I Dare You To .......

Ummmmm.......... /•\

It's 4am and I just finished typing it and I didn't read over it. Because if I wait to proofread it, I probably won't end up uploading it for another few weeks 😂😭😩 so ignore the typos.... I might not end up editing it ever 😅😂

RECAP: Haya almost confesses to Shehry about the article but, Hussain interrupts. Hussain asks Humera to be his date and she agrees; he decides to tell his parents as soon as they visit for the party. Shehry asks Haya to be his date for the party and she agrees. She tells Diya she won't write the article and resigns.

HAYA's POV

"You have lost it Haya, we can't afford you being fired, don't you get it?" Humera yelled at me, frustrated, but there was so much more that she couldn't see. I am happy with my decision.

"I wasn't fired. I quit," I told her calmly and she rubbed her temple, clearly not satisfied with my reply.

"Diya is still ready to take you back, let's go talk to her," she insisted and grabbed my arm in an attempt to drag me out of the house. I yanked my arm out of her grip and stepped away.

"No means no Humera! I am not going there again. I am not writing that article!" I snapped at her and she slapped the door behind her.

"Do you realise we took a loan from her to buy this house! She would want one third of it back instantly! How are we going to arrange that Haya?" She asked me and ran a hand through her hair, "for once, think about us too! She would kick us all out because we don't have the money!"

I looked between her and Alisha. I didn't even realise that. "I'll do anything. I'll arrange the money. But yeh article mujhse Nahi hoga."

"Kyu nahi hoga?" she yelled at me, frustrated.

"Because I can't leave Shehry!" I yelled back at her and sighed, trying to calm myself, "pehli baar koi mila hai baba Ke baad jisse meri fikar hai. Who doesn't just ask questions to keep the conversation going but, he understands me. I can't let him go, Humera. Not anymore."

"Haya—"

"Humera please," Alisha interrupted her, "we can think about the money later, kaheen Se bhi arrange Kar lenge yaar, it isn't much anyway."

"Whatever, jo Dil main aaye karo," Humera groaned, shaking her head and walked away..

~*~*~FRIDAY~*~*~

"Silver is going to match, right?" I asked Alisha as I pinned my diamond hangings against my ear, "I am not wearing a necklace so it should be eye catching, yeah?"

"I think it looks fab!" She grinned at me in the mirror's reflection.

"Fine, I am wearing these then." I carefully kept the delicate earring on the dressing table, all set for the grand evening.

"Humera kya pehen rahi hai?" I asked Alisha and she shrugged. "She won't tell. I think she is confused but won't ask for help."

"You always pick the accessories for us, go check on her, no?"

"Naraz hai, khud Nahi jaayegi," she shook her head at me, "jaa rahi hoon Aur Bol dungi tune bheja hai Mujhe."

I chuckled as she stood up from the bed and walked towards the door. She stopped and turned to look at me, "coffee bana de please?"

"Abhi layi," I told her and she disappeared around the corner.

Pulling out my phone, I flicked a text to Shehry.

Me: Is your Fam here? x

He replied instantly.

Shehry: Nope, almost.

Me: excited to meet everyone again. ❤️

Just a love heart? I wondered. I wanted to write more; after a long debate in my head, I quickly sent another text before my mind could force me to change my decision again.

Me: I love you ❤️

Gosh, is this too clingy?

As I waited for his reply, I stared down at his name and thought of changing it. Going in contacts I selected the edit option and changed the name to 'Shehry Berry BooBoo ❤️.' I giggled, remembering how much he hates it when I call him that. Though He never complained but the look on his face and his tone gave it away so easily every time. I thought cheesy nicknames were a way to drive a guy away from you. But it really worked the other way around for me.

"Haya coffee!" Alisha screamed from outside, snapping me out of my thoughts. I plugged my phone in for charging before heading out again.

HUSSAIN's POV

Humera: I really can't decide.

Me: Kuch bhi pehen Lo, you will look stunning in anything. 😘

Humera: Soch Lo, night suit pehen Kar aa jaaungi.

Me: I don't mind, I know you will slay like always 😉

Humera: kisi kaam Ke Nahi ho. -_-

I chuckled, reading her reply. But just when I was going to reply, someone called my name and I quickly turned the screen off. Looking out in the distance, I spotted dad and Rabail bhabhi coming our way.

