Preface

Disclaimer: I do not own any of these characters, they belong to Disney and ABC, Adam Horowitz, and Edward Kitsis. I only own my OC, Iria, and the story. Anyways, hope you like it!

"No. No!" Maleficent shouts, tossing her chair in a rage, "This is not how it ends! It can't be!"

"We, the greatest villains of all time, will not be left to rot on some stupid island!" Jafar shrieks.

"What we need... are successors." Cruella hisses.

"Successors!" Ursula spits, "We, are all, magically unable to produce children."

"Now, now, ladies," The Evil Queen chuckles softly, "No need to get so riled up. I- as it so happens- have the perfect solution to our little problem."

"Oh, is that so, Grimhilde?" Cruella asks, "What exactly do you have that would be of any use to us?"

"Ah, I see you still haven't got out of that nasty habit of underestimating me, hm?" Grimhilde asks, slamming a book down on the table. She leans down, whispering urgently, "Rumpelstiltskin. The greatest sorcerer to ever live. The Dark One. He lives in a different dimension, in a place called the Enchanted Forest."

One awkward second of silence seems to stretch on for eternity, before all the villains burst into laughter, and shout their responses at once.

Captain Hook barks out a laugh, "Really, Grimhilde? A storybook?"

He then takes another swing of rum and immediately bursts into a long giggling fit.

Jafar laughs as well, "How do you expect this, Rumpelstiltskin, to help us? From another dimension?"

Maleficent hoots with laughter, "Oh, I knew it! One day, I knew you'd go off the deep end! Don't worry, dear, I can't blame you!"

Cruella cackles, "Oh, Grimhilde darling! You sound crazier than my furs in humidity!"

Finally, Ursula slams her hands on the table and bellows, "Enough!"

Everyone stops their clamoring and stares at the angry Cecaelia. Ursula individually glares at each of the other villains, finally declaring, "I have heard of this Rumpelstiltskin. I believe he can help us. If, of course, we had a way to get to him. My sister and I lost our powers to travel between realms a very long time ago-"

"Oh, please, not this story again!" Maleficent groans, "If your sister cared about our vengeance, or evil, she would be here!"

"Oh, like you're one to talk!" Cruella shouts, "How many times have we had to hear the same old story of 'Oh, I didn't get invited to a party!' Grow up! We have real problems now!"

Maleficent hisses, "You know that wasn't the whole story! They wronged me! They've wronged all of us! And now, they're going to make sure we can never have our revenge!"

"Will you all just shut up already!" Grimhilde shrieks, "I have a way to help us! If you would all just listen!"

The villains roll their eyes but decide to give the Evil Queen the floor.

"There is a spell in here to summon the Dark One. With all our combined powers, I think we can make it powerful enough to bring him to our world."

Grimhilde opens to the spell and pushes the book to the middle of the table.

"So... What do you think?"

Ursula is the first to stand up, "I'm in. This could be our last chance to bring down Auradon."

Maleficent sighs, "You truly think this is going to work?"

EQ nods, "Without a doubt."

"Then I suppose you can have a small offering of my unmeasurable magical powers," Maleficent says nonchalantly.

"As well as mine," Cruella says.

Jafar nods, "You have my help. But might I ask, why is this one here?"

He points to Captain Hook, the only villain there without magic.

"Ah," Grimhilde smiles, "You see, the captain here needs this just as much as we do. After this, dear Captain Hook will owe us-"

"Bullshit!" Ursula exclaims loudly, "Tell us why he's really here."

Grimhilde groans, "Why couldn't you have left it alone for once, Sea Witch? Listen, we don't need him. I simply thought it would be helpful to have more heirs!"

Ursula and Maleficent share a glance, skeptical that EQ wasn't hiding anything, but willing to set it aside if they could get what they wanted.

Maleficent sighs, "So... Ready to summon the Dark One?"

Ursula smirks, "Bring it on, Grimhilde."

EQ grins, "Time to get our revenge."

***

"So, dearies," Rumpelstiltskin chuckles, "You want me, to get you, children?"

"Heirs," Ursula replies, "To help us escape from an island prison."

