Chapter four: Manipulated and Eractictaded

What's up! Thanks for reading this story! I'm trying to write a chapter every day or every two days. It's vacation so i've got a lot of time to write. And I want this story finished before the vacation is over, since I won't be able to write during school times. Ugh, the things school can take from you. Anyway, let's continue with the story. I'll try to put some Jisbon fluff in this chapter. Enjoy reading!

"Tell him he should keep HIS friends out of this mess too then" Answered Jane audacious after a short silence. "He was expecting you might say something like that. Don't worry, I'll get rid of them for you." Spoke the nurse, pointing her gun at Van Pelt. Then she pulled the trigger.

'BANG' The short, loud carving sound of the discharge of the floating small projectile fulfilled the room. Van Pelt couldn't react fast enough to the nurse's fast movement and was surprised by the bullet which was already penetrating her body. The bullet went right through the skin of her shoulder, making her scream out of pain. The bullet exit her body on the other side and made its way through the concrete wall, leaving a small cavity with various cracks around it. Van Pelt let out a strong, deaf-making scream which made the whole team jump, leaving them to watch the red-haired woman whimper out in pain. Van Pelt wrapped her fingers around her shoulder and pushed pressure on the wound. The wound was bleeding measureless and Van Pelt's orange draped circle top was soaked with blood already. Rigsby was in shock after the nurse shot his precious, lovely girlfriend. The bullet had probably hit the scapula bone. The nurse had shot with an. 45 caliber gun which was probably loaded with  9mm FMJ bullets. If an FMJ bullet encounters bone, there is a significant possibility that it will break the bone instantly. If it is a long bone like a humerus, or if the bullet's punched through a flat bone like the ribs, scapula or either the skull , there's also a significant possibility that bone will deflect the bullet off of its original path. FMJ rounds are meant to wound, not really to kill instantly. The military uses FMJ rounds to wound the enemy in order to take 3 or 4 people out of the fight instead of just killing that one individual. Hollowpoints are designed to expand as they pass through a target, but it didn't count for Van Pelt. Wayne Rigsby luckily knew a lot about guns, bullets and the consequences of a shot wound like this. Unfortunately, he couldn't help Van Pelt as the nurse was threatening Jane next.

The nurse laughed disreputable, pointing the gun against Jane's forehead. The cold metal against his pale skin made him shiver a bit, but he didn't show any fright. His breathing accelerated and the nurse was staring into his blue eyes. "Red John only wants you in the game. It's like chess, only two players are allowed. Don't you agree? Otherwise i'll have to shoot your friends again, which I don't mind at all." She played a little with the trigger, smirking inhumane which made Jane utter a nervous, anxious shaking sigh. He followed her fingers. Her slender fingers pressed softly against the trigger, but she pushed too soft to make the gun shoot a bullet through Jane's brains. They were still looking at eachother until the sound of a loud 'bang' howled through the hospital room.

Lisbon tried to untie herself. The ropes around her wrists were cutting in her skin, causing a aggravated stabbing  pain that gushed from her wrist to her arms. She groaned and tried again.

