Once In A Blue Moon (Part 1)
"Have you heard? They said that there used to be a fae living in this forest" the young girl whispered to her friend.
"What? Aren't faes not real?" her friend asked.
She shrugged. "I don't know either. That's just what I heard" the girl answered.
"Faes are real, young girl"
The two girls got shocked when they suddenly heard a voice speak to them. They looked around and saw an old man leaning on a tree.
"It is also true that there used to be a fae living here" said the old man.
"What? Used to? Does that mean she isn't living here anymore?" one of the girls asked.
"I'm not sure either. One day, the fae suddenly disappeared" the man sadly said.
"Do you know her?"
The old man smiled and nodded. "Yes, I know her"
The two girls didn't seem to believe him. "What I mean is, I grew up listening to stories about the fae."
The two girls nodded. "Ohh"
"Do you want me to tell you one?" the old man offered.
"Sure" the two girls answered. They sat down and eagerly listened to the story of the old man.
~
Once upon a time, there was a fae living in the forest of Hudnia. Her name was Lysithea. She had blonde hair and ash gray eyes. She was very beautiful and her hair was so long that it reached her feet.
Every year, when the moon is blue, she shows herself. She is seen singing and crying in the Lake of Memories.
One day, a wounded man saw her. His wound was deep and he was dying. He fainted on the other side of the lake. The fae pitied him so she took care of him and healed him.
When morning came the man woke up. "Where am I?" He confusedly asked and immediately got up when he realized that his wound was healed.
"Oh, you're already awake?" The fae asked while sweetly smiling and happily playing with the birds and butterflies.
"W-who are you?! Where am I?!" The man asked, afraid.
"Don't be afraid. We're still here in the Lake of Memories. I'm Lysithea, I'm a fae. You? What's your name?" the fae asks.
"R-rave" the man introduced himself.
The fae paused before nodding and smiling. "Its nice to meet you, Rave"
《ONE YEAR LATER》
~In the Lake of Memories~
"What are you doing there?" asked the fae when she noticed that Rave was sitting on the branch of a tree. She didn't expect to see the man again, but he waited for her.
"I waited for you" he said before jumping of the tree. He went near the fae. "Why are you crying?" he asked while wiping her tears.
"O-oh... its nothing, I just remembered something" the fae answered and looked at the lake. The eyes of the fae was filled with sadness and longing.
Rave was watched her. "She's so beautiful..." he said in is mind.
"You wont ask what memory it is?" Lysithea asked while still looking at the lake.
Rave shook his head.
"Why? Do you not want to know?" She is facing backwards from Rave and is looking at the lake. She played with the water with her feet.
"I want to, But it doesn't seem like you're ready to say it"
She nodded. "Yes, you're right, I'm not yet ready to tell you it. But, someday, I want to tell you that story" She turned around and smiled at Rave.
《THREE YEARS LATER》
It was already night and the moon was blue once again. There are many fireflies and you can hear the sound of the water. There was a man sitting beside the lake, looking at the wonderful place.
The fae walked closer and sighed when she saw the man. In the three years they knew each other, the man always waited for her. Every night, even when it rained, he was here, sitting beside the lake, waiting for the fae to return.
The fae told him several times not to wait for her becasue it takes a long time for her to return, but, he never listened. He already fell for the beautiful fae. He doesn't know why, but he immediately fell for her. It was as if he was meant to love her.
Even if he had to wait forever, its fine. Even if it rains, he'll wait for the fae. Why? Because he loves her. Its as if he could do anything for her. That is, everything except confessing because he knows that if he does, the fae will grow apart from him. He thinks that this is better. That whatever they have now is better that nothing.
"You waited for me again" the fae said as if she was complaining even though she was happy to see the man. "I already told you, didn't I? Don't wait for me anymore"
"Its fine. I know that you'll always come back" he said while smiling and watching Lysithea sit down.
"Aren't you wondering why I only show myself when the moon is blue and why do I only appear here in the lake?" she asked Rave.
"Of course I'm curious but I'll just wait until you tell me"
"Do you want me to tell you now?" Lysithea asked while looking straight into his eyes. Rave didn't answer. She turned her gaze to the lake and tried to remember what happened that day... the day she lost the person she loved the most... the most painful day of her life.
"It was like this back then as well" Rave looked at Lysithea when she spoke. "The moon was blue, there where many fireflies in the place, the lake looked exactly like this. I was with the man I love. I was so happy back then. He surprised me and brought me here. My father saw it. My father thought that I was kidnapped. He killed him... I cried and cried but my father didn't listen... it was as if he wasn't in his right mind... when he died that was when my father went back to reality. I got very mad at him then and until now I still haven't fully forgiven him. That's the reason why this was named Lake of Memories because this was my last memory of him."
Rave wiped Lysithea's tears and hugged her. Lysithea still kept crying. "Every year, whenever the moon is blue, I come back here to cry. Many years have passed since that happened. Then I met you. Starting when I met you, I no longer cried here. You changed my painful memories into happy ones. That's why I'm thankful to you... Ravern"
Rave didn't notice that Lysithea called him a different name. The only thing in his mind was to make her stop crying and to make her happy again.