Rumpelstiltskin laughs, a crazy smile stretching across his face, "Usually, I would make a deal in these situations. However, luckily for you, I have a couple of young ones that I need to dispose of. I would kill them, of course, but it's so much less messy this way."

Maleficent rolls her eyes, "Quit all this dallying around, and tell us if you're going to help us or not."

"Oh, tsk tsk tsk! Impatient, aren't we? Well, luckily for you, dearie, I will help you-" The villains smirk at each other victoriously, but the Dark One continues,

"-However, that is not to say that I won't expect a small favor in return. You shall have your heirs in... an hour or so." Rumpelstiltskin snaps and disappears in black smoke.

***

"Hello, little Uma," Rumpelstiltskin murmurs, picking up the baby, "You see, your mummy couldn't keep you. So, I'm going to give you a new one."

Uma cries as she is lifted away from her mother's sleeping figure.

"And, a little thing to forget all of this." He swipes his hand over Ursula.

He then snaps himself away in a puff of smoke. A few minutes later, Ursula shoots up in her bed, gasping, feeling a great sense of loss and panic, but not knowing what about. Eventually passing it off as a dream, she goes back to sleep.

"One down, six to go." Rumpelstiltskin giggles.

***

"Milah, Milah, it's ok." Hook tries to calm the dark-haired woman. She continues to cry, shaking her head,

"Something's going to happen. Something's going to happen to our little girl, I can feel it."

"No. No, Milah, it's going to be fine. You know why? I will protect our child with every-"

Hook's eyes suddenly fall closed, as well as Milah's. Rumpelstiltskin walks in and takes the now-crying Harriet, "You're quite a bit older than the others now, aren't you? Well, no matter. You'll be better able to protect yourself from your drunken father."

He giggles at the toddler's crying, then leans over Hook and says, "Too bad you won't remember this now, dearie. But, someday. Someday you will know what I did to you."

He swipes his hand over the sleeping couple, smiling as he carries away the baby.

***

Rumplestiltskin appears to the villains just a few minutes later, carrying two babies.

"One for you," He hands Uma to Ursula, and Harriet to Hook, "And one for you. Ursula, meet Uma. Captain, meet Harriet Hook."

The Dark One giggles, "And now you have your heirs. But, you, Captain, have two more that I need out of my world. You see, I cast a little spell. It will bring your next two brats to you when they can be... collected. They will, in essence, be erased from existence in my world, and be brought to you."

Captain Hook takes another swig of rum, before taking the two-year-old Harriet. As if sensing the danger in the room, the girl is practically silent before the villains, but can't help but let out a little squeak at being handed to Hook.

"Pretty baby better stop crying." The Captain murmurs, tracing the girl's face with his hook.

"Ok," Ursula takes Harriet with a tentacle, "Mine until you sober up."

Hook scowls, but then just takes another long drink.

"What about us?" Maleficent demands.

"Patience, patience. The rest of your little brats will be here soon." He snaps his fingers and disappears yet again.

"This Dark One is- how do I put this- oh, yes, unbearably obnoxious." Maleficent comments.

"Hush," Grimhilde responds, "If he gets us what we want, who cares how annoying he is? Besides, he's probably more powerful than all of us combined."

The villains scoff at the insult to their powers, but they don't attempt to deny EQ's claims. Everyone in the room sits in silence as they wait for the Dark One to return.

***

"Dearest Cora," Rumpelstiltskin greets, turning slowly, "I'm afraid you have pulled me away from a very important task."

"Well, apologies, Dark One, but this could not wait," Cora responds, "It is concerning my daughter."

"Regina?" He asks, "What about her?"

"She was with a child. With that stable boy. I sped up the process, erased her memory, and took the child to give to you. I am sure you can find somewhere for it."

"Oh! As it so happens, that child was exactly what I was looking for." Rumpelstiltskin states with a smile.

"Whatever would you need a child for, Dark One?" Cora asks.

"I don't need any child, Cora. I need your daughter's child. To ensure that she will not find a happy ending with..." Rumpelstiltskin trails off.

"Evie," Cora finishes, "Evelyn Danielle."

