Chapter 9 - The Master and His Slave
"I want to get something straight and clear before anything else," Daniel folded his arms and a slight grin crossed his face.
"What?" Kristina hopelessly sighed.
Daniel smirked and said, "Starting today, you're gonna call me 'master'. Disobey your master and you get punished. Wanna know what my punishment is too?"
Kristina could only groan from irritation. She nodded and replied, "I hate you so much, master."
"I'm glad we have mutual feelings for each other, slave," he replied.
The following morning, everybody kept staring at the both of them, wondering how things are going. P.E was over and they changed back to their usual clothes. Kristina walked like a zombie back to their classroom and sank in her seat. "Daaaaamn this day." She groaned.
"Tina," Ella sat on Kristina's desk. "Don't worry. I'll help you get through this. It's not like Daniel is a sadist or anything right? He was just joking when he said he'll punish you. What did you think he'll do? Whip you? Slap you? As if!"
"Ella, what's the point of cheering me up? Nothing's gonna change. Can't you see? I'm losing! To him! I can't stand it! And this is just too unreasonable! What the heck was Mr. Emerson thinking?! He's supposed to act like a teacher, not a kid!"
"Seems to me that you have a newfound weakness," Ella grinned.
"I wouldn't normally agree to this kind of stuff but since a teacher is involved with it, what could I do? I don't want to disobey a teacher!"
Ella sighed and held Kristina's shoulders. "Stop making excuses. Why do you hate Daniel so much?"
Kristina clenched her fist and gritted her teeth. "Gee, I wonder where I should start."
"Nonetheless," Ella folded her arms. "It's just for one day. Bear with it."
"Daaaaamn it." She hit her forehead on her solid desk.
Two good hours passed by, it was finally lunch break. Kristina was packing up her stuff when Daniel walked forward towards her. "What do you want?" She groaned.
"Buy me a milk shake," he said.
"Where am I supposed to get that?"
"At the cafeteria."
"Are you stupid? Do you think our old-fashioned cafeteria could provide you with such a drink?" Kristina zipped her bag and prepared to leave.
Daniel scratched his head and thought for a short while. "Alright. How about a burger then?"
Kristina replied, "The cafeteria does sell that but--"
"Good. Now buy it. If you disobey, punishment." Daniel said and left Kristina open-mouthed. When he finally left the room, Kristina pulled her hair and aggressively grabbed her bag. "What the hell was that?!"
"Endure," Ella patted her back. "I'll be waiting for you on the roof top."
So Kristina stomped her way into the cafeteria and found herself in the middle of a stampede. "Umf!" She uttered when somebody unknowingly elbowed her side. "Can't... breathe..." She stepped on her toes to find the section where they sell the burgers. It was so crowded that it took her a long time to get through. When she finally found the stall, she asked for a cheeseburger, waited five minutes for it to cook and took another long journey out of the crowded cafeteria. "Mission complete." She smiled and felt proud.
Kristina arrived at the rooftop where Daniel and Ella were talking. She walked up to Daniel and shoved the burger right in front of his face. "Here's your order, master."
Daniel gently took the paper bag from Kristina's hand, took a peek inside and threw it away.
"What the hell?!" Kristina exclaimed. "After I just--"
"It looks disgusting," Daniel said.
"What do you expect from cafeteria food?! To be just like McDonalds or something?!"
Daniel looked at Kristina and slowly blinked his doe-like eyes at her. "W-What are you staring at?"
"Nothing. Well, whatever. I'm already full anyway." Daniel made a bored sigh. "You can have your lunch now too."
Kristina groaned and held back her anger. When she was about to open her lunch box, the bell rang. Lunch break was over.
"You have got to be kidding me." She said.
With an empty stomach, Kristina walked back into her classroom and sank in her seat. Her stomach grumbled and she looked lifeless. "Damn that Daniel. I'll get him back for sure."
When class started, everybody stood silent in their seats. In the middle of the second period, Kristina noticed a note land on her desk. She looked at the direction where it flew from and saw Daniel, with his palm supporting his right cheek, staring at her without moving his head. "Read it," he mouthed.