The sound of soft, agonized footsteps stopped her from what she was doing. Her body froze and she was realizing the footsteps were slowly getting closer to her. Lisbon didn't dare to move a flinch. The footsteps were gone now, and she knew someone was close behind her. The warm breath of the person behind her rushed along her cheek, which probably meant his face was very close to hers. "Hello Teresa. Missed me?" The scary voice echoed through her head, as if the voice was trying to kill her from the inside. She held her breath and looked at the bloody smiley. The blood had dried already which made the smiley looking more frightening than before. "It's art, isn't it? I drew it with my friend's blood." Spoke Red John. He was still standing behind her, which made her shiver. "Who's your.. friend?" She asked finally, trying to take a peek of the serial killer, but failed. "You know him." Red John walked in a circle around her, stopping in front of her and staring into her eyes. The brunette shivered as she saw the gruesome red masked killer in front of her, staring at her. It was frightening. "Is it.. Jane?" She asked, already knowing the answer. Red John let out a brief laugh, patting her on her nose. "Yes. He was so loveable to give me some of his blood. You didn't get any of that, because you were knocked out during the process." Annotated Red John. He walked over to the smiley, looking proudly at the disgusting 'art' he had made. "Ruby, bring him in." He said, still looking at the smiley. A door next to the fearsome smiley opened and a very strong bright light entered the room. Lisbon's eyes started to hurt as she tried to look what was happening over there. She started to get a headache and closed her eyes until the light had disappeared. She heard the sound of footsteps, and the person who was there must've been dragging someone inside of the room. Lisbon opened her eyes after a couple of minutes and noticed the light had disappeared. Everything was dark again. The only things she saw were the softly glowing light bulb with the smiley next to it. But she saw something else, there was a chair with a person sitting on it, right underneath the smiley. She couldn't see it quite because the person was sitting in the shadow's. The light bulb only illuminated the smiley. She tried to move the chair by moving with her body. It wasn't such a good idea because the chair fell down on the aspect and Lisbon was still tied up against it. Great, now she was laying on the ground, completely helpless. She looked at the person, but couldn't see any movement. Lisbon let out a disappointed sigh. She was exhausted and the frightening events made her feel tired wherefore she couldn't keep her eyes opened. Before she even realized it, she had drifted off to sleep.

Van Pelt woke up but couldn't really see a thing. Her vision was still blurry, but she tried to sit up straight. Where was she? Where were Rigsby, Cho, Jane and Lisbon?  Van Pelt scratched on her head, taking a glance of the inside of the room. The room was very bright, the most common reason because the walls were stained white. Van Pelt hated hospitals. The rooms were decorated in colors designed to be restful but come off as skin to a decorators choices for a funeral home. Private baths that couldn't conceal its functionality. On the lumpy bed laying sterile white sheets with a pale blue blanket which wasn't warm at all. No matter how she was lying, she felt the need to continue tossing and turning, trying to find a comfortable position. This was especially difficult, considering the fact that the bed on wheels was only half the width of her twin sized bed at home and it jerked with even the slightest movement. Finally, she gave up her quest to become comfortable and she'd decided to look for something to keep her mind off of the edginess that she was feeling. She closed her eyes and tried to use the tricks Bret Stiles had learnt her to calm down when she was feeling anger, sadness or agitation. Van Pelt breathed slowly in and out while memorizing happy events in her life. For example: Marrying Rigsby, closing up a case by herself, having drinks with Lisbon, celebrating Thanksgiving with her family, picnicking with Rigsby, buying new clothes, finally getting the education after begging Lisbon to convince Bertram to let her do it, having 'girl talk' with Jane, going out with Lisbon and closing up various cases with the team. She let out a deep sigh and looked at the white bandage around her shoulder. It didn't hurt because of the morphine which had decreased the feeling of pain.

