Chapter Four: Separation

Sasuke's POV

Night time.

I yawned and sat under the nearest tree I saw. "We'll rest here." I said to the others. Karin and Juugo nodded before they started making a fire. Suigetsu, on the other hand, grinned at me and sat beside me. He patted my back and spoke, "We'll find her Bossy. I just know it!" A ghostly smile crept its way to my features as I nodded.

I averted my eyes at the starry night sky.

Sakura Haruno-Uchiha.. We'll be together soon.

I then darted my eyes to our ring I kept on my necklace. I wonder if she's thinking of me too? Is she mad at me because I failed to rescue her before? I hope not. But even so, I'll do anything to make it up to her. I'll do anything to make her mine again.

"Hey, Sasuke!"

I turned my head to Karin's direction and raised her an eyebrow. She had a stern face.

"I can feel other chakra signatures and they're coming this way!"

My eyes shot wide as I stood up and sensed our surroundings. Damn it! Suigetsu and Juugo went into a fighting stance with their knives in hand.

"How many are they?!" I asked and pulled out my katana.

"Three...no, wait! Four..five...Shit! There are seven of them, Sasuke! What are we gonna do?!"

I frustratedly growled. Rogue ninjas. Tsk. And the hardest part is, we're outnumbered!! "Damn it."

I scanned our surroundings and felt the spark of a chakra a few meters away from us behind a bush. I pulled out a shuriken and threw it at the chakra's direction.

"GAH!"

We heard someone yelled and immediately, me and the others rushed our way towards the bush."Sasuke! What did you---"

"Sshh! Keep quiet, dammit!" I silenced Suigetsu and looked behind the bushes, only to find..

"Nothing."

I froze and soon enough, a sinister laugh filled the air as we jerked our heads to look at the tree branch behind us. There, standing on it is a blonde haired man who looked partially like Ino. He had his long hair in a high ponytail and some of it covered his left eye.

My eyes darted at what he was wearing.

A black cloak, with a red cloud on it.

"The Akatsuki."

I heard Juugo vocalize what I was thinking and saw him clenched his jaw. I glared at the blonde, who now had a smirk on his face.

"What a shame, un.. You fell for the lamest trap we had up our sleeves!"

After the said that, other Akatsuki members came out of nowhere and surrounded us with high-class weapons.

"Tsk! And to think that you are the Ruler of the Fire Country, yeah! Hahaha!"

And before anyone of us could react, the Akatsuki nins made a jutsu and released a thick cloud of smoke.

"*cough*cough* Sasuke-sama! This is some kind of sleeping gas!! *cough*"

I heard Juugo yelled which made me panic. I coughed and tried to prevent myself from inhaling anymore smoke, when I suddenly felt dizziness take over me.

I knew it was too late.

"Get him! Leader-sama wants him alive!"

I heard someone ordered before I was engulfed by darkness.
