6. Bauriasian Games
Two weeks have past since I last went to Margot's house. Our project and presentation went surprisingly well, considering the amount of distractions we had. It was actually my best mark this whole year.
I hadn't really spoken to Margot since the presentation. Yeah I saw her in history and we exchanged the odd greetings here and there but other than that there wasn't much time for us to see each other.
I had to admit, I kind of missed the afternoon sessions at her house. She was kind of a cool person even if she did find me quite annoying.
Being able to consistently see Claire Saunders was one of the highlights of my life. I had seen Claire more in the few weeks at the Saunders' house than I had in the past three years.
I sat staring at the ceiling of my maths class. It was the last lesson on a Friday and I hadn't even bothered to take out my books.
The glorious sound of the last bell was joyous music to my ears.
Hurriedly, I hoisted my bag onto my back. I gritted my teeth as I pictured my afternoon of Emily practing her Hamlet monologue repeatedly and my mom's caffeine-deprived mostly single parent colleagues all coming over.
My dad would probably stay at work late as he usually did when he wanted to avoid mom and her friends.
So I'd probably be forced to socialise with a bunch of woman in their late 40's.

I pressed in the doorbell and held my breath as the now familiar sound of the bell rang through the house.
I bit my lip as I stood outside the Saunders house waiting in anticipation. What if no one was home?
Just as I was about to give up my luck and walk back up the road to my house the door opened.
Margot's eyebrows arched in surprise. "Riley? What are you doing here?"
"I have-" I stopped as I slowly registered what she was wearing!
She had on a huge grey fluffy dressing gown, a white towel was mounted, like a giant meringue on her head, and on her feet she wore a pair of pink piggy slippers.
"Um." I pressed my lips together trying to suppress a laugh.
Margot realised what I was laughing at, "Well you chose really bad timing!" She moved aside and I walked into the house.
"But it's four in the afternoon." I said indicating the clock next to the fridge.
She huffed and closed the door.
"I've barely been here five minutes and I'm already making you sigh." I chuckled.
Margot crossed her arms. It was quite hard to take her seriously when her towel threatened to fall in her face at any moment.
"Is that what you came here for? To tell me the time and disturb my perfectly peaceful afternoon?"
"No..." I made my way over to the counter, "Boom! The Bauriasian Games!" I said slamming the DVD down.
Margot made her way over and peered down at the disk. She looked at me and smiled.
She laughed. "You were serious about me watching it?"
I furrowed my eyebrows, "Yes. Of course I was."
Did she think this was a joke.
"This," I said picking up the case and holding it up, "Is an artistic masterpiece."
She arched an unconvinced eyebrow. "Okay" She took the DVD from me and skimmed over it, turning it over in her hand.
She looked up, "Okay. Let's watch it."
"Right now!?" I had planned to just drop the DVD off and go back home.
She shrugged, "Sure why not. Let me just go get changed."
"Ya I think that would be a good idea." I remarked.
She rolled her eyes and ran up the stairs, her towel bobbing as she did.
"By the way," She called over her shoulder, "Claire isn't here."
"No shit Sherlock." I muttered under my breath as I made my way to the sitting room."
I was disappointed about Claire being out. But I was happier to be away from my house for a little while.
