The story behind this poem is a little funny. I have this thing about me where I can remember dates for very important events in my life, so there's a lot of times I'll be thinking, "It's been one year since _____." I really wanted to write a poem about it, and one day I got bored in jazz band and created a work but I zoned out before I could write anything (doesn't that sound familiar XD). I went to Girls' Camp from June 11-15, 2018, and one thing that my stake started doing was a dance party after the testimony meeting on the last day. We all learn the same dance created by one of the YCL's each year so we can dance together, so in the middle of me learning this dance, I randomly got the idea how to write the poem.

"I HAVE AN IDEA I NEED TO WRITE IT DOWN BEFORE I FORGET IT"

Either way, in the middle of my writing it, I realized that the style was looking kind of like a song, so I decided to finish it using that sort of format. It actually took me only about an hour. Poems typically take me about four hours to complete, granted I don't pause and come back to it another day.

I always had the idea for it to be about time, but this was actually written after I got a little too obsessed with a song my friend wrote, so I had that stuck in my head the entire time I was at camp, and it did contribute a little, but I can't really say it inspired the lyrics because I had most of the general ideas figured out long before I heard the song.

I'm trying to write a melody for it, but I've never done that before, so wish me luck!