"Oye hoye, smile toh dekho," I nudged Waqas, who was here at the airport with me.

"Shut up," he hissed at me in a whisper and I chuckled.

"Dad!" I ran up to him and hugged him. He laughed lightly as he hugged me back before stepping away.

"Asalam Alaikum Bhabhi Ji," I spoke, addressing Rabail. She gave me a shy smile before glancing up at Waqas, who was slowly walking towards us.

"Where is mama?" I frowned, not finding her. Dad sighed and shook his head, "Maha ka koi test hai monday ko, so she had to stay back."

"What? Monday! Ek raat ki toh baat thi, aa jaateen," I whined, looking behind him again, "Tell me the truth, you guys are playing a prank on me, right?"

"I am telling you the truth. Chaho toh call kar ke dekh lo, " He shook his head again and I sighed.

Ab mera kya hoga? Humera se kaise milwaunga unse?

"I think we should get going then," Waqas spoke and I nodded in agreement. I dropped him and Rabail at his place and then drove dad home, where Shehry was waiting for us.

"Where is mama?" was the first ting he asked and his face somewhat lit up when I told him she couldn't make it.

Once I showed dad his room, I joined Shehry in the kitchen. He was busy cooking so I chose to jump on the kitchen counter. "You look happy," I commented and picked up an apple.

He shrugged. "Maybe I am."

"You didn't mom to be here?" I frowned, surprised.

"I didn't want her to see me with Haya," He said, "But wanted her to be here for the party. It is a big thing for us."

"Haya isn't that bad you know," I spoke.

He glanced at me for a second before puffing some air out of his mouth, "How many times are we going to discuss this?"

"Why do you keep denying Shehry? She is different and worth a shot," I tried throwing the same words at him that I have been for the past few days.

"And why do you keep ignoring Hussain?" He rephrased my comment, making me scowl at him, "Larkiyaan sab ek jaisi hoti hein and Haya is too."

"Really? Tu toh aise bol raha hai jaise pata ni kite saalo se research kar raha ho unn par," I rolled my eyes at him and he chuckled.

"Aur tu aise bol raha hai jaise bade saalo se jaanta ho Haya ko."

I groaned because he wasn't taking me seriously.

"Sach bata yaar, shehry," I asked, "You won't feel bad if you broke her heart?"

"Nope," He casually replied, popping the 'p'. I released a frustrated sigh.

"Aur agar who royegi toh tujhe zara sa bhi dard nahi hoga?"

"Larkiyon Ka birth right hai rona. Roti hai toh roye, mujhe kya," He muttered. A frown appeared on his forehead as he tried concentrating on the food more.

"And what if-"

"Hussain, seriously just shut up. Mujhe aur bhi bohot kaam hai," He huffed, cutting me off and turned off the stove before walking out on me.

Yeah, sure! Tu aur tere kaam.

SHEHRY's POV

"Whats your take on being cheated on Shehry?"

A voice sobbed in my ears as I splashed cold water on my face.

"The relationship was nothing but a drama?"

Feeling claustrophobic, I opened my eyes in an attempt to get rid of that uninvited voice, and came face to face with my reflection in the mirror. Water dripped down my face as I took deep breaths, staring at my own red eyes.

"That love was all about money!"

"I don't care, you heard me? I don't care," I told my reflection in the mirror. I felt like it was smirking back at me.

"Aur agar woh royegi toh tujhe zara sa bhi dard nahi hoga?"

Hussain's words rang in my ears, haunting me. I turned on the tap again to supress the voice. As much as I hated to admit, those words were something I had been asking myself for the past few nights.

When I asked her to be my girlfriend, I could see in her glistened eyes how much it meant for her. It's her first relationship and it won't turn out like it should have. Uska dil toot jayega.

Meri Wajah se.

"Kya farak parta hai, She will move on," I shook my head and took a deep breath before grabbing the tube of gel.

"Toh tum mera dil aise hi tod doge?" Some asked from behind me and my eyes widened at the reflection in the mirror, "You know I am going to cry for day!"

Haya huffed, stomping her foot on the floor and I instantly turned around, only to find no one there.

