Karma is a girl's best friend
As the moon slowly made its way into the sky a bird flew through the clouds. Until it was devoured by a larger bird made of ice.....
An Angel watched the ordeal happen. For some reason it bugged her even if it was a simple case of kill or be killed. On the ground as she peered down through the ice blue glass stained window. There were more creatures made out what seemed out of ice, what they all had in common were their glowing green eyes.
"If I were you, I'd get away from that window," a pompous voice spoke up. The Angel turned around and silently glared at the Harpy before sitting down at the table where three more other people sat.
One was filing her nails, she looked to be half spider. Another was a little girl with gray eyes who was petting a Manticore. There was an empty seat where another comrade was supposed to be, sadly he had met his demise. Next to that empty seat was a man with long dark hair sitting down with his arms crossed and eyes closed.
"You see that? Everyone here is minding their own business. Didn't you hear the phrase 'curiosity killed the cat?' Obviously not. No wonder you and the Demon child failed," the Harpy sneered which made the Angel growl.
"Strixi, please...the child has done more things than you have as a scavenger," the half spider girl replied. "Oh really? It's not like you to stick up for someone Kurochi. Is the black widow finally losing that venomous touch of--"
The large double doors creaked open causing everyone to stand up from their chairs. The figure entered the room with her dark cloak trailing behind her. Her steps were light and graceful giving the impression as she was floating. The only sounds from her were the various gold ornaments she wore as her golden headpiece glowed in the pale light.
The angel gulped as the figure walked by knowing that if she looked her directly in the eye she would be in trouble. The eerie, almost suffocating atmosphere remained when the figure stopped in front of the alter that was also in front of the table.
"Strixi," the figure spoke which got the Harpy's attention. The Angel couldn't help, but shiver at the cold commanding tone. She felt as if she would turn to ice.
"Do you find such joy in tormenting my young ones?" The figure spoke again as she turned around, revealing her features for the Angel to catch. The woman had hair was black as night and her skin reminded her of caramel. But the longer the Angel stared she noticed the woman's eyes had an uncanny resemblance to--
"I'm sorry, your grace. I'm not really a fan of kids, they're nothing but headaches and a waste of time," Strixi said as she sat down. The woman lowered her hand, signaling for the others to sit as she herself sat down on a chair made of ice, however it was black and it seemed unmelted like no heat could faze it.
"A waste of time you say? As far as I know Lucius did his part....although granted I wasn't pleased with his torturing methods. Regardless, he's killed Yami and Maelstrom, separated Maelstrom's powers, and most importantly.....killed Genesis. That last task wouldn't have been easy if not for our young Angel child right here..."
The Angel looked down as she felt the woman's icy gaze on her. "The main goal I assigned him was to exterminate the current Queens of this era that would become a nuisance. Granted we weren't able to slay Zia, but it was a possible outcome that could've happened. So, now we don't have to worry about her powers going anywhere. Especially, with the reset...which brings us back to our Angel friend..."
There it was again. That gaze back on her again.
"Tell me...have you set the memories I want for when the reset occurs?"
The angel kept her gaze down and nodded firmly. The woman seemed satisfied with the response and turned her gaze back to the Harpy. "So, explain to me, Strixi. What time was wasted?"
"What about Fauna?" The Angel asked timidly. "Ha! What about her? You're supposed to be watching her to make sure that she doesn't come to Summertown. It's not our fault you can't do your damn job--"
BAM!
The Angel had slammed her fist down onto the table to suppress her rage. Strixi smirked at the reaction, pleased that she was able to get under her skin.
"Enough."
The Angel and the Harpy instantly stopped at the command. It was just silent in the room.
"Lorelei,"
The little girl perked up at the mention of her name. "Platinum has the relic. I want you to find the guardian and kill them..."
Lorelei squealed in her chair, clapping her hands like some crazed fangirl.
"But not the Queens' friends. I want to wait before I collect both of them and then dispose of them. Their powers are more stronger when they're near each other," the woman replied with a small smile as Lorelei whined and slouched in her seat.
"Strixi, you are heading to Shirohana. Yuzumi continues to prove useful, make sure her mother, Yuna is in....good claws,"
The Harpy nodded as a cruel smile grew on her lips. "Kurochi, you will remain here and monitor everything through your spiders. If Fauna or Nebula is already aware of what's happening I want to be one step ahead of them,"
"Yes, my lady," Kurochi replied with a curt nod before standing up and leaving the room.
