Chapter 30: Up on Cloud Nine

"Well, hello there" Hobi greeted you supporting himself on his elbow as he leaned on the doorframe of his en-suite bathroom. His hand in a fist holding his head up as he admired you.

It seemed like you had woken up long ago enough that you had changed into loungewear. You were wearing fleece pants and a long-sleeved oversized top tucked into them.

You looked up to meet his mischevious gaze, he was naked except for the towel hanging low on his hips. Looking at his toned torso, your heart skipped a few beats. He was so incredibly handsome.

"Morning, Hobi. Looking flawless while I look like I got in a fight with a brush" you commented letting down your hair and trying to tie it into a bun instead of a ponytail. It was not salvageable.

He shook his head with a little side-smile and walked up to you. Dropped his towel at the foot of the bed where you were laying propped up on one elbow, just to provoke you, and turned around to grab underwear and sweatpants to put on.

Skipping the t-shirt, he turned back and crawled up to you on the bed, smirk still on his lips, one eyebrow arched cockily. He was such a tease and you blushed against your nature like only he managed to make you.

"Aein, can I let you in on a secret?" he murmured now staring into your eyes hovering over you, one hand cupping your cheek.

"I don't like fancy dresses and heels*, I've never thought you looked hotter than right now all comfortable on my bed" he grinned, eyes soft looking from underneath his eyelashes, full of sweetness and adoration.

Hoseok leaned in to meet your lips, he'd been dying to feel their warmth again, their unique taste, bite into their fullness. He hadn't got to kiss you last night, but he had admittedly loved your cuddly side.

You laid back on the bed and he carefully laid part of his weight on you as he followed your lips. One hand sliding down your thigh and holding onto it firmly, another on the side of your neck, thumb brushing your skin caringly.

His mouth moved down your jaw and onto your neck and he peppered you with soft kisses all over. He hummed happily as he enjoyed the feeling of your body.

"Mmph, Hobi" you mewled against his lips as your propped up your knee in between his legs and he smiled to himself when you softly kneed him on accident.

"Happy to see me?" you teased him and he chuckled as he pulled away just enough.

"Elated" he answered without a doubt in a sexy low tone, lips forming a smirk.

You buried your fingers in his hair and he melted at your touch. He was heavy, but it was bearable if he was gonna look this cute.

In the blink of an eye his sensual act was gone. He growled pleased as you massaged his scalp and nuzzled your chest to make himself comfortable.

His face was adorned with two little dimples, wide content smile, arms holding onto your sides lovingly, lashes brushing his cheeks as his eyelids remained closed.

"How do you know all my weaknesses?" he mumbled after a while of you scratching his head.

You chuckled at his comment and kissed the crown of his head, he was facing down so you could work on both sides of his head now.

Hobi felt like he was on cloud nine, he went from miserable last night to happiest as can be this morning. He wanted all his mornings to start like this.

"Should we have breakfast?" you asked him and he groaned. He was hungry, but also too far gone with the pleasure offered by your magic touch.

"I'm not the greatest cook, I don't cook a lot for obvious reasons. But I hope what I made the other day wasn't underwhelming. I wanted to feed you something hearty" you explained yourself feeling self-conscious.

"It was tasty and homey, it was perfect" his comment was muffled and riddled with his jeolla*¹ accent now that he let his guards down, but you heard him clearly.

You were happy he liked it even if it wasn't fancy or gourmet. You couldn't pull off anything too complex without instructions and enough practice.

"Gwanju?" you guessed from the satoori he used.

"Aye, captain!" he answered lazily nodding against you.

"You said you are from Busan?" he asked remembering your accent when you were on the phone back in England and you confirmed it.

"My old roommate is from Busan, why are you all so shamelessly flirty?" he questioned and you laughed.

"Jungkook?" you asked curiously knowing only about him.

"Him too, but no, Jimin used to share a room with me at the dorms" he sounded sleepy now. He had relaxed all over, from head to toe.

"Oh! I'll have to ask him about it, that's nice" this time Hobi didn't say anything.

"You are going to fall asleep, baby. Let's go make some food"

"And if we stay like this?" he asked feeling way too good to get moving.

"You'll crush me to death" you joked and he rolled on his back next to you apologizing sheepishly.

"Don't worry, I wasn't serious" you cooed and pecked his lips as you sat up on the bed and slid to the side to get off.

After taking a deep breath to gather some strength, he got up, put a tee over his head and walked to the kitchen after you.

Between the two, you made a delicious breakfast. It was nice not to do it all alone, that you were there to help each other and didn't have to do everything individually.

"I want to take you out on a date while we have time with one another" Hobi said knowing your schedules would get in the way soon enough. He had to make the most out of your precious time and he was glad it was still Sunday.

"Oh, going all out courting me?" he looked up at you amused but your reaction made him wonder why a date sounded so fancy. Did no one take the time to woo you?

"Gotta sweep my lady off her feet, you see" he said with a little wink and a playful smile. He was so damn smooth, your face was burning again.

"I didn't think you were bashful, that comes as a surprise" Hobi saw you blush a lot this weekend and with how open and unapologetic you were, it was a curious little detail.

"I'm not! It's you" you didn't beat around the bush and he felt overly confident with this new information.

