Isolation
At five on the dot bakugou's loud annoying alarm began to blare throughout his lonesome apartment, he slammed and angry fist down against the cool plastic surface of the alarm to shut it up. After a minute or two the blonde rolled out of bed, letting a deep laboured sigh pass through his lips. He rubbed his face with his hands sliding them back through his spiky platinum blonde hair as he sat on the edge of his bed staring down at his feet against the cold wooden floor before trudging off through to the kitchen. He reached his arms up to the ceiling, satisfying pops and clicks came from his shoulders and back as he stretched himself out afore letting them fall limp against his sides.
dull thuds fill the silence within bakugou's bleak modern apartment as he made his way through to the bathroom, making a quick stop before the kitchen. Katsuki splashed his face with icy cold water to truly wake himself up, staring back at his reflection in the mirror as he dried off his face. His hands ran trough his hair once more, trying his best to do something with it but ultimately gave up shooting himself a scowl due to the annoyance of his own untamable hair before storming off to make his breakfast.
Once in his favourite environment of pure heat and expression he finally got started on his healthy nutritious breakfast. Bakugou's wide, otherworldly culinary skills were truly unbeatable, he was the gem of Eraser. It was a sight to behold, the way he fastidiously sliced and prepared his dishes, everything was always expertly hand crafted and only presented at the very highest standard.
The dark circles under his eyes were bleak and prominent, though the blond prided himself on his peak physical physique you didn't have to be blind to see something was up. He finished plating up his solitary eggs and avocado on toast along side a large healthy, protein smoothie before parking himself down in the same lonesome dining table chair enjoying his breakfast for one. It didn't take the hungry blond to finish of his protein fill breakfast.
Bakugou had his same morning routine that he followed to a T everyday, come rain or shine. So the fiery blond, after his breakfast changed into his usual training gear, a pair of full length black skins a long side his baggy black shorts that fit snuggly over the tight fitting skins; these were worn mainly because his manhood was practically on display in his tight athletic leggings. To top off his basic running wear he pulled on a light, thin comfortable grey sweatshirt, grabbing his phone he was ready to go.
Exiting the apartment was always a small hurdle Katsuki was usually pretty hesitant to tackle. He undid the small but strong chain clasp that helped keep his apartment locked before poking his spiky blond head out the door, looking every-which-way for any signs of life. Much to the blond's relief he was in fact the only one roaming the apartment block's hallways at such an unruly time in the morning. After locking up his home he continued on his way.
The cool morning air hit Katsuki full force as he exited the apartment complex, sending a short, quick shudder up his spine causing his body to shiver in the process. Shaking off the frustrating cold bite that nipped at him so early in the morning the blond ventured out into the morning. Bobbing and weaving through the tight, narrow Japanese streets, Bakugou kept at his swift, steady pace making sure to keep his breath regulated, the cold air making it more difficult to breath but this being a steady routine for the blond it wasn't hard to work through. Hastily reaching his marker, the set of tramlines that ran through Musutafu, the city Bakugou resided in.
The tramlines were roughly 3 km away from his apartment taking the athletic man roughly around 30 or so to complete his fast-paced run. Once at aforementioned tramlines Bakugou did what you'd expect most to do in this situation and started, forgoing any break might I add on his way home to clean up before starting on his way home.
A huffing and sweaty Bakugou soon arrived back at his empty apartment. The morning was now in full swing, so the apartment block he was walking through could only be described as a landmine of overly friendly neighbors ready to explode their exceedingly cheerfully mood on the less than animated Katsuki Bakugou.
Grumbling into his lonely apartment, the evidently foul tempered male was in an even more characteristically pissed off mood after being unable to dodge Emi Fukukado. Bakugou hated this woman, as he did most people but he hated her especially he hadn't even made an attempt to learn the woman's name but he always made a conscious effort to ignore her at all costs. The problem with Fukuakado was that she had this self proclaimed power of being able to make anyone she came in contact with laughter and the main issues with this was the fact that she could never make Bakugou laugh and this frustrated her to no end. In the 3 or 4 years of living in the same apartment floor she had never gotten him to so much as smirk.
Fukuakado had thrown Katsuki with what she believed to be an absolutely hilarious joke surrounding the topic of The state of the world hoping a more pessimistic joke would get him, but alas to no avail. Bakugou, instead of laughing had decided to take the route of making a rude, back handed comment surrounding her age before slamming his door shut. She, being quite used to the blonds less than friendly personality just laughed it off and returned to her own respective home.
It was roughly 8am and Bakugou had the whole day to himself, thanks to Aizawa, The restaurant's owner and Bakugou's boss. The usually half asleep man often came across as quite sleep deprived and uncaring and although half of that was true he did genuinely care a lot about his staff and their well-being so the last thing he wanted was for his head chef to fall prey to burnout. So the enforced day off was for the blonds health and to make sure he keeps up his quality work ethic.
Katsuki slipped off his running shoes, placing them carefully in the small by the entrance. Being a more reasonable time in the morning, fresh sunlight began streaming in through the large apartment windows, cascading light rays though-out the modern apartment. Bakugou had planned to go hiking today though the weather report for the day was for heavy rain that he chose to just ignore the weather reports. Anyway everything currently looked calm and sunny.
Waisting no time, Bakugou grabbed a small hiking bag from inside the seemingly hidden, modest sized cupboard located next to the entrance to the apartment. Scooping all he need from the cupboard into his hiking back before heading over to the kitchen to fill up his metal flask, to top of his hiking gear he grabbed one of he pre-made lunches from the fridge. Leaving the packed bag on the cool, marble work bench to go change his clothes. Choosing to go with a his pair of dark green baggy trousers along side a random thin, moveable T-shirt to top it off a thin, breathable black windbreaker with orange detailing around the stitching.