Kristina opened the note and flinched at the content: "I forgot my comic books in my locker. Go and fetch it."
She scribbled on Daniel's note and threw it back at him. "Class is still in session. Comic books aren't allowed. And are you an idiot?"
Daniel then replied, "Are you questioning my orders? I shall punish you later then."
Kristina almost snapped. She replied, "Do whatever you want! As if you can hurt me."
"Then I'm gonna kiss you. A loooong and passionate kiss that'll make you pass out," Daniel wrote.
Reading that, Kristina quickly stood up and excused herself from class. "I forgot something from my locker. I'll be back immediately I promise!" Her voice was even shaking. The teacher gave his permission and Kristina stomped her way out, cursing Daniel. She dashed towards the hallways and went straight to her locker. She opened it and took a sweater. The sweater was for covering Daniel's comic books. Then she walked towards Daniel's locker, it was just five blocks away from hers. She took five thick comic books and quickly wrapped it with her sweater.
After completing the task, she immediately ran through the hallways again. As she was about to make a turn, she bumped into somebody, causing the comic books to fly and fall roughly on the ground. She fell along with the comic books. "O-Ouch... Uh. So sorry, I was in a hurry," Kristina caressed her butt.
"Are you alright?" An unfamiliar voice said. Kristina looked above and found a hand in front of her face. She looked at the boy's face. He was tall, had a perfect jaw-line, dashing hair and gorgeous eyes. But to Kristina, he was merely just another boy. "No thanks," she replied.
She took the comic books scattered on the ground one by one and slid them under her sweater. The boy took his hand back and squatted on the ground so his face would be at the same level as Kristina's. He took a comic book beside him and read the cover. "Cool. The first issue of Dark Magician. This is rare, where'd you buy this?"
Kristina snatched the comic book from his hands and replied, "This aren't mine. And who are you? Shouldn't you be heading to class?"
"Then to who do those belong too? I wonder if he'll lend me that."
"Get going already." Kristina folded her sweater and hugged it on her chest.
"Does it belong to your boyfriend?" The boy was persistent.
"No!" She screamed in defense. She cleared her throat and walked away. "It was nice meeting you. Now if you'll excuse me."
When Kristina was finally out of sight, the boy grinned and put his hands in his pockets. "The school pres huh? Interesting."
Back at the classroom, third period was already going on. Kristina silently ran to her chair and sighed out of relief. "What took you so long?" Daniel whispered.
"Shut up and take your stupid books! Make sure to return that sweater to me later," she threw the comic books wrapped in her sweater to Daniel's face.
After an hour, the bell finally rang. It was dismissal. While all of Kristina's classmates already left the classroom, she stayed behind to copy all the notes that she missed. She kept cursing Daniel when he suddenly appeared in front of her. "Move it. I can't see the blackboard," she groaned. Daniel put both of his hands on Kristina's desk and mischievously smiled. "I said move it," Kristina repeated. Daniel patted her head and said, "Good slave."
"The heck?!" she shouted, but her eyes and head was still focused on writing the notes.
"You obeyed your master's every command, although there were complaints. Therefore your master shall reward you," he said.
Kristina dropped her pen, looked up at Daniel's face and said, "Who would want your--"
Bam. Another unfinished sentence sealed with a kiss. It was just a small peck on the lips. "Four down," he smirked. "Ninety-six more to go." And then he left the classroom while Kristina was still petrified from the schock. "Aaaaw!" Ella exclaimed from behind. "That was so smooth!"
"Damn that bastard! He did it again!" Kristina turned red and slammed her face on her desk. "Daaaaamn him!!!"
"Oh, by the way Tina," Ella started. "He stops by your house every night right? The contract states that you must follow his orders until the end of the day. And that means--"
"The torture has still not ended! GAAAA!!!"
"Chill," Ella laughed. "Well, I'm off then. Good luck with the notes!" Ella ran outside.
Kristina gritted her teeth and said to herself, "Pray for your life, BASTARD. There's no way I'm coming home. Tomorrow will be your last."
Daniel, who was waiting outside of the classroom, silently laughed and said to himself, "As if. I hope you'll enjoy what I've prepared for you, slave."
