2. Ready. Set. Go!
The bell signaling the end of the lesson couldn't have come soon enough.
I flung myself out of my chair, accidently kicked the pencil that I'd dropped, and bustled to the front to the classroom to where Margot sat.
"Hey Margot!" I panted, slightly out of breath, not because of the flurry of movement but because of bubbling excitement. "Wanna be partners?" I asked as I moved the strap of my bag to a more comfortable position on my shoulder.
Margot looked at me. She was not bubbling with excitement. She made me feel as though I was a street cat she'd been forced to take in.
She sighed, bending down and picking up her bag.
"I guess. This is because you want to be close to my sister don't you?"
"Yes." I said, glad that she'd gotten straight to the point and that I didn't have to bluff my way through the conversation.
She sighed again, deeper this time like she was wishing it was already over with.
"Okay." She agreed, I let out a breath of relief. "Meet me today at 4:30 at my house." She looked me right in the eyes. "And you better not fool around or get distracted because I'm serious when it comes to work." I retreated a step, quite taken aback. I managed a quick nod to show I was serious.
"Good." She said. With that she spun on her heal, her hair whipping out behind her and headed to the door.
Just as I was about to bend down and look for the pencil I'd kicked Margot called out to me.
"You're wasting your time you know! She's after a guy called Sven! Third one this month."
I rolled my eyes knowing it was Claire she was talking about. It was fine I wasn't going to let Margot dampen my hopes especially now that I may have a chance.

"I did it!" I said slamming down my bags in the entrance hall.
There was no reply which what was usually expected from my younger sister Emily.
I walked down the passageway and turned into her coral pink room.
Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING was pink! From the curtains to the cupcake-shaped alarm clock. My sister had completely shunned all the other more professional colours, even though she was nearly 15 years old.
Normally I chose to stay away from her room as much as possible but news like this just had to be shared.
"Emily?" I asked as I sat down at the end of her barbie pink bed, "Did you hear me?"
Slowly my sister put down her iPad and grudgingly sat up.
"What did you do?" She asked, without the simplest tone of interest.
I sat back, a smile creeping up into my lips.
"Guess who's going to the Saunders house this afternoon..."
Emily's eyebrows shot up. "Really!" I nodded and she threw her arms up and hugged me. "Yey!"
Even though Emily wasn't the greatest sister in the world. She could be moody and sour and a complete source of discomfort. I was still extremely thankful that I had her. She always supported me even if it was in her own way.
Emily had been one of the first people to find out about my crush on Claire and she knew how deeply I felt about her.
She released me and smiled. "How'd you manage that?"
I shrugged, "I don't know I sort of paired up with her sister Margot for a History project."
"Margot! I love Margot, she's in our swimming team, she's such a sweetheart."
"Sure..." I said. I bit my lip, I hadn't really had the luxury experiencing Margot's "sweetness."
Emily patted my leg then stood and moved towards her dressing table. "Give her a chance I'm sure she'll warm up to you."
"Yeah..." I said not really thinking about it, I didn't care about what Margot thought of me just as long as I got to see her sister.
I glanced at Emily's coral pink wall clock.
It was 4:20! Shit!
I had to be at Margot's house in 10 minutes!
I lept off Emily's bed and hurried into my own room. I definitely didn't want to be late!
