Story:

The doorbell rang and I opened the door. No one was there but I noticed a strange looking box on the step. I lifted the lid and grabbed it. A multicoloured stone dangled in a chain. Under where it rested was a folded note.

It read, "It is now time. Wear the necklace around your neck, then hold it as you say this words. "As a descendant of The Protector, it is now my time to fulfill my duty passed on by my ancestors. With the control of the amulent, I succumb to it's great power."

I looked quizzically at the it. The whole note was in Latin, and I had never studied that language, yet it seemed like it's words were translated before my eyes.

Despite the fear of the unknown, I did what it said. The stone was humming as I spoke. Colors became brighter, and heat was produced.

Suddenly at the last word, my spirit, my whole body was sucked into a portal, transporting me to another dimension.

And before I knew it I landed to the ground with pain aching all around me.

"We have been waiting for you, Danvers."

A man stood above me with his hand reached out. I looked side to side, figuring that I wasn't in the porch of my house.

And that was when my life turned upside down.
