I Dare You To Pick The Black One

Hey! Before you throw imaginary rocks at me, I have a valid reason for not updating.. I had exams.

But, now they are over and the update is here :D :D

Enjoy!

~~~SHEHRYAAR's POV~~~
I kept my focus on the ladies' room's door, strongly hoping for someone single. Hussain kuch bhi kahe but, Shehryaar Asif never dates someone who is already taken. Jab Maine ek relationship Ko seriously Lena hi Nahi hai toh kisi aur bechare Ki life kyu kharab karu?
Moments later, a figure in red caught my attention as she stepped out of the washroom. She had a brown skin tone and her long straight hair cascaded down to her waist. I prepared myself but, before I could approach her, she turned around and went back inside. Seeing that, I dropped myself back on the bar stool. Great start!
I took a sip of my soft drink while another girl in black appeared. Her curls sat roughly under her shoulders and black complimented her skin tone very well. She looked nervous and lost to me as she kept fiddling with her fingers. After her, stepped out a girl in a purple dress. She had light brown hair with blonde streaks. Her fair skin tone made her look english but, I was not too sure. Then that same girl in red stepped out and after a moment or two of chatting, all three of them went their separate ways.
"Woah!" I heard Hussain whisper and I snapped back to the reality. Right, time to approach the girl.
"The red one it is," I smirked before putting my glass down. However, Hussain beat me to it, "choose any but her." He winked at me and walked away before I could ask him why. Not that I needed to- of course the lover boy is after her now.
Hussain and I are quite different. While I like it no strings attached, he gives his all in a relationship. The last time he got too serious, the girl left him for another guy and It took him ages to recover. Even though it didn't stop him from falling in love again, it became one reasons why I developed a phobia of relationships.
I shrugged away my thoughts and gulped down rest of the liquid in my glass.
"Fine. The purple one," I mouthed, only to let Waqas know. "What? No. The black one came out before her. The first girl to come out, remember?"
"Well the Red one came out first," I stared at him blankly, "how is it that you guys get to mend the rules and I don't?"
"Mere sher, black one it is," Waqas nodded, ignoring my question, and I groaned. "Kyu? Tujhe purple wali pasand aa gayi?"
Yeh hamaare group ka hopeless romantic. Jab se hosh sambhala hai sirf Ek hi larki ko pasand kiya hai. Jahaan isse shaadi ka intezaar hai- unn madam ki parhai hi khatam ho kar nahi de rahi.
Waqas wriggled his eyebrows and shyly laughed, "Saale Teri bhabhi toh Pehle se hi pasand kar li hai maine. Bas uske haan ka intezaar hai."
I shook my head and smiled to myself. As soon as I gave him my back, I heard him chuckle and I mentally face palmed myself.
The black one looks too innocent for all this. I bet she has a boyfriend too and how can she not? After all she is probably the most beautiful girl present tonight. I just hope she isn't a saas-bahu serial type girl. Break up ke baad, no rona dhona, please.
Pehle larki toh pata le.
I went closer and sat next to her stool. Keeping my iPhone on the table, I looked up at her. I noticed she had a drink in front of her but, it was still untouched. Great. Now I can't even ask her if I can buy her a drink or not.
She pushed her brown curls away from her face and batted her eyelids at her phone, with the corner of her lips twitching upwards. A smile made its way to my lips, seeing someone so carefree at a place like this, but, it quickly vanished when her head snapped in my direction.
"Are you checking me out?" She questioned, amused.
"Are you a library book?" I asked back and she frowned. "Is that supposed to be a joke?"
"Uhh yes," I said sheepishly. Man why did that just slip out of my mouth?
She blinked at me twice before breaking into fits of laughter, "as in, 'I don't have a library card, but do you mind if I check you out,'?"
Oh so she isn't that naive after all. She understands basic pick up lines. Good.
I was just processing her laugh when she suddenly brought her hand forward. "Haya Khan," she smiled.
I looked at her hand and smiled internally. That was quick. This girl definitely won't be a challenge and she definitely not what she looks on the outside. Aren't innocent girls supposed to be nervous to start off with? Don't they expect a guy to make the first move in like everything?
Well.
"Shehryaar Asif," I smiled back, and lifted my hand to meet her's.
For some reason, her eyes widened as she choked out, "tum ho woh?!"
~~~HAYA's POV~~~

"Tum ho woh?!" I blurted without thinking twice. Any normal person would bite their tongue and stop themselves but, I am not normal, you see?

