my hand held his, knuckles white as contractions and cramps relieved to a sudden emptiness, only to be filled with the small cries of a baby. his grip on me released, only slightly, before he began planting kisses across my tense knuckles.

our baby's eyes were almond shaped brown like mine, his nose mirroring myeons.

tears sprung to junmyeons eyes as he was washed clean, wrapped in a blanket, and handed to me.

but i didn't take him. "give him to junmyeon first." the nurse, almost surprised, passed the baby to junmyeon, a look of pure awe on his face.

"look at you," he whispered, with the slightest waver of his voice. "you're so beautiful. you look like your mother!" he smiled. "your mom is so strong. i fell in love with the right woman, and you're lucky to have her as your mom."

"myeon, that's so kind of you." he leaned over, planting the softest kiss on my lips, thanking me profusely for the child we brought into this world together.

his eyes were glossy with tears of joy, his lips moving but no sound leaving them as he kissed our child's hands.

a nurse approached us, asking us what we'd like to name him, and i looked to junmyeon, simply because i knew he'd picked a name out for our boy.

"adonis."

the name clicked instantly; greek god of beauty and desire, and i was both surprised and not, at the fact that he decided to name him something so delicate.

i was proud, because i knew with a name like that, my baby would only grow up with the best upbringing, the best roots.

and as junmyeon looked to me, wet marks raced down my cheeks at how utrerly in awe he seemed.