A nurse walked into Van Pelt's room, giving her a disputed look. "Miss Van Pelt, you should lie down, your scapula needs rest." Van Pelt gave her a questioning look and lied down eventually. The nurse checked the heart monitor which continuously displayed the cardiac electrocardiogram tracing. "Thank you. You'd have to lie down because your movements may cause measurement errors. Don't worry, As the your condition improves, the amount of monitoring equipment may be decreased. However, the electrocardiogram and arterial blood saturation probe should be expected to remain attached until discharge is imminent." Explained the nurse. Van Pelt nodded, realizing Rigsby. Cho, Jane and Lisbon were gone. She started to think again and remembered the shooting. She got shot and passed out after the nurse had hit her on the head with her weapon. Van Pelt started to panic. Where were they now? Were they hurt? And what had happened to Jane?! Her breathing accelerated as she tried to get out of the bed. The nurse stopped her immediately and told her to lie down. "Where are they?!" Shouted the anxious Van Pelt, trying to remain calmth again. The nurse sat down on the edge of the hospital bed and took a smiled slightly."Your friends? You guys were all shot. Your Asian male friend was shot in his chest, which caused damage to his lungs. He had been put in a coma until his lung has healed completely again. He can't breathe on his own yet but we'll wake him up from the coma in a week or so. And your other male friend with the brown hair had been shot in his stomach and arm. Luckily, the bullet didn't got to any vital organs and he'll be able to leave the hospital in 3 days. All of you have a light brain concussion because you guys were hit on the head with something heavy. You were shot in your shoulder which caused several damage to your scapula bone. It's broken and you'll need to do physiotherapy. You guys were all very lucky you're alive, but i'm very unfortunate to tell you the patient you were with, has disappeared. Security had been called when various people heard the sound of the gun shooting. They arrived in 3 minutes but couldn't open the door. After they'd accomplished to open it, you were all lying down on the ground and the patient Patrick Jane was gone."

Van Pelt gasped, her mouth wide open as she listened to the news. She was very pleased Rigsby and Cho would be okay, but Jane was gone and the team wouldn't be able to get Lisbon back without Jane. But she didn't know where Jane was. He could've been kidnapped by the nurse, or he could've been killed and his body could be dumped somewhere. She needed to list all the facts first. They've got one clue already, the letter F. What could it possibly mean? Would it be a indication towards the place where Lisbon and presumably Jane were being held? Or would it be a dead end or a deadly trap?

Lisbon woke up with a headache,  still sitting on the chair. She opened her eyes and noticed the chair was standing right up again, and she was untied. Immediately standing up, Lisbon looked around. She wasn't in the dark room anymore with the bloody smiley on the wall, but she was standing in the middle of a cell. She could tell from the old mossy walls around her that this was an old cell somewhere down in the deep basement of an old secluded house which would presumably been standing in the middle of nowhere. She looked at the ceiling, which was completely made out of dark grey bricks. The cell wasn't big, probably the size of her bathroom at home. Home. She missed her home, her office, Van Pelt, Rigsby, Cho and.. Jane. The room was at least illuminated with several light bulbs which were attached to the brick walls. There was a titanium door on the other side of the room and there were no windows. Lisbon sighed and took place on the dark green plastic chair. Suddenly, she heard sounds of footsteps coming closer. She startled by hearing the fast tapping sounds which stopped in front of her cell. The door opened and somebody was thrown into the cell. The door closed again and the person who'd thrown him into the cell drifted off. Lisbon gasped as she checked the person who was lying on his stomach, he had bruises on his neck which meant he was strangled but didn't die. He had cut wounds and bruises all over his arms. She couldn't quite get a glimpse of his face because there was a plastic bag around it. Lisbon kneeled down at the person's body and checked for a pulse. Luckily, she found one which meant he was just knocked out. She rolled the person over so that he was lying on his back and she checked his body for more injuries. Then she took the plastic bag off of his face, revealing a dear friend of her. He had blood in his blonde curls and his blue eyes were closed. "Jane.." Lisbon gasped, a tear streaming down on her face.. She hugged him instantly, holding him close so he would never leave her again.

OK they finally met! Next chapter will be JISBON cuteness! :) I know, I know I did promised it last time. Well I hope you guys enjoyed this chapter! I did for sure. I was reading some interviews with Simon Baker today and found out a fun fact. You guys know the creepy voice Red John had when he saved, kidnapped and almost killed Jane? Well I've got a FUN FACT for you then. Simon Baker was the man behind the voices! I can hear you thinking, 'what the freakedy fridge is she talking about?' Well yeah I was totally flabbergasted when I heard it. He was actually playing two roles, Patrick Jane and the voice of Red John. Must've been weird to talk to yourself while recording a scene, lol. Anyway, please leave a comment and don't forget to rate this story! :) Thank you so much for reading again, I really appreciate it.
