied on the tarmac.

The plane soon stopped and the stairs slowly dropped out for the passengers to disembark. A hand jerked the man by the window out of his sleep.

“Excuse me sir, aren’t you coming down?” the feminine voice asked slowly.

The figure pulled the mask from his eyes and looked around. Everyone was out except him making him a bit embarrassed; but who wouldn’t fall asleep during a 5 hour 27 minutes flight?

“Sorry for my incompetence” he said picking his briefcase from the compartment it sat.

“Welcome to New Mexico City” she called out smiling as he exited the plane.

He walked to Terminal A where their luggage were kept and without difficulty spotted his own, he walked to the exit door and looked around for his escort. Soon enough, a woman in glasses standing on the other sidewalk was made out waving to him but he didn’t spot her. She tried to call his name but her voice was drowned out by the sounds of vehicles passing by.

“Excuse me, are you Mr. Devine?” a petite voice asked close by.

He turned to see an average built woman gazing at him through a pair of glasses. She wasn’t short but since he was taller than her, he considered her short.

“Yes I’m Jacob Devine and you are my escort right?”

“Bella Andrews, your personal assistant from the Telerobotics company and your escort also” she replied in a snap.

Jacob narrowed his eyes and studied the woman standing before him. She resembled a nerd with her glasses and hair pinned up, her eyes appeared tiny through the lens but they contained a feisty look and possessed a witty attitude; that of one who enjoyed bossing people around. This assistant was going to be a tough one to deal with.

“I don’t think we should continue standing here with you checking me out. My car is parked down there so I’ll just bring it over”. She turned and walked off.

And a sharp tongue. He added to his list as he watched her walk out. For some reasons, this new persona assistant fascinated him and irked his attention but it wasn’t time for matchmaking. He concluded.

        A red Audi car pulled up and stopped in front of him. Putting his luggage in the boot, he climbed into the passenger seat and the car drove off.

“So where are we headed to?”

“To a hotel of course, for you to rest. How was your flight?”

“It was a nice but long one” he turned to her and continued. “Spanish girls are really sexy so I’m guessing my stay here is going to be exciting”. He flashed her a suggestive grin and winked.

Bella took a quick glance at the man Sitted beside her and felt a churn in her guts.
This guy was really perverted; he had been checking her out since they met at the airport and wasn’t trying to hide it. He equally was handsome and had a captivating look with a masculine and domineering air springing from him but she wasn’t in the mood to start thinking of dating especially when it happened to be a colleague she worked with.

“Are you done analyzing me?” Jacob’s voice barred in her thoughts making her freeze.

Now this guy was a freak. She yelled inside her head. Wasn’t he closing his eyes so how did he notice her staring at him, the awkward part was that she was caught in the act?

“What are you talking about?” Bella sputtered.

“You were blind driving few minutes ago, I just called your attention” he replied giving her a coy grin.

Urgh! Guys can be so exasperating. She cursed. Her grip tightened on the steering wheel and soon she exhaled a sigh of relief when they got to their destination. Luckily for her, the hotel was a 5 minutes’ drive from the airport and she was happy that it wasn’t so far because the silence in the car was becoming hard for her to handle.

“Welcome to Best Western Premier Hotel, Monterrey Aero Puerto” she said and hurriedly strode in. Jacob stood and admired the building before he picked his bags and followed behind her; the company had good taste and knew how to treat their guests. The receptionist gave them the keys to their rooms and they walked into the elevator, it stopped on the fourth floor. They stepped out and walked on taking their stop in front of a door with Room 421 nailed to it.

       On opening the door, Jacob gaze in awe at the sight. It was relatively large and had French windows giving him the opportunity to have an outlook and admire the lovely scenery of Mexico City at nightfall. At the far end of the room sat a white chaise longue, across it was the double-sized king bed with sparkling white sheets laid on it.

“There’s an outdoor pool and a gym downstairs if you feel any need to use them. The room is air-conditioned with free Wi-Fi for your internet activities”. Bella’s voice bellowed out beside him.

For a moment, Jacob had forgotten about his sexy P.A that stood beside him. He returned his gaze to her body and continued checking her out. Her fairly toned legs stretched out from an office skirt that had a slit in the front and her feet were covered in red heels; perhaps four inches. He estimated. Looking up, his eyes landed on her plump smoothed lips covered in red lipstick. What would it taste like if he kissed them?

“Mr. Devine” she waved her hands in his face. “Excuse me, Mr. Devine. Can you hear me?”

“Hmm….. I’m sorry. What were you saying?”

A frustrated look leaped to her face and anger welled up inside her. She had never worked with a guy like this before; so annoying, hard to deal with and inattentive. Quickly making up her mind not to repeat any word she uttered before, she took long strides to the door. That would teach him a lesson.

“I was going to take my leave now, hope you rest well and enjoy your stay here” Bella responded with a fake smile plastered on her face before dashing out of the room leaving Jacob without a chance to mouth a word. He sniggered and closed the door behind her, undoing his tie he fell on the bed and retrieved a cigarette stick from his breast pocket; a habit he had formed. As he puffed the smoke out, he thought of how he was going to hook up with some ladies then he remembered he hadn’t asked for his schedule for the next day and cursed silently. I will get you for this one Bella. He smirked and closed his eyes.
