🦇 Please take into account that my title "Once Hungry, Twice Bitten," doesn't fully emerge until halfway through my book. The meaning will be apparent to the storyline once one has read further as it's part of the plot.

Once hungry - relates to a vampire dealing with bloodlust.

Twice bitten - relates to a human being bitten twice because the vampire is trying to satisfy their needs.

The true meaning relates to the plot in other ways.

My title was inspired by the popular expression "once bitten, twice shy," meaning when someone has had something bad happen to them, they think twice about doing the same mistake. Obviously, a vampire has no moral understanding and will likely do it anyway.

🦇 I'm British, so I use the British spelling of words because I want to stay consistent throughout my book. Please be considerate of the variations that you may find.

🦇 I've tried my best researching about AML and chemotherapy. For the purpose of my plot, Erika is staying within the hospital facility throughout chemo with periods of rest, in which she can go home.