"Xiao Li, you are to meet with our informant in Long Island. Tell your sister, Xifeng I say...hello."
The male nodded as the woman turned to the Angel. "Lastly, my little Angel..."
The Angel felt a shiver down her spine when the woman said that. "You are to keep doing what you do best. Getting under that little pup's skin until she's pushed to the edge. There's a certain skill she will soon unlock and keep an eye on her. I want her as far away from that accursed Demon, sever the trust she has with him. I want her broken. Once you are done leave the rest to Aquarius. I never really thought much of using her, but she will serve well in disposing him in the next timeline. Can you manage that?"
The Angel nodded.
"That's a good girl...."

(A few days ago)
"Well, she has a journal full of secrets, an unrequited love for a Demon who has a harem--"
"Oh good gods, Prism..." the older She-Wolf replied as she facepalmed.
"The charm was broken, and she doesn't know basic Silver Magic spells. She couldn't even bring me a slice of cake that was five feet away from her,"
"So, she failed?..." The She-Wolf asked sadly. The Spirit Wolf sighed "My Queen....Prism is nowhere your skill level at her age. She's not fit nor emotionally stable to be your heiress...."
The She-Wolf had to blink back tears at the news. A brown haired Angel with green eyes placed a hand on her shoulder in a comforting manner.
"I'm sorry, Mrs. Lunaire..."
The Spirit Wolf watched them with a stoic gaze. She was contemplating on whether or not she should tell them. Fauna was already under enough stress, but the visions she had was not something to be ignored.
"My Queen...as I've said she's nowhere near your skill level..."
"She knows that! She isn't THAT old," the Angel snapped. "Prism isn't near her skill level, because.....she's far beyond it."
"What?!" Fauna and the Angel exclaimed at the same time. "In fact my visions showed me her future in two possible paths. Her choices and the friends she chooses will decide whether she will be remembered as a Queen of light or Darkness. Her heart is what makes her magic so strong..."
Fauna would be lying if she said she wasn't a bit relieved. However...
"In fact....as far as my previous knowledge. Her powers are steadily surpassing Soleil, Borealis, Maelstrom, Zia, and even Astra--
"The Queen of the Black Star....THAT Astra?! Didn't you say she was WORSE than what Zia is?!" The Angel asked Fauna.
The She-Wolf didn't answer she looked the photo of her daughter before Aquarius came along. Instead of seeing Prism she saw Astra's glowing orange eyes.

It all happened so fast yet, it was so confusing....
🌙 Nebula 🌙
My ears twitched as fireworks launched into the sky. The guests awed at the display, but I knew it was all a ruse. I know a gunshot when I hear one and I know Prism and her friends knew too.
Something was wrong....VERY wrong.
"M'lady is everything alright? You look troubled," Mist asked as her red brown eyes looked at me worriedly. Branwen nudged me and whimpered, she could sense what I was feeling.
"No, Mist..." I sighed as I petted Branwen to comfort her. "I think everyone here--including us are in danger. Someone set off the fireworks display to distract us. Mist, go investigate anything out of the ordinary, I have to go check on Prism,"
"Yes, ma'am," Mist replied as she quickly bowed before disappearing into the crowd. Branwen barked suddenly at a figure moving throughout the party and begun growling.
"Easy, girl. Leave them be for now..."
💎 Prism 💎
The smell of blood alerted my senses when the fireworks went off. While everyone was distracted I slipped away into the garden. The cool breeze of the night calmed my rattled nerves.
"THIS PARTY IS SO LIT!" I hear Tash's drunken stupor from inside making me sigh. I sat on a bench and looked out the garden, for some reason I just feel like something bad is going to happen.
*bark! Bark!*
I jumped when I felt something jump on my back. I smelled the scent of mint and picked up who I thought it was.
"Hi, Branwen. What're you doing so far away from Mist and your mother huh?" I asked as I held the pale green pup. Branwen barked as her mismatched eyes glowed with life.
"Oh, she found you," I turned around and set Branwen down as she ran back to Nebula. "Nebs, is something wrong? I feel like something bad is happening..." I said.