"Which will soon be Evelyn Grimhilde. I do hope that's not a problem?" The Dark One asks.

"Not at all," Cora responds, "As long as you take her."

"Where is little Evie, then?"

Cora snaps her fingers, and a baby girl with deep brown eyes appears in her arms. She hands the child to Rumpelstiltskin, who takes her. He nods to Cora, about to snap his fingers and exit, but Cora stops him, "Know this, Dark One. My daughter will be happy. She will have power, and wealth, and everything she could ever want. This child cannot give her that. I can."

Rumpelstiltskin smiles, then makes his exit. Cora raises her chin, straightens her skirts, then goes to check her reflection in the mirror.

"And even if Regina is not happy," She smiles wickedly to herself, "I will be."

***

David hacks through more branches, Snow following behind him. They had fallen into an easy pace, David swinging his sword to clear branches, and Snow following behind, keeping a close watch for danger. They will switch in a few minutes, but Prince Charming won't let his pregnant wife clear brush for that long, so her turn is much shorter than his. Snow stops short when she hears crying.

"Charming... What is that?" Snow asks, listening more closely.

"I don't know... It sounds like-" David stops short.

"We have to help." Snow cuts him off, taking the sword and slicing through the shrubbery, twice as fast as they were going before.

"Come on!" She beckons, and Charming runs after her.

Just a few minutes later, they come upon a road. They see a man with his cart run off the side of the road. He spots them and asks, "Would you mind? My cart's a little stuck here."

David shrugs and pushes the cart back onto the road.

"Thank you," He says, "I don't think I've seen you around these parts before. Where are you from?"

"We're from the Enchanted Forest." Charming answers.

"Oh! What's got you so far out in these parts?"

"We're on a quest," Snow answers quickly, "Now we must be on our way, there is a... There's something we have to deal with."

"Oh, well don't let me stop you. But... do not go on the path to the right. It leads straight into the lair of a dragon." The man warns.

"Thank you," Charming says.

"No no, thank you. Perhaps we shall meet again one day." The man begins walking in the opposite direction, pushing his cart along with him.

Snow and Charming head down the left trail, closer to the crying that they can now hear more clearly than before. When they finally reach the source of the cries, they see an egg.

"A... dragon egg?" Charming asks.

"No..." Snow answers, picking it up, "It's where the crying was coming from. This doesn't make any sense."

"Ok... How about this. We make camp here, and we keep watch on this thing." Charming suggests.

Snow nods and they begin to pitch a tent. Isaac Heller, the author, watches on with a grin as his carefully planned out story finally comes into play. Snow White and Prince Charming, raising Maleficent's daughter! What could be more poetic than that? He begins to take out his quill and ink to continue writing the story, but his good mood is absolutely ruined when the Dark One appears.

"Rumpelstiltskin?" Charming asks, " What are you doing here?"

"It just so happens, dearie," he chuckles, "That you will not be keeping that egg. You see, I have come to fetch it for a, hm, friend of mine."

"Well, you will not be getting it without a fight." Snow says, standing. Rumpelstiltskin simply snaps his fingers, and the egg is in his arms.

"No!" Snow cries out, reaching for her sword. However, she stops when the shell of the egg starts to crack. Rumpelstiltskin laughs, putting a finger to his lips,

"Shhh. You wouldn't want to disturb little Mal, would you?"

"Oh my God! Charming, it's a baby!" Snow exclaims as the shell cracks, and the crying can be heard much louder and more clearly now.

"That's right, dearie. And, with my deepest condolences, it's a child you cannot keep."

Snow charges the Dark One with her sword, only for it to pass right through the air.

***

Cruella laughs maniacally as she summons Rumpelstiltskin. When he finally shows up, a grin on his face, Cruella's crazy smile becomes her normal, sour expression.

"You," She growls, "Take him."

"Might I ask who him is, dearie?"

"My son," She spits out, taking the baby from his cradle, "Take him, and make sure that he has a better home than me."

Rumpelstiltskin takes the baby, again ignoring the loud crying, "I think I have just the place..."

"Perfect. And- his name is Carlos."

