Jefferson- Hero (h)
Your fiancé was a good man, despite what he thought of himself, and you loved him more than anything.
His daughter was such an amazing girl, you were proud to be able to have a hand in raising her a little more but Jefferson had always been a great father to her.
You and your fiancé were sat out on the outdoor sofa of your balcony that adjoined to your bedroom.
The balcony looked over the forest of Storybrooke in which your mansion was situated, it really was a breath taking view with the stars shining down as they scattered across the night's sky.
It was only a shame that the two of you were spending the night out there due to such an unhappy occurrence.
Jefferson had woken up because of a nightmare, a particularly graphic one, and made his way outside but when you woke up without him next to you – you made the decision to join him out on the balcony.
He had his hands joined together in his lap, whilst you were curled up next to him and your hands resting on his left arm.
"I'm not good enough for her. In either of our lives" he told himself, his voice completely broken.
You shook your head, rubbing his arm comfortingly, "You have always been, and always will be, a hero in Grace's eyes" you reminded him.
He scoffed at your words "I don't know what heroes you're aware of, but I am far from being a hero" he disagreed with you.
You sighed "You know that Grace will always love you, no matter what" you voiced your thoughts, moving one hand from his arm to his cheek so that he looked at you "You are her father Jefferson, a father is always his daughter's hero" you spoke in a soft tone.
His eyes were pained whilst he held your gaze "What about if we ever have children? They'll hate me after having found out what I've done to people. I've been such a shit person, done god awful things" he ranted slightly, but meaning every word he spoke which practically broke your heart.
"Your past does not define your future my love" your thumb gently on his cheek as you talked.
He let out a sigh "But-" he attempted to say something horrid about himself again.
You shook your head for the second time "No buts" you stated, "Our children will grow up with a father who loves them all unconditionally, just as he already does with our amazing daughter now" you voiced what always went through your head when you thought of Jefferson as a father.
A smile finally made its way onto your fiancé's face, despite it being a slightly watery one, "You're too good for me" he whispered, turning his head to kiss your palm.
Your smile mimicked his "No my love. I am just right for you"