"For once I agree with you. However, the guests seem oblivious to it so, it's best to keep quiet about it in order to keep everyone calm,"
"Right..." I replied.
"Prism, be on guard. As a matter of now...everyone is a suspect until we figure out the source of what happened."
I watched Nebula go back inside, Branwen followed her before coming back to my side. I scratched her behind the ears before deciding to head back inside. As I stood on the steps I looked up at the moon....
Aquarius.... I hope you're okay...
Branwen started barking as I felt someone hug me suddenly. "Who the--*sniff sniff* Aunt Flora? Uncle Adrien?"
The Werewolf squealed as she hugged me tighter making me loose my breath. "OH MY GODS! You're so cute! I haven't seen you since...since...." Aunt Flora trailed off as she released me and gave me a sad smile.
"Well, you know...."
"Flora, try not to trigger the kid. You know what your sister said," Uncle Adrien said as his demon tail swayed behind him. "I know that! I'm just surprised to see her...here,"
"What's this party for anyway? I know it's Platinum's welcoming party but a lot of guests seem a lot more....bittersweet?" I asked. "Well..." Aunt Flora began as she looked away. "It's Aquarius' death day remember? The day she--"
"I get it. Please, don't remind me," I replied bitterly not wanting to think about him.
"R-right...."
"Prism, you know she didn't mean anything by it. Everyone is just worried about you," Uncle Adrien said as he placed a hand on my shoulder, only for me to yank it off. "Then don't."
"What?"
"THIS is why I left. I left because of all trouble I bring! No matter how hard I try I always lose someone. I'm better off just staying away from you all..."
"Prism you don't mean that--"
"Yes, I do!"
I turned away from them and began to walk away. My steps echoed on the stone floor, they were slow as if my ankles had weights tied to them to keep me from escaping.
"You have no idea how much pain I'm going through. Everyday I'm teetering between madness and normalcy. I put up a mask to my friends to hide my pain, because I don't want them to pity me. I can barely sleep without seeing Lucius' torturing me like two years ago. I hate him. I hate with with every ounce of my being. I want him dead!"
*********************
Flora stared at her niece in slight fear as a green aura surrounded her. Prism covered her face in her hands. Her sleeve rolled back a bit showing the black scars that began to glow from the negativity.
Her shoulders jumped as she chuckled, almost in a sadistic manner. "I....miss him."
"What?!"
"I was trapped for so long...everyday seemed like an eternity... I almost forgot what the sun was. He always asked me the same question...if I didn't answer or if I got it wrong I was punished. I was like a doll to him...now that he's gone all I want is to see him again and--and--see him suffer..."
Prism's hands shook as she continued, the aura growing darker every second. "I want him. I want to tear his heart out and paint him in his own blood, I screamed out for someone to free me only to hear him laughing. I swear...I swear that when I see him I will tear his heart out and I will take immense satisfaction in seeing him drown in his own blood!"
Prism began laughing, at first it was quiet then it grew louder and louder. She was nearly howling at the thought of such a scene, it excited her, it made her feel....free.
It felt....
Exhilarating.
******************
💎 Prism 💎
I stopped.
What am I doing? This isn't me....
"I....Aunt Flora....I'm so sorry!"
"No, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have brought it up...I just thought you would've gotten over it," Aunt Flora replied as she hugged me. "To be honest... I don't think I ever will, but it's made me stronger in a way,"
"WOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Aight guys, I gotta tell you guys a story..."
I sweatdropped. How long is Tash going to be drunk? I better head back in to make sure she doesn't come onto Kyo.
"Um...Aunt Flora. I have to get going, my friend is ummm...."
"Go ahead. Enjoy the rest of the party, I'm sorry for ruining it..."
Without a second glance I ran back inside. I don't know why, but I just feel so...apprehensive...
I continued walking amongst the guests. I didn't feel like talking to anyone even though it was a mix of humans and monsters. There in my thoughts I was brought back to reality when I realized I walked in front of a painting...
In memory to those lost in the tragedy of the Red Night and as well as the loss of the Alphas. As well as in tribute to Connor Lunaire who will forever be a wolf in spirit.
Oh, no wonder Platinum agreed to let her relatives host this party....today's the two going on three year anniversary since the Red Night. Her and my dad were like co-workers. Platinum gave the information, dad did the job.
