Blades
(Y'all I might throw up this chapter-)
Chitose was going insane from her jealousy and anger. Ryuko had a heart of gold, everyone adored her, she was just perfect! Toshinori had been blessed with an angel, she had been cursed with a damn monster and a damn lunatic. (Jin baby, we love you.)
"Himiko! Come into the kitchen." Chitose shouted, pulling a knife from the wall. Her daughter walked into the kitchen and noticed what her mother held.
"What are you gonna do with that?" She asked. Her eyes lit up as she made a false realization. "Are we going to stab Ryuko?!"
"No you little monster! Sit down." She panted, handing the knife to her daughter. Her hair was frizzy, her eyes were dilated, everything about her said unhinged. "We both know you aren't Ryuko! You aren't going to fit that goddamn slipper. If I hadn't promised a friend I'd have you on the throne instead of her, I would've forced her to be queen!" Chitose growled. Her throat must've hurt. "Cut off your heel."
"What?! Ryuko was there? I thought she- what?!" Himiko shouted. "I- I why would I cut off my heel?"
"Because your mother told you to do so. There will be no need for your heel when you become queen. You'll have no reason to walk." Chitose lied, trying to convince her child to disfigure herself.
Himiko looked her mother in the eyes. Peridot colored eyes glaring down at honey colored eyes. It made her sweat. "I'll grab the bandages and the alcohol. Now, hurry it along." She barked. Himiko took a second. Her stomach turned. She didn't cry, she just thought she would throw up.
Himiko looked at her reflection in the knife. She stared for a good few minutes.
"You're really going to cut it off?"
"What?"
"I kind of wanna see it. You shouldn't do it though." Jin said.
"I can't stand the thought of Ryuko being our queen. You think I'll let her do that? Hell no!"
"I mean, you'd never have to see one another if she's queen." Jin said. He made a good point. Himiko would only be in it for the money, which she already had. But then again, she would be immortalized. She'd be a queen.
Jin saw the look in Himiko's eyes and looked away. The sound of the blade and air was followed by an awful scream. Only one scream.
Himiko looked at her foot and stopped screaming. As if the pain had just subsided and she was fascinated by the amounts of blood spilling out. She raised her leg up. She wanted to watch the blood drip.
Chitose returned with bandages and alcohol.

Shinya got sick of the riding. They had been to almost every house. They had one more house. It was two and there were no matches. Shinya was absolutely tired.
"This has to be the right one." Keigo reassured him. Shinya rolled his eyes. His friend was probably just trying to make him feel better. It was almost definitely a lie. The shoe never seemed to fit any damn woman in the kingdom. As if they didn't have the same shoe size.
"Yay."
Yotsubashi knocked on the door. He seemed disgusted by the house but greeted the young lady who owned it very kindly. She invited them in to see her daughter, a young lady with long blonde hair. Shinya knew it wasn't the girl he was interested in but they had to try every girl.
Shinya stood there, listening to the conversation. He noticed the girl's foot and just stared at it. He was even more disgusted by feet. It looked all gross. He would've said something but he just didn't want to.
She sat down on a small bench in the room. She didn't say anything, she just let Yotsbuashi put it on her.
"It fits!" The Grand Duke cried out. He would've been happy if he was stupid. The man looked desperate, which they all were, acted as if the girl was his daughter, and the girl's heel started bleeding almost immediately after she put it to the ground. The entire shoe became bloody only a second after it touched the ground.
Shinya almost gagged. The blood disgusted him. It was just... everywhere and visible, what kind of blister was that? It was a glass shoe and it fit but then she started breathing. Shinya held his breath. He felt that warm saliva and his stomach, it felt numb but obviously numb to the point he knew there was a problem.
"That does not fit- take it off please." Shinya begged.
The grand duke took it off and they noticed her foot. Keigo put his hand over Shinya's eyes. He was aware of Shinya's fear of feet.
Feet are disgusting.
"Are you alright?"
"Never better."
What on earth.
"Are you sure there is no other girl here?" Shinya asked. He looked around the house. There were pictures but they were old paintings of the girl, her brother, and an old palace worker.
"No. There's no other girl here." The brown skinned mother said. Shinya raised an eyebrow. There was a picture of another girl with light hair. It had been covered up but it was old. The girl looked about five and it was a politician, his wife, and the tiny girl. The politician had died multiple years back. The painting had been covered by a light black sheet.
"Are you sure?" Shinya asked. He was sure the girl in the portrait was older now. The painting was made thirteen years ago if the girl was five or six in it. The politician died twelve years ago.
"That child no longer lives here. I apologize." The woman with purple hair said. Her tone of voice was sad and it lead Shinya to believe the girl was dead as well. That's rough buddy. (0-0)
"Ah. I see."
Shinya stared at the blood as the Grand Duke cleaned it up. The mother just smiled as she talked with Yotsubashi. They must've been friends. The blood... it was all over the shoe. Shinya was still gagging.
"Um... it's time to go." Keigo said.
"Alright, give me a moment." The taller man said. Shinya and Keigo were the first one out. Shinya needed to leave, Keigo was just making sure he didn't faint.
(I'm living for Shinya having a foot phobia- I dunno why either-)

Ryuko knew the prince and his companions were there. She heard the door slam when they entered. She had continued to cry after Chitose left. She didn't know if she would come back and make her do something she didn't want to do.
Wait how would she curse Ryuko? It would take so long for her to even get near the princess. It wouldn't work.
Ryuko grumbled as she looked at her balled up hands. She was disgusted by her step mothers actions. She must've disfigured Himiko already. That was the scream she heard earlier.
"I... I deserve to be happy." Ryuko started murmuring. She was angry. She sounded like a child who had just gotten whipped and whispering the angry thoughts going through their mind. Instead of being angry, she was heartbroken and scared. Well, anger was obviously there but not really there. "I deserve to be happy." Ryuko repeated herself again.
Ryuko screamed and stood up. She looked herself in the mirror and noticed her puffy red eyes and tear stained eyes.
She was tired of it.
That night. That evening. Ten.
She was running away.
Fuck a few more years. She was leaving that night. If she didn't put the princess at risk because the damn maniac she had as a step mother was incompetent, she would be gone.
(Horse girl cinderella is a real thing)