Kahan gayi? I ran a hand through my hair, stressed, and threw the tube away, not in the mood of getting ready anymore. Walking out of the washroom, I grabbed my coat and left the room.

"Hussain? Dad? Lets go!" I called out for them and grabbed my wallet and wrist watch from the side table. Dad came out of his room and smiled at me while buttoning his hand cuffs. I smiled back at him and looked away, feeling uneasy.

"Yeh kya haal banaya hua hai?" He asked me as he approached me, "At least comb your hair."

"Nahi main theek hoon, I'll fix them in the car," I told him and walked up to the key holder, by the main door.

"I am here!" Hussain announced as he came running out of his room and grinned at us, "Waqas said he will be there in time and aren't we going to get the girl in the limo?"

We planned to hire a limo in which we were going to pick up Haya and Humera.

"Car bhijwa di hai, they will come," I told him as he looked up at me, "we are late."

" Yeah but, At least one of us can go," he frowned at me, "Tu chal, main unhe—"

"Doodh peeti bacchii nahi hein woh, aur na hi car main bethna itna mushkil kaam hai, they will manage!" I snapped at him for being so annoying and walked out without waiting for his reply.

Haya Khan, bas aaj ki raat, fir tumhaari shakal bhi nahi dekhunga.

HAYA's POV

"Oh My Gawd! Just look at you!" Alisha screamed in excitement, hurting my ear. She walked around me in a circle, staring at me like I was an alien.

"What happened? This dress is too tacky right? I so knew it," I whined, disappointedly, as I looked down at myself, "Let me go put on something simp--"

"You look good!" I heard a voice coming from behind me and Alisha smiled at me. I turned around and blinked a few times to make sure the person was really there.

"You think I look good?" I asked Humera to confirm and she nodded at me. This is the first time we were actually 'talking' since that day.

"You look so pretty," She smiled at me and I smiled back. "Par tujhse zyada nahi."

"Chal jhoothi!" She chuckled softly and shook her head.

"I need a hug," I told her in a desperate whisper, and she gave me a wide smile. That's all I needed to hug my best friend.

"How mean!" Alisha huffed behind us, forcing us to pull away, "I was the one going back and forth, getting you two ready! Kisi Ko padi hi Nahi hai Meri!"

She folded her arms and scowled at us as Humera chuckled, stepping away from me.

"Aa jaa," Humera and I stretched our arms out for her and she ran into us for a group hug.

"Tum dono jab ek doosre se baat nahi karte toh kuch accha nahi lagta," She mumbled over my shoulder and I smiled but it flattened as soon as I saw the clock.

"Late ho raha hai," I told them, pulling away.

"Hussain told me they are coming, aate hi honge," Humera said and I nodded at her as I pulled out my own Phone. Just when I was about to text Shehry, I realised he didn't even reply to my other message.

Baar baar message karungi toh chipku type lagega na?

"Humera, call Hussain and ask. The even started already," I asked her and she walked away to get her phone.

But why didn't Shehry reply?

"Just look at this!" Alisha plopped down on the couch with her phone, and I rolled my eyes, realising she was on Instagram like always.

"I hate to say this, but that Kutti Looks hawt in the outfit I picked for her!" She sighed dramatically, making me frown. Kutti meant Diya but, why did Alisha pick her outfit?

I unlocked my phone and opened Diya's account, only to find her image in a pretty cool yellow dress. It was plain but the style itself made it unique.

"Remember she asked me to work on her outfit two weeks ago? This is the look I put together for her, amazing right?" Alisha squealed in excitement, "She said if people love her look tonight, she will make my stylist column permanent and that means at least fifteen per cent rise!"

"That's cool," I shrugged, frowning to myself. Diya aur pay increase? Woh toh agar koi marr raha ho toh bhi thokkar maar ke chale jaane walon main se hai.

"Hussain said—" Humera came out of her room but my phone rang, cutting her off. It flashed an unknown number and I sighed, not wanting to answer.

"I guess the car is here," Humera spoke, making me look up at her, "Hussain said they sent a car for us. It must be their call."

The call ended and soon after, I received a text notification from a new number.

"Yeah I guess it's our cab," I sighed, feeling low all of a sudden.

Now that Shehry wasn't coming to pick me, The excitement was gone.