Platinum didn't do the things dad did. Platinum's was....more illegal. She didn't play by anyone's rules, but her own. She wasn't someone to cross because of her influence and power. In fact...so is Tash's family....since--
"Hey,"
Angel. Male. Most likely related to Vivian with that angelic aura.
"Ramiel what do you want? I'm not in the mood to be tormented by your little cousin," I said in a snarky tone without looking his way. The angel chuckled lightly. He already knew I was like this with him and most of his family.
Ramiel and I met when I was five. He was an orphan when I met him back in my grandfather's village, Shirohana. He had no idea where he came from except he remembers running from something. Mom had convinced Vivian's family to adopt him, which angered me greatly since back then he was way too timid around other people. We rarely saw each other as we grew up, Vivian made sure of that. Wow.... This off topic, but I just realize I haven't done any of my old hobbies since I left France....depression is a bitch...
"I can't catch up with my cousin's greatest rival just to piss her off?"
I cracked a small smile as I rolled my eyes playfully. "I guess. You're the only other angel I know of back in Giverny who didn't treat me like a stray mutt,"
"You're not a dog. You're far different than one. For starters wolves can't bark and they're a lot more harder to tame than some random dog. Also, they act more on their instincts than a dog who relies on their master's orders. Lastly....and the best trait about you.....they're fiercely loyal to their friends and loved ones."
"Psh. You got that off of Wikipedia didn't you?" I replied back with a smirk. "No, merely observing you which I've noticed someone gained her powers--"
"You've been WATCHING me?" I growled in a quiet tone that way people wouldn't hear. Ramiel put his hands up in defense as he explained himself "look in my defense your mother asked me and you know it's basically suicide to piss her off back at home. She felt like something bad happened..."
"Well, I'm fine. I don't need a bodyguard," I replied. "I'm not saying you do, Prism. There's something big that's going to happen and it all depends on the choices YOU make?"
I gave him a look. "What is this? Fire Emblem Fates?"
Ramiel rolled his eyes "you think this is funny, but I'm serious. Why else would be telling you all this?"
"Because for all we know, mom could have a spy watching you, making sure you're not telling me certain things behind her back," I said in a matter of fact tone. Ramiel did a double take to check behind him, I guess I got him paranoid.
"Let's move on from this topic...so how's life?"
"A bitch," I replied making the Angel cringe. He always hated when I swore, I just liked trolling him that way. "Okay, how's school?" He asked me, I smiled innocently and replied; "a bitch,"
"Can you say anything else besides that word?"
"Nope!" I replied while popping the 'p'. Ramiel rolled his eyes which made me laugh, I enjoy teasing him WAY too much. "Honestly, I'm curious. Ivy and the girls don't tell me anything--"
"They shouldn't. Girl talk is girl talk, it's none of you guys' business. Respect Girl Code. We have a law like America's screwed up society,"
"Well, it's probably better," Ramiel replied as he leaned against the wall. "Hey, Rami?"
"Yes, Ms. Prizzle?"
"Go fuck yourself," I scoffed. "I would if I could, but that's why Adam and Eve were made. So, go tell that to the bible," Ramiel shot back with a smirk. I laughed and shoved him away.
"Shut up and go get me something to drink!"
"Okay," he laughed as he walked off. When he was gone, the brief happiness I felt while he was here disappeared and was replaced by the everlasting feeling I've grown used to.
**********************
Prism closed her eyes as she attempted blocked out the voices of several guests. She still a bit high strung about how she lost control earlier. Ramiel's presence bought a few moments of peace, but now that he's gone. She felt vulnerable as the voices around her seemed to suffocate her already fragile mind.
"I'm not surprised really. It was bound to happen..."
Prism's eyes shot open at the words. She felt her mind race and her patience beginning to thin as she tried to pick up on the owner of the voice.
"Vivian, that's not cool. Mr. Lunaire wasn't a good person, but he was family to us and to be honest everyone here has committed a crime at least once in their life," Ivy said. Vivian scoffed "humans try so hard to be something they're not. If you ask me it was a long time coming, he's a hunter and most them are humans. He's better off dead if he can't behave like the rest of his useless kind. If anything I say good riddance!"
"SHUT UP!"