With this word vomit habit of mine, especially when I am nervous, I continued, "tum main aisa kya hai jo media aur larkiya pagal hai tumhaare peeche? Mujhe toh kuch special Nahi dikhta."

Shehryaar raised an eyebrow and chuckled. I noticed the twinkle in his brown eyes when he threw his head back, laughing lightly.

Focus Haya.

Don't go into details because as per the media and his ex girlfriends, this guy is supposed to be a jerk.

And his good looks are the culprit.

"Well how about you figure that out yourself?" He asked, grinning and I glared at him.

"Are you hitting on me?" I quickly retorted and he smirked. "Maybe?"

This guy is actually hitting on me.

Damn.

Yup, a total jerk.

~~~HUMERA's POV~~~
"One cranberry juice please and double the ice," I placed my order and sat on the stool.
The temperature of this room was suddenly rising as my mind kept going back to Haya. I just hope she doesn't end up in a mess or else I won't be able to forgive myself for that. It's all because of me- this stupid article crap.
"One for me too- same one as this beauty in red," I heard someone place their order right next to me, "I am Sorry, but you owe me this drink, Miss."
Is that supposed to be for me?
My head snapped to look at the cutest pair of smiling eyes, staring back at me. "Why?" I asked confused as the guy settled himself down, next to my stool.
"Because when I looked at you, I dropped mine," he said casually and I just blankly glared at him. It took me a while to process that this guy was flirting with me.
Damn he is cute!
No Humera, I mentally scolded myself, boys are liars and they dangerous. At least, this is what I was told through out my child hood.
"By the way, Hussain Asif," he introduced himself and scratched the back of his head, "I was here with my friends but, you know how couples can be, right? So I am stuck here like a third wheeler."
It's cute how a small crinkle formed right in the middle of his eyebrows while he tried to defend his not so funny (but cute) pick up line.
He pointed at a couple sitting at the far corner and I rolled my eyes. Yup, boys are, after all, liars.
"Uhm, that girl in black is actually my best friend." I told him and he closed his eyes, probably embarrassed or thinking about his next move.
Poor guy.
~~~HAYA's POV~~~

"So, it was great meeting you Shehryaar," I smiled politely as I got off my stool to walk away. It's already past midnight and it's not safe being out here at this hour. I should've been home by now.

"Haya," his voice stopped me and I closed my eyes. Good boy! Now ask me for my number.

"Yeah?" I questioned as I turned around. He ran a hand through his hair and looked away.

"Hum phir kab milenge?" He asked, blinking at me.

Dude! You were supposed to ask for my number. I am sure he is not like what media portrays him as. Isn't he supposed to be like the flirt type and ask for my number already? He is supposed to make fast moves and not smile shyly.

However, I mentally face palmed myself and smiled at him politely, "Agar kismat ne chaha toh bohot jald."

**

"Stop sounding so dramatic Alisha!" I stated as I plopped on the couch and turned on the TV.

"He didn't stop you so even you didn't ask for his number?" She gapped at me and I rolled my eyes, "dude! You need him more than he needs you. Remember?"

"Haan toh koi aur dhoond lenge," I sighed, rubbing my temple, "waise bhi bohot dheela tha woh."

I got up and stepped away from Alisha, "itni dayr main toh tera break up ho jata hai jitni dayr main usne mujhse ek drink poochi thi."

I heard a gasp and a cushion followed shortly after. It's smacked me on my head and I caught the other one that came in my way.

