patch
for days after that fight, i laid in bed and stared at the ceiling, chiding myself over how stupid i was. i fell in love with him, how could i have not noticed that he was such a closed minded asshole?
my phone went off. i made my first mistake; not checking the caller id. i made my second mistake; i picked up, thinking it was yixing.
"what, yixing."
i heard a shallow breath from the other side. shit.
"yixing?" he repeated, and my throat closed up from his voice. i waited, unmoving. "i wanted to talk over what happened the other day. can we do this now, or should we meet-"
"you have thirty seconds." i said flatly, stopping my voice from breaking.
"what?"
"thirty. twenty nine-"
"okay, okay. listen flora, i was overreacting. i was awful to you and i was getting jealous for no reason. i think i needed this wake up call, and i am very sorry that i treated you like this. just-god, are we over?"
i smiled gently through my tears. "no."
"no?" i could hear his heavy breathing.
"no, we're not over, goddamnit. it's okay, i'm glad you realized what went wrong. do you know the hell i went through this past week, junmyeon?" my voice cracked. "i missed you so damn much."
"i-" he choked. "i missed you too. i'm so sorry. but hey, wanna hear a joke? i know how to lift this mood in a jiffy."
i groaned, a small smile gracing my pink lips through my tears. "yeah, what?"
"a turkey sandwich walks into a bar and asks for a beer."
i furrowed my eyebrows in awkward confusion. "okay...?"
"the bartender says, 'sorry we don't serve food here.'" he laughed at his own joke, even though i could hear him sniffling.
"dear god, junmyeon. just get your ass over here with some pizza, i think we have some patching up to do."
"they don't serve food-"
"JUNMYEON!"