The music died down in an awkward manner as various guests gasped and diverted their attention to the fuming She-Wolf. "You don't have a clue! NONE of you!"
"What are you talking about? Your dad was a murderer I've half a mind to thank the person who put him out of our lives," Vivian replied back venomously. Prism growled in feral way as her eyes turned a dark shade of green.
Nebula gasped as she noticed the change. She couldn't allow herself to get to close, if she did then she would be easily corrupted. She looked to see Flora and Ramiel with the same worried expressions. Someone had to stop Prism before she did something.
"You're such a brat you know that? Many people died that night and my father was only trying to atone for the crimes HIS family did! He killed his own dad just to be with my mom! How would YOU know ANYTHING about him?! You're no better than a Demon yourself you..you two faced--"
"Prism, that's enough." Adrien grabbed Prism's arm which some knew well enough not to touch.
"Let go of me," Prism demanded as she tried to pull away from her uncle's grip. "You need to calm down, you're embarrassing your family by being a child!"
Prism's eyes glowed and her fangs grew sharper. "I said let GO!"
Prism fell onto the floor from the momentum she used to pull herself away. The floor around began to light as a cold wind blew in the room. Prism held her arm in front of her as her hair blew wildly behind her. Light began to form in front of her and slowly took the form of a creature.
It materialized into a horse like creature with fish like features and sharp teeth with the mouth of a reptile. It looked like it was made of ice, but it was most definitely real as it snorted white smoke and pawed the floor.
The guests stared in fear and awe as the creature's malicious green eyes fell on Vivian who somewhat trembled in fear. Nebula's eyes lingered on the creature. One word was all she could say....
"Kelpie..."
The Kelpie reared and let out a neigh that sounded like a scream. The guests covered their ears as the sound resonated throughout the room. It then wasted no time galloping towards Vivian, who was frozen in fear.
"W-wait! I'm sorry! Just leave me alone!"
The Kelpie was nearly upon the Angel with its unhinged jaw opened until it was shot away by a magical blast of energy. Everyone turned to see a black haired Werecat wearing a silver studded black gown. Her silver eyes were void of emotion as her hand was held out where she had launched her fire spell.
"ARREST HER!"
Platinum looked down at Prism and helped her up. "What are you doing? She's a freak! She should be locked up!" Vivian yelled which made Prism flinch at her words.
"She's the only 'normal' one to me," Platinum replied after a quick moment of silence. "Give my regards and condolences to Fauna. I'll see you later,"
With that Platinum looked away as everyone tried to comprehend what had just happened. Prism looked up at her family and friends only to meet faces of anger, disappointment, and sadness.
*****************
(Angel: oohh...someone's in trouble...
Me: ssh!)
****************
Prism sat on the bed in one of the vacant rooms. Her uncle was lecturing her while Flora remained downstairs to clear up the incident. She could smell her friends outside, most likely listening in.
"I can't believe this. Really I can't,"
"I--"
"I'm not just talking about Vivian here! We're all used to you two going at each other's throats! But--You're starting to go too far! You just embarrassed us down there!" Adrien yelled cutting Prism off who lowered her head.
"It wasn't...I didn't mean..." Prism sighed as she tried to suppress the sobs that were dying to free itself.
"You shouldn't have left. Maybe you were better off staying at home, I don't understand why you ran away..."
Prism clenched her fist as she stood up to defend herself. "I ran away because it was MY choice! After everything that happened I couldn't bear to expose them to anymore danger than we already were in. I was trying to protect my family! A family that YOU married into because of a little fling you had with my aunt!"
*SMACK!*
Prism froze in shock as her hand shakily touched her cheek where she felt the stinging sensation. She didn't dare cry, if she broke down she would be digging herself a bigger hole than she already was in. She would be showing how weak she was.
Adrien sighed "this behavior may be something your mother tolerates, but...there's only so much one can take,"
"......"
"You are going to stay in this room for the remainder of the party. After that we will take into consideration of your treatment. You're not ready, not for this world, not for what destiny has for you,"
Adrien's footsteps echoed until he finally left the room. A click from door was sound, meaning he had locked her in.
Things couldn't get any worse....
********************
Vivian smiled sadistically as she sent a video to a certain Werewolf along with a smiley face emoji along with a text that said:
[ Like I said: No one wants a stray mutt :) ]