Close miss! Phew.

However, before we could continue our cushion fight, Humera barged in the lounge, staring at her phone. "Can someone tell me exactly why Haya is calling me?" She showed me her phone, which flashed my name.

How is this possible?

Actually I know exactly how.

~~~SHEHRYAAR's POV~~~
"H-" I almost said 'hi' when a female voice rudely interrupted.
"You blimin thief! You stole my phone!" She yelled as I removed the phone from my ear and pressed the loud speaker button. Hussain walked around the couch and came in our open kitchen- where I was standing.
"List-"
"You listen to me! I'll sue you- I'll get you arrested and I'll drag you to the court!" she continued while I stared at Hussain in disbelief. This number belonged to the girl he met last night. After hours of going through random girly things on this phone, we finally found it and here she is. The girl he claimed was cute, is actually bursting my ear drums right now.
"Haya calm down!" I heard someone else say from the other end of the line and Hussain smirked. He whispered lowly, "peeche wali meri hai."
I rolled my eyes and took a deep breath, "Haya it's me. Shehryaar."
Haya stopped blabbering instantly and gave me a short, "oh."
I couldn't help but chuckle at this girl's cuteness.
"You left your phone at the club last night so I was thinking if I could drop by and give it back to you?" I asked, sort of shrugging to sound casual- even though she couldn't see me through the phone.
"Ok let's meet up somewhere in the middle?" She asked after a long pause. I face palmed myself and ran a hand through my hair. This girl just doesn't want to take things one step ahead.
"Ok yeah sure! That will be cool. Text me where you want me to meet you," I said instead and after saying 'ok,' she disconnected the call.
Before I could throw the phone on the bench top again, Hussain snatched it out of my hand. "Number," he mouthed and punched a few digits in his phone.
Meri pata Nahi but, ek mahine main iski engagement toh pakki hai. Isse itne waqt baad jo pasand aayi bhi toh woh jisne isse bhav tak nahi diya. Haya bhi toh aisi hi hai. Pehli baar koi mili hai jisse mujh main kuch khaas nahi dikha.
Playing hard to get, are we? Aaj toh tum hein ghar main hi drop karunga, Miss Haya Khan.
And that's a Shehryaar Promise!
~~~HAYA's POV~~~

"You are a bitch!" Alisha whacked my arm and I laughed devilishly. Even she realised that I plotted my phone there last night. It's one thing I can't live without and I spent over ten hours with out it. Now it better worth it.

Mr Shehryaar Asif khud toh number maangne wale the nahi- par hamein kisi tarhaan toh dubara milna hi tha na. Dare hai bhai- ab article likhungi toh Shehryaar Asif ke naam ka hi likhungi. Let's see how Mr Flirt is going to get through this? The guy who has only seen the fun side of relationships so far, Will now actually see how much worse it can get with a girl who wants to stick to you like chewing gum.

"But, what happens when he is finally in a relationship with you?" Humera asked, taking off the towel that was wrapped around her wet hair.

I smirked as I turned to look at her, "I'll follow Alisha's foot steps."

"Care to elaborate?" Alisha was the one to say this. She yawned and I chuckled.

"Time aane do- sab bataungi."

~~~HUSSAIN's POV~~~
"But, dude. How are we going to do all this in a month?" I asked Shehry as he explained his plan to me, "she seems a lot different from other girls. what if she friend zones you?"
"No girl has ever done that unless I want her to," Shehry boasted and I rolled my eyes, "and about her falling in love with me- it's fairly simple."
He reached for the fridge and pulled out a carton of juice while I grabbed the glasses.
"First step; attention. Girls love attention. They love it when you take care of them and check on them every now and then. Text them. Wish them good morning, exectra excectra," he said casually as he came and sat on the dining table, "They think it's a way of showing how much we love them or care of them."
I nodded and he stopped talking. "And?" I insisted. Shehry looked at me and chuckled.
"Waqt aane de. Puri picture dikhaunga!"
