I had been living in this town for about three months that now, Ruby, Emma, and Jay were my best friends here.

Jay was hired about a week after me, so the schedule was filled up. Jay is awesome, he's the gay best friend I've never had but always wanted.

Emma was just the normal, go shopping and watch chick flicks with, type of best friend.

But Ruby.. I was for sure closest to her, she knew pretty much everything there was to know about me.

Ruby and I were currently sprawled out on my couch, watching a Walking Dead marathon.

Everything was normal until Ruby turned the TV down. She sat up and turned to me, I copied her movments.

"Would it be crazy if I asked you out?" She asked suddenly. I stared at her stunned.

"N-no, um, when?" I asked. "Tonight at seven." Ruby explained. I smiled at her answer. "Should I dress up?" I asked.

Ruby shook her head. "No, maybe wear a bathing suit under your cloths though." She said with that beautiful accent of hers.

"Okay." I said. Ruby smiled and stood up. "I'll see you then." She said. She then did something unexpected.

Ruby gently grabbed the back of my neck and pressed her soft lips to my forehead. I felt heat rush to my face as soon as her skin came in contact with mine.

She pulled away and smiled at me before leaving.

I instantly got up and started rummaging through my cloths. I didn't know what the fuck to wear. I laid out all my swimsuits, i could decide if I wanted to wear a one piece or a two peice, and I didn't know if I should try to wear a sexy one.

I eventually picked one out.

Now all I had to do was find something to wear over it.

I threw my cloths around, Ruby said not to dress up, but this was a date, and she was hot as fuck. Ugh, focus!

I finally decided on an outfit, and by that time it was about 5:57.

I watched the rest of The Walking Dead marathon while I waited for Ruby. At seven sharp I heard a ping from my phone and a honk outside.

I smiled from ear to ear as I ran to the door. I locked it behind me and hopped into the passenger seat.

"Hey." I said as I buckled my seat belt.

"Hey, you ready?" Ruby asked as she started her car.

"Totally, where are we going?" I asked. Ruby glanced at me before she started driving, a smirk on her lips.

"It's s surprise." She said mischievously.

I felt a flutter in my stomach as the words left her lips. It had to be somewhere with water, why else would I be wearing my bathing suit.

We finally arrived at our destination, it was a pretty saculded part of a beach we had gone to a few times.

"This should be fun, no swimming." I said as I got out of the car, closing the door.

"I hope you brought some food and drinks." I said to Ruby.

"Oh I've got that covered." She replied as she pulled a cooler out of the backseat. "Help?" She asked giggling slightly.

I grabbed the opposite end of the cooler and we started walking.

He would a nice spot, right in front of the setting sun. Ruby laid down a blanket and took her shirt off.

It was hard not to stare, but I got myself under control as I stripped down to my bathing suit.

"Let's go." Ruby said before running straight into the water. I laughed as I followed her.

When I deemed it deep enough I dived right in, enjoying the cool water against my skin.

Once I surfaced I saw Ruby getting her shirt hair wet. I smiled and swam over to her.

"You just gonna stand here, or are you gonna go out deeper with me?" I asked raising an eyebrow at the end of the sentence. Ruby smiled and started swimming out. I followed her until we were up to my shoulders and the top of her clevage, considering she was a few inches taller than me.

"You said you've been with girls before. How many?" Ruby asked me.

"Well I've dated four, and hooked up with three." I told her. Ruby nodded slightly. "Impressive." She said.

I smiled slightly. "Are you usually more dominant or submissive?" Ruby asked.

I blushed slightly, she had never really asked these kind of questions before.

"It depends on the person." I replied,looking down at the water, which at the moment looked like liquid silver.

"What about you?" I asked glancing back at her.

"Dominant, for sure." She said moving slightly closer to me. I don't know why but I blushed even more.

"Come on, let's swim around." I said before quickly disappearing under the water.

I heard a muffled splash as Ruby followed. As soon as we surfaced I splashed her. It soon turned into an all out splash war.

I squealed and try to swim away as Ruby charged for me.

Ruby tackled me and we both fell and water. I started laughing when we surfaced, pushing my wet hair out of my face.

After a few hours of swimming around and splashing each other, we went and sat down on the blanket.

I cried myself off best as I could before putting my cloths back on.

I opened the cooler and saw at least on of everything from coke to a bottle of rum.

I chuckled and grabbed a strawberry flavored beer. I sat down on the blanket as I opened it. I took a small sip before setting it down in the sand.

"Do you know how to braid hair?" I asked Ruby as she sat down next to me.

"Ya, do you have a hair tie?" She asked, holding her hand out.

I reached into my jeans pocket and pulled one out, setting it in the palms of her hand.

I turned around so my back was facing her. I took a drink of my beer as Ruby started gently combing through my hair with her fingers. If I were a cat, I would have been purring.

I loved it when people played with my hair, and Ruby certainly was not expecttion. I took her about a minute to braid my shoulder length blonde hair.

"Kay I'm done." Ruby said as she tied the hair tie to the end. "Thanks." I said smiling.

I felt her hands slide around me waist as she pulled me to lean against her.

Damn, I was in heaven.

"You hungry?" Ruby asked after a short period of comfortable silence.

"Ya." I said while nodding.

Ruby reached behind her and pulled out a bag full of fruit. My mouth instantly started water.

"Awesome, thank you." I said as I took the bag from her.

"No problem, Lyric." She said, taking a drink of her beer.

I opened the bag and started munching on some strawberries.

I smiled, I never wanted to leave this spot.

The sun had set a while ago, it was just us in the dark now. The sky was reflecting off of the water perfectly.

"Beautiful." I whispered.

"Just like you." Ruby mumbled back. I felt heat rise to my face.

She called me beautiful..

"And you." I said, putting a hand over one of her's. I didn't have to see her to know she was smiling.

After about another half hour of enjoying each other's company we decided to head home.

We packed everything up and carried it to the car. I got into the passenger seat and got comfortable, not bothering to put my seatbelt on.

We soon arrived at my house. I sat up in my seat getting ready to go.

Before I got out I turned to Ruby. "That was fun." I said quitly. She nodded in agreement.

"We should do it again." She replied. I smiled and nodded.

"Definitely." I said barley above a whisper. My eyes went to Ruby's lips when I noticed her leaning in closer.

She finally broke the distance and pressed her lips softly to mine.

I gladly kissed back. I felt her hand gently grab my neck, just before we pulled away.

"I'll see you tomorrow." I said as I got out, unable to while the smile off of my face.

Ruby was smiling too.

"See you tomorrow." She said before rolling her window up and driving away.

I was barley able to whipe the smile off of my face all night.

I don't know what just started, but I like it.