The Dark One grins, "Baby Carlos will have a good home, don't you worry, dearie."

He snaps, and a blank look appears over Cruella's face.

"Just a little precaution." He giggles, and snaps away yet again.

***

"Show me," Amara murmurs, "Show me what to do with this baby."

She looks behind her at her crying child and attempts to console him.

"Shh, shh. It'll be okay. I just need to get you out of here. He won't be a good father, and- and I won't be a good mother." She lets out a small sob, "I'm not a good mother."

"Oh, tsk tsk tsk. How... sad." Rumpelstiltskin coos.

"Dark One." Amara greets, standing up.

"Hello, dearie. I don't believe we've met."

"I'm Amara of Agrabah."

"Amara of Agrabah, hm? So, why is it that you summoned me here?"

"I need you to take him. Somewhere he can have a chance at a good life."

"Well, you're in luck, dearie. I have the perfect place for..."

"Jayden. Jayden Cyrus."

"Well then. I will take Jayden here to a different place, where perhaps he can live better than he would here."

"Thank you," Amara says weakly.

"Perhaps we will meet again one day, Amara."

"Wait! Just- let me say goodbye, first."

Amara walks up to her child, swallowing tears as best she can, "Goodbye, sweet one. Remember me fondly, if you can."

"How touching. Now, dearie, I will have to be on my way. I wish you luck in your search, Amara of Agrabah."

Amara simply stands there for quite a long time after the Dark One leaves, then finally takes the potion vial out of her pocket. She wipes the tears off her face, then swallows it's contents, placing it on a small side table. As her tears dry, so do her memories of her fourth son.

***

"Oh. Well, there's that second Hook child the Dark One warned us about," Maleficent comments while filing her nails, barely glancing at the crying baby on the table.

"Another one?" Hook asks, rubbing his temples.

"Still hungover?" Grimhilde asks dryly.

"I wouldn't be if you hadn't taken my rum!" Hook retorts.

Maleficent snaps her nail file in frustration, "She wouldn't have had to if you weren't a drunk, alcoholic asshole!"

"Alright, that's it!" Ursula announces, "I'm not waiting around here any longer for all of you to get your heirs. I have mine, and now I'm leaving this chaos you call a meeting."

She quickly leaves the room, slamming the door behind her.

***

When she returns to her lair, Ursula places the waking baby on the ground, only just now the burden of raising a child dawning on her. She had no idea how to be a mother! What does a land child even do? She couldn't teach her daughter magic on this supposed Isle. It's not like it would be useful, anyway. Ursula sighs. She needs to raise a child that will one day free them all from a horrible prison, without magic, and with the entire United States of Auradon working against her.

The only thing she could do, the Cecaelia eventually decides, is prepare her daughter. Make her work, teach her how unfair life is. So that she can fight it.

***

"Perhaps the Sea Witch has the right idea." Maleficent states.

"Oh, but then I would have come all this way for nothing," Rumpelstiltskin says. All the villains jump in surprise, except for Maleficent. The faery asks impatiently,

"Where is mine?"

"Oh! So greedy! Well, here you go, dearie." He snaps, and a child appears in each of the villain's arms, each with a name written on the blanket they have.

The villains look at the children closely, seeming almost confused by the children in their arms.

EQ inspects her baby, looking at her closely before eventually nodding in approval, "Hello, Evie. Yes, I suppose you'll do. You shall be the fairest of them all, my new daughter. I'll make sure of it."

Maleficent swiftly casts a spell to ensure her charge stays quiet, before greeting, "Hello, Mal."

"Carlos, huh? Well, I hope you can work." Cruella comments coldly.

"Well, Jay," Jafar states, "You better be useful."

"Oh! And how could I forget! The captain's son. Meet Harry." Rumpelstiltskin says.

Hook narrows his eyes at the small child, as if trying to decide what to do with him, and eventually just leaves him on the table.

"Well, now that my work here is done," the Dark One laughs, "You owe me."

"Owe you what, exactly?" Maleficent asks.

"Oh, dearie. You will know what I require of you soon enough. For now-" He opens a portal behind him, "Enjoy your children."