Spending no more time in the apartment Bakugou was ready to go, not really one to hang around, twiddling his thumbs and wait for time to pass. On his way out Katsuki grabbed his bag, keys and light brown hiking boots and set off for his day out. As he marched out his apartment the blond heard the distinctive sound of a door open, knowing exactly who it was Bakugou chose to swiftly make an exit for the opposite direction. Once down in the parking lot, clicking the unlock button on his keys so his car could indicate were it was parked. The blond was sporting an average grey new model Toyota Prius, it wasn't used often as he usually walk or ran to places but the area in which he was going today was a little far to walk.
Ominous dark, grey clouds were slowly beginning to roll in from the east, exactly how the weather report had stated. Choosing to not notice them Katsuki drove on out the parking lot on to the busy free way, growing ever closer to his destination. It was a quiet drive to the mountains, after coming off the interstate Bakugou broke out into the stunningly scenic Japanese countryside. Large stretching rice paddies began to form either side of the blonds car, different shades of greens moving and mixing with the landscape. Small villages nestled into lush forestry, dating centuries old. An old mostly empty train raced next to Katsuki's car, the old carriages rattling and jolting as it sped along its un-maintained tracks before inevitably stopping at a deserted train stop. Unloading one of the few passengers then advancing into obscurity, becoming nothing more than a dot in the distance.
After less than 30 minutes of rolling countrysides and seemingly lifeless villages, the blond came across his destination. This wasn't one of his normal hiking locations, but Katsuki had been looking for a new place to frequent. Crackling noises broke out as he moved onto a narrow shingled road. Pulling him out into a tiny deserted car park, a small broken sign connecting to an even more broken fence read 'Mount Hiuchi'. Other than the sign held on by about one nail was a small dirt track leading off into the lavish dark green mountain. Pulling the handle of his bag as he exited the car, locking it in the process, sling the bag over his shoulder he was read to depart on his hike. A strong gust blew through the tall, dim forest trees. The afore mentioned clouds began cover the once beaming sun causing shadows to be cast along the entrance to the hike. Thinking nothing of it Bakugou continued on his way up the mountain.
This mountain was higher than most Bakugou hiked standing around 8,077ft. Though being 9ish in the morning it was turning out to be quite grey and cold, light winds were slowly picking up, rustling the trees around him. Dull thuds against the unkept mountain walkway, keeping an even pace and making good progress. It had been roughly 2-3 hours since Katsuki had begun his walk and those few ominous grey clouds had now covered the entire ski, leaving the once bight, gorgeous weather to nothing but dark, cold and bleak. The clouds looked like they were about to erupt into torrential rain at any second and just as suspected a few specks off rain began to fall on the bride of the blonds nose and on the ground around him.
"Fuck sake," Bakugou grumbled, wiping away the water droplets but the determinedly stubborn man refused to turn back, hellbent on finishing his hike. But things only got worse for there. Not long after the rain began to pour the wind picked up, light breezes turning to strong gales blowing forcefully through the forest. As he moved ahead the rain only fell harder, making it difficult to see the track in front of him. It was times like this he truly regretted buying the hoodless windbreaker, the only thing that protected his head from the elements was the tall, turtleneck like collar of the jacket causing him to nestle into it to keep him as warm as he could. With his head to the ground Bakugou sauntered ahead until the foot path turned to grass. Swiftly looking up and around him, the blond had lost the trail, twisting and turning to look all around for any distinctive features but all he could see was tall looming trees.
All disoriented Bakugou had no idea what to do but frantically look for his trail, but to no avail. Soon he grew desperate, he let out loud obscene words as he angrily kicked the closets tree next him, water pouring into his collar absolutely drenching him making the poor male even more enraged. He was wet, angry and tried from running around for any signs that would bring him back to civilisation. After what felt like hours of searching Bakugou slumped down against a tree, in the wet mud surrounding the base of the trunk. Whipping his sodden face the blond let out a huff, slicking all the water back into his untameable hair. As he just sat there in ultimate defeat, Katsuki looked up from his hands and saw something he could've sworn wasn't there before. The entrance to a large, dry cave, emphasis on dry. Standing up from the wet and mud he'd been sitting in, feeling saved by this god-sent of a cave he headed over.
The inside of the cave was bigger than what he'd expected, the walls loomed and curved to meet each other. Jagged rocks and slate covered the walls. There was very little in the cave only various rocks, boulders and small sticks littered the floor, it really wasn't much but it would do till the weather calmed down. Bakugou flinched slightly when a bright flash broke out across the sky soon followed by a loud thunder clap, only pissing him off further. With a frustrated huff the blond threw his bag to the floor, preparing himself for a long hold up in the cave. Lucky Bakugou usually Brought a lot on his hikes just incased shit like this happened, so he felt he'd be fine for the next few hours. He removed his soaked windbreaker, being the middle of July Katsuki had refrained from wearing any warm items of clothing, which he now greatly regretted. As he laid out the contents of his bag near the entrance of the cave, drying out his sodden clothes something completely unexpected happened. growls began to emanate throughout the cave, rumbling from the very bowls of the hollow sending an un easy shiver down the blonds spine. The rumbling growl only grew louder, feeling like it was growing closer. Due to the horrendous storm raging on outside there wasn't much light so half of the cave was shrouded in darkness and Katsuki was unable to see what was making the sounds.
Then it emerged.
What he saw was absolutely nothing he'd ever expected.
What he did see shocked him to his very core. Every part of him telling him to run. Run far away. But he stood his ground.