"Ah, do you want me to make your heart race fast?*²" he teased you with a little laugh and you looked down with tinted cheeks.

"Hobi, stop" you whined and he cooed.

"It's hard when you act so cute" he giggled before taking another sip of his coffee.

Later in the afternoon, you found yourselves on a stroll along Banpo Bridge*³. Hobi held your hand as you looked at the stalls full of handmade items.

There were people all around, but for once he was not concerned about being seen. The awkwardness of knowing you were going out with the purpose of getting to know someone in search of something purely romantic wasn't there.

You were good friends hanging out, enjoying yourselves, but now your feelings for each other had changed. There was something else, but you were both still companions.

The guilt of being seen and his actions being misinterpreted wasn't there either. As if people would have known before that his motives were less than innocent.

It felt risky to go about this so naturally, he could already feel eyes on him even if he tried to keep a low profile. Yet he didn't want to hide, he didn't want to keep you to himself. You glowed when you felt free.

"Look at these, should we get matching ones?" you said picking a bracelet up and showing it to him.

"Like couples' bracelets?" Hobi asked curiously with a fond smile. He liked the idea, an accessory that could be worn at all times.

"Yes, when we are away from each other, we can still be connected in a way" you nodded looking up in his eyes hopefully. Hoseok felt like home, you'd never had one after they kicked you out of yours.

"What design should we get?" leaning over your shoulder, he looked at the options.

There were the typical heart halves with magnets, the locks with keys and the handcuffs. He wanted something more original than that, more unique.

"How about this?" he held up a thin silver chain with two interlocked rings and a small crystal.

"That looks pretty" you took it and asked the lady for permission to try it on.

When you got the okay, you held out your wrist for Hoseok to put it on and you both looked at it.

"Would it suit you?" admittedly you'd never paid close attention to his hands, but when he held his wrist up for you, you realized just how elegant they were.

Long, slender fingers, thin wrists and somewhat veiny backs. For the first time you also noticed the soft colored polish on his nails.

"Your hands are so pretty, I actually think the thin chain would suit you rather than the thicker one"

There was a more feminine option and a more masculine one that was chunkier. But neither of you cared despite the lady pointing out what the pair was supposed to be.

"You are right, I like that they are the exact same design too" he nodded once you clipped his on and he held his hand up to check it out.

He took your hand in his once again and after paying, you decided to look around at the food offered by street vendors to grab some dinner.

It was starting to get chilly, but he had brought a mat to sit down by the river and enjoy the rainbow fountain once the sun set.

Settling on odeng and tteokbokki*⁴, you walked around the river bank looking for the perfect spot and laid everything out.

Hobi wrapped his arm around you and covered you with half of a blanket he had thrown over his shoulders. You huddled together and ate your food while it was hot.

You realized it had been forever since you had gone on a proper date, where the other person's intentions weren't anything but spending time with you.

It felt familiar but at the same time extraordinary. The scariest part though, was that it also felt temporary. These things never lasted even though you wished they would.

Not only because of how busy you were, but because relationships in general just didn't work out. These moments were few and precious and it never felt like you appreciated them enough.

"Hobi" you called softly and he looked down at you laying on his shoulder, arms hugging his waist close.

"Thank you for all of this, I haven't done anything like it in a long time" it almost felt 'normal' and you couldn't say you knew what that was like at this point.

"Me neither" he murmured looking at the colorful water show in front of you.

"What kind of dates did you go on?" you suddenly wondered since he said he only went out with other women looking to connect with them.

"Usually out to bars or restaurants, to talk and get to know each other better. Nothing too exciting"

"Good thing we did all the talking in hotels all around the world. What an odd pair we are" you joked with a little laugh and he giggled.

"I like different, it keeps things fun and interesting. But not everyone seems to be into that, they want all the fine dining and the expensive experiences since I can afford them"

It felt more materialistic, when it was all new maybe he did want that too, but as he grew older he came to realize what truly mattered.

"I can afford quite a few things myself, but this feels more intimate. It might be nothing special to some, but you really miss it when you don't have the time for it" you shared your thoughts with your eyes fixed on the fountain, but you both reflected on the kinds of things you wanted.

"Aein" he met your eyes once more and held your gaze for a moment. Then kissed your lips softly, holding your chin in between his index and thumb shortly after so you'd let him in.

"There's so many people around us, shouldn't we be more careful?" you questioned him as he got carried away, circling an arm around your waist and pulling you even closer.

He giggled and pulled the blanket on your shoulders over your head, then continued to kiss you in between little laughs.

It was dark, you weren't doing anything wrong and he was just so happy to be here with you. He really didn't care, he wasn't anxious for a change.

"Thank you" he whispered when he pulled back and as he fixed the blanket. You looked up at him.

"For which part, exactly?" you played with him and he chuckled.

"For trying together with me" he took your hand in his and squeezed it before resting them on his leg. One wrist over the other, bracelets clinking at the contact.

Hobi's hands are indeed beautiful and his nails and accesories are so him. I love them. Never fangirled over body parts until BTS, I feel weird.

"I like the feminine look of long hair over a dress. However, I hate high heels! In particular, a look that isn't too flashy, with something like a sporty feeling. Nike Jordans shoes and leggings isn't too bad!"
