Moonshine
(AAAAAAAAHHHHHH- Funfact, I name the chapters after I've written it. Oh and, this is an important fact for this chapter, maybe future ones. Ryuko's senses are enhanced. So smell, taste, sight, and hearing are quite good. I'm trying to get better at not putting it in as an authors note and making it part of the chapter but :/.)
Ryuko's lunchtime had ended and she hadn't eaten. No biggie. She would just eat dinner in four hours. If she could make it for four hours... No big deal at all!
The house had never looked better. She had scrubbed every floor in the house, polished everything, and made everything sparkle with the help of her animal friends. Every day she would still have to pick lintels from ashes. Weird task but if it meant she could go to the ball, she was happy with doing it. While everyone was doing their simple things, Jin was at work, Chitose was... doing something... and Himiko... she didn't know, well, anyways... Ryuko was working while everyone else went back to work.
She was in the wine cellar at the moment, removing all the bottles so she could dust the shelves. Chitose had a large collection of wines, champagnes, and liquors so it would take a while. Chitose was most likely an alcoholic. That was at least three hundred bottles of alcohol. Wait, no. Two hundred and ninety nine. She just dropped a bottle of Moonshine.
She moved quickly so she could clean it up before Catsuki found his way down and accidentally step on the glass. Catsuki always slept in the wine cellar at exactly one. It was about twelve fifty four.
That cat was gonna be the death of her.
(I- )
Ryuko quickly cleaned up the glass shards. They were everywhere. Moonshine smelt pretty good but quite overwhelming. She thought she might faint just because of it. Her senses had always been quite good so she was kinda suffering, if that made sense.
(Moonshine smells kinda good ngl-)
Ryuko left the cellar for a second. Not to leave it there, but to get a good breath of fresh air. She couldn't stand the smell after too long. She walked back down and immediately grabbed a rag she had found. She was just gonna get the rag wet with the liquid then pick up the tinier glass shards off the floor. That was a good plan. Then she could just pick up where she left off. Dusting and putting wine back on the shelves...
-------
(Yes useless, I'm just tryna fill up space UwU. Oh, I deadass forgot Toga kidnapped Ochako for a second-)
Only the next day, Ryuko was back to tending to both Jin and Himiko. As she was helping, she heard a large crash. It took a second for her to realize it was too quiet to be in the kitchen. Since they were in the ballroom just messing around, it...
Shit, it was in the wine cellar.
Ryuko took a heavy breath, realizing it was one pm. She was going to hit a cat and that was a fact. Ryuko exhaled before grabbing her broom and a rag. How many glass shards was she gonna hurt herself with? Too many most likely. She never got cut before but... she started cursing quietly on her way down.
Crash!
Ryuko continued to curse as she realized more bottles were being knocked over by the dumb cat. Why was he doing this to her?!
Ryuko was shouting profanities now. She was actually angry. She should've calmed down before she began shouting at an actual animal. But she didn't. She had a voice prepared for a full blown debate. Catsuki's voice was... deep, always sounded like he smoked one too many cigars, and it just sounded like he was pissed all of the time. Perfect voice for a little... twat like him!
She would have to start using that insult more often. Twat. It was perfect!
When she finally got into the cellar she could hardly breathe. Not just physically. Metaphorically as well. The room reeked of moonshine, wine, champagne, and other alcoholic beverages. Chitose had a damn problem!
Catsuki began meowing for help. He knew glass was sharp, that's why he had a scar on his paw. It cut him once and now he was scared of it.
"You pussy." She cursed and walked over glass shards and the mixture of drinks. She wasn't gonna force him to do something he was scared of like how Chitose made her sleep in the cellar instead of her room some nights. Not like her room was any better. It was the attic with a bed made of pure hay, a desk for the few cloth- rags she did have, and a place to put all the things she made. She was grateful for a room but she would rather sleep on the sofa instead of the attic or the cellar.
"C'mere you little twat." Ryuko whispered, carrying him out of the cellar. She began speaking in a high pitched voice that she would use for Ochako. "You're a little brat. I hope you've learned your lesson. When you knock over glass, you might step on it." He could sleep on the piano like usual.
(I love making Catsuki a bigger villain than the real villains- I should've made Ochako a roach dammit. That way I could call her Ocharoach-)
Ryuko walked back down to find a mop. It was usually in the corner. At least three bottles were knocked down by the cat so she wouldn't be inhaling beverage for too long. The mop would probably smell like wine though. Was she supposed to use a mop or was she supposed to use a rag like last time? She accidentally cut herself on her knees when she used the rag though.
Whatever.

"Hey Jin! Look what I found!" Himiko smiled as she fished out the jar she had a rat in. She didn't know if it was a mouse or a rat. Jin looked at it, realized what it was, and screamed. He backed up against a wall as she teased him with it. "It's not gonna hurt you! You big baby!" Himiko said, shoving it closer to his face.
"Yes it will! Let me hold it!" He screamed. "It has diseases, get it away from me!"
"Ryuko was holding it yesterday. See, it even has a pink little... dress? I thinks it's a dress. It's wearing clothes and we both know you can't sew doll clothing so you wouldn't even be able to make this. I would pick up a needle to kill the thing, mom is afraid of mice, so we know Ryuko made it. And Ryuko hasn't broken out in hives or whatever that rat disease does. So... it's safe." That was her logic, ok...
"Why the hell do you have it?"
"Just a bit of... chaos. Mainly to make Ryuko worry. Other than that, I dunno. Probably gonna show it to mom in case Ryuko ends up being able to go. No one would want the prince or little bratty princess to get sick now would they?"
(Aaaaahh I hate life- and I get to be happy next chapter. School starts for me in a few weeks and I actually have to go to school so now I'm sad because I really don't wanna go until vaccines for Corona are safe and effective.
But like this was inspired by the episode of Avatar with June and her mole rat thing. Oh and... Moonshine smells good so :/.)
